Private individuals also contribute. ‘We’ve survived for 21 years because I look at the budget early in the year and cut my cloth accordingly’ says Peter. ‘Even so we have maintained an international standard’. In the midst of final preparations for this year’s festival, planning for 2011 has already begun, although so far Peter is giving little away. ‘I have to start planning early because good people get booked up well ahead.’ The artists come to Malvern from all over the world. ‘Everybody we’ve had, whether from Russia,
the United States or from London say how wonderful Malvern is, and how well they’re looked after here’. The festival runs from Saturday 25th September until Sunday 31st October 2010. Tickets are available by calling (01684) 892277 between 10am and 7pm, Monday to Saturday. There’s free entry for young people (aged 8-16 years) when accompanied by a paying adult to performances by Aldwyn Voices, Carlo Curley, Sofya Gulyak and the European Union Chamber Orchestra.
