elcome to our first 2014 edition! We’re starting the year off with some short briefs of inspiring global projects that are ongoing-from Qatar’s first semi submerged hotel to the Netherlands Kromhout Barracks to China’s Jinzhou World landscape art exposition, which has resulted in a new permanent city park from the 20 selected winning designs that were submitted by landscape architects from around the world. And of course we cannot forget about the UAE’s successful expo2020 win, which will no doubt sustain the landscaping industry for the next few years in Dubai. On page 16 we speak with HOK, the design team who led the vision for the look and feel of new expo site. We showcase their plans for the 3 main areasthe Welcome Pavilion, Innovation Pavilion and the UAE Pavilion.
