DISASTER ASSISTANCE DENA LUCE At this year’s Annual Convention in April 2012, ALLA awarded its first Library Disaster Assistance Grant to five libraries. The grant was created in the spring of 2011 to assist libraries in Alabama who had received damage due to tornadoes or other disasters. The amount of award is $250.00. The Disaster Assistance Grant is a way for members of the library community to support libraries affected by disasters for years to come. The Association hopes the grant will continue to be a location for community members and businesses to direct financial assistance to the areas of greatest need.
