CRAFTSMANSHIP IS THE PRODUCT OF VALUES AND SKILL Started in a dorm room in the Sixties to make leather vests for the counter-culture, our small leather goods manufacturer was initially selected for his expertise in choosing and working leathers for iPhone and iPad cases, wallets and money clips. But we were also struck by his familiar story. Through recessions,

outsourcing and factory closings, he’s stayed loyal to his employees, his small New England town and traditional fabrication process. In taking the road less traveled, he’s created a host of new American jobs and a successful multi-generational business with a longstanding tradition of excellence to pass down to his son.

To create the exceptional finish on our walnut leather, we had to break the rules a little bit. First, we take warm, light colored calfskin and burnish the exterior by hand on a traditional wheel. Then, we repeat the process on another wheel — the same one we use on our black shoes. This painstaking process gives the leather its unique finish and imbues it with contrasting low-lights for a rich depth of color. What you end up with is a sophisticated shoe that remains true to its character, for footwear that is as unmatched as it is uncommon.
