Over the course of two action-packed days, spectators witnessed the incredible beauty of the Arabian horse and the cultural splendor of Dutch heritage.

The closing ceremony of the show was spectacular. Orange, the national color of the Netherlands, was prominently featured in the confetti, orange smoke, and the performers’ outfits and throughout the setting in which the performers moved, animating an exciting and engaging show that was unique and fascinating. Dancers, cyclists, and cheerleaders delivered a fantastic show to fittingly close an event that will remain etched in the memory of all who attended.

From the beginning, in all its stages the Global

Champions Arabians Tour has been impeccably organized, and with a total prize fund of 17 million euros, it offers tremendous opportunities for participants. Now, after its recent debut in Cannes and Valkenswaard, it is making a significant contribution to the European show calendar.

Not only by organizing three very important stops in the European geography and by including two locations which are entirely new for Arabian horse beauty shows, but also by inserting itself in supporting existing events that are smaller in size but have great importance in the European scene in terms of involving breeders who do not participate in large events but who likewise contribute significantly to enriching the international gene pool and deserve to have strong support from important and influential organizations such as GCAT. Thanks to the great work being done by the GCAT’s Organizing Committee, successfully led by Faleh Mohammed Al Nasr who is its Chairman, aided by the organizational expertise of His staff and collaborators, this event is changing the international beauty show landscape, bringing in new players and making the whole industry more influential, giving it the prominence it deserves on par with equestrian disciplines that are already followed worldwide and exponentially and crosswise attract and enthuse millions of people, creating opportunities and passing on culture and heritage.

Interview with Jorge Cunha Chief

Brand Officer -Head of Marketing

The GCAT has been a tremendous success. stage of the tour, and the Arabian horse community is excited to have such a prestigious show on the calendar.

TB: Looking back at the first five editions, has the GCAT met the expectations of the organizers?

JC: I think it’s fair to say that the Global Champions Arabians Tour has not only met but exceeded the expectations of the entire organising committee. Each stage of the GCAT is a learning curve, and we’re constantly looking at new and innovative ways to improve the experience and bring the Arabian horse show to new audiences.

TB: Will the tour continue next year?

JC: GCAT is a long-term project and we plan to grow continually. We are working away behind the scenes on the plans for 2025 and you can expect some exciting announcements very soon.

TB: The prize money for the GCAT is impressive. Can participants expect the same prize money next year?

JC: We plan to be consistent as we believe this is the key to success.

TB: Do you think including

special prizes dedicated to breeders from the host country of the show stage could be an added value and could encourage the participation of small domestic breeders as well?

JC: First and foremost, GCAT is a tour for the Arabian horse community, so we’re always interested in hearing about ways to enhance the experience and add value for our participants. We’ve discussed a number of ideas for 2025 so watch this space.

TB: Are there plans to add more locations to the tour? In addition to the 4 shows sponsored this year where free entrance participation in the Global Tour was planned as a gift (like for 2024 they gave tickets in the Eurozone show, Bruges, Venice, Tarnow, and Ströhen), do you plan to add more in 2025?

JC: We plan to grow the GCAT, and as we’ve already announced, London will be a welcome new addition to 2025. We’re looking to add new major cities and the best locations. When it comes to the show partnerships, these

underpin the Tour’s commitment to supporting European breeders, growing the community and cementing the future of the Arabian horse.

TB: We’ve seen some strong competitors in the GCAT this year. Will there be any rules for GCAT Gold champions that will prevent them from returning next year?

JC: We’re a Championship series, and the horses are welcome to defend their title!

TB: I understand that the GCAT is part of the Global Tour organized for warmbloods. Will both tours come together as one event where showjumpers and Arabian horse enthusiasts can meet and connect?

JC: In many of the host cities, the Tours are running back to back, allowing enthusiasts from both sides to explore the other. In fact, we saw many of the Arabian horse owners and handlers thoroughly enjoying the showjumping in Cannes, and vice versa.

the Crown Jewel of Jadem Arabians

Widely acclaimed breeding programmes with a long history, such as the one of Jadem Arabians in Belgium, produce many incredible individuals in the course of their existence. Throughout more than 45 years of Jadem’s history, its owner and founder, Christine Jamar-Demeersseman, a muchadmired and highly accomplished persona in the Arabian horse industry, have bred many captivating Arabians that can be compared to precious gems.

However, there is one stallion that stands out from the crowd and can be considered the crown jewel among Christine’s impressive collection. His perfectly matched name, EMERALD J (QR Marc – Emandoria / Gazal Al Shaqab), says it all. After all, emeralds belong to the ‘Big Four’ of the most coveted gemstones on earth and, due to their rarity, they are often more expensive than diamonds. And so is Emerald J – as exceptional and precious as the rarest of gemstones.

It is an incredibly interesting story of how Emerald J became an important part of Christine’s life and, at the same time, an invaluable asset to Jadem Arabians’ breeding programme. It was actually Christine who, during one of her stays in the USA, discovered his sire, the then twoyear-old and very promising bay QR Marc (Marwan

Emerald J (QR Marc x Emandoria) Alessio Azzali

Al Shaqab – Swete Dreams / Magic Dream), and purchased him on behalf of Knocke Arabians, another prominent Belgian breeder. At approximately the same time, Emerald’s dam Emandoria (Gazal Al Shaqab –Emanda / Ecaho), the reigning Queen of the acclaimed Michałów State Stud of Poland, was leased to the USA to conquer North American show rings and promote the Polish Arabian horse for which Christine has always had much admiration and appreciation. She could not believe her luck when she learnt that Emandoria’s leasee not only had the right to collect embryos but also made one available for purchase. Any experienced breeder knows that such a remarkable offer does not

happen very often so, without any hesitation, Christine decided to purchase the precious embryo – the promise of even brighter future for her already well-established breeding programme. All Arabian horse breeders dream about producing this one-in-a-million horse but not many of them have the carenasurage and resources to take the risk that Christine was ready to take to make her dreams come true. However, the uncertainty of the possible outcome could easily outweigh the excitement, especially when the embryo was extremely expensive and QR Marc, undoubtedly a unique and outstanding individual, was still an unproven sire. So much blood, sweat, and tears - so much time, money and effort went

Emerald J with Gallardo J (Emerald J x Gomera J) - Dubai, International AHC 2015 - Antonia Bautista

into Christine’s project but she believed her incredible instincts as a breeder would not fail her in her pursuits. Still, she was well aware of what she was getting herself into and thus she did not reveal her plans even to her closest relatives; her beloved husband found out about the purchase just a few weeks before the birth of a foal.

A long-time admirer of the ethereal Emandoria and a firm believer in the bright future of QR Marc, Christine secretly hoped for a filly. Only she knows what her feelings were after receiving the news that, on 29th March 2010, a cute and correct bay colt, not more, was born in the barns of Om El Arab in the USA. After the telephone

call, she reconsidered the situation and reminded herself that it was a correct colt with a prodigious pedigree which was of the utmost importance to her. Also, foals can change for the better or worse. With this new spirit, she travelled to the States to meet the then three-weekold Emerald J who was indeed very well-built but not very exotic at that moment. Christine took the young colt home as soon as he was weaned, determined to give him time and space to grow and develop at his own pace. When Emerald turned one, even Christine was in awe of the transformation that he had undergone. The still very young colt started its transformation into a beautiful young boy.

This tremendous transition from a rather average colt to a masculine and charismatic stallion, capable of capturing the hearts of Arabian horse admirers all over the world, can surely be attributed to Emerald’s priceless pedigree. He represents two most prominent lines in the modern Arabian horse breeding, the significant sire line of Saklawi I, bred by the Anazeh Ruala tribe of Egypt in 1886, and the meritorious Polish dam line of Milordka which originated in the aristocratic stables of Sławuta, Poland circa 1810. In the last few decades, Saklawi I has undoubtedly been the most widely spread and influential male line in Arabian horse breeding that can easily lay claim to the title of the leading bloodline of all time. The famous female family of Milordka, best known to the Arabian horse aficionados as the champion producing ‘E’-line, now most numerously represented in the modern-day Michałów Stud’s breeding programme, has given birth to so many magnificent mares and stallions that even the most knowledgeable experts and most devoted enthusiasts of Arabian horses would surely struggle with naming them all.

Not only does Emerald J represent one of the most significant sub-branches of Saklawi I on the planet, commenced by his phenomenal paternal great-grandsire, 2017 Platinum World Champion Stallion, Gazal Al Shaqab (Anaza El Farid – Kajora / Kaborr), but, as already stated, he also stems from the ‘E’-line’s epitome of excellence, 2018 Platinum World Champion Female, the endlessly enchanting and exquisite Emandoria. Essentially, Emerald J is a direct descendant of six World Champions, not a common occurrence even across the biggest and finest Arabian horse breeding programmes. Apart from his highly acclaimed paternal grandsire, Emerald’s direct male line includes 2012 World Champion Stallion and his sire, QR Marc, as well as his grandsire, 2008 World Champion Male, Marwan Al Shaqab (Gazal Al Shaqab – Little Liza Fame / Fame VF). Tail female, his granddam Emanda (Ecaho – Emanacja / Eukaliptus) was 2001 World Champion Senior Mare, while his great-granddam Emanacja (Eukaliptus - Emigracja / Palas) won the title of 1988 World Reserve Champion Junior Filly. Additionally, Emerald J is heavily infused with his paternal great-grandsire’s blood as Gazal Al Shaqab is also present on the female side of his pedigree, being the sire of his dignified dam. No wonder that Emerald J exhibits so many exceptional qualities of Gazal and his distinguished dynasty, like exotic type, commanding charisma, perfectly proportioned head with a pronounced jibbah, a distinct dish and huge black eyes, long swan-like neck and correctly conformed structure.

As much as Emerald owes his undisputable greatness to Gazal, it is actually quite difficult to determine whether it was his sire or dam that contributed to his superior quality to a greater extent; both QR Marc and Emandoria blessed him with their best characteristics, inherited from their own highly-admired ancestors. It cannot be stressed enough that, tail female, Emerald J belongs to the widely celebrated family of Emigracja (Palas – Emisja / Carycyn), the former Queen of Michałów and one of the most prolific producers of our times. Without this magnificent mare and her priceless progeny, the champion producing ‘E’-line would have never risen to fame, nor would it have achieved such a spectacular success worldwide. Through her great-granddaughter Emandoria, Emigracja enhanced Emerald’s excellence with her family’s fantastic phenotype, adding even more elegance, charisma and correctness of built to an already impressive set of features, acquired from his superb sire line.

The union of Gazal’s dynasty with the dam line of Milordka seemed like a match made in heaven. No wonder that this brilliant blend of best available bloodlines has been persistently repeated by many breeders and has resulted in an unprecedented abundance of halter show superstars, with Emerald J positioned highly in the pantheon of these internationally recognised personalities. Being the centre of attention seemed as natural as breathing for the young colt, and thus he entered the world of halter competition shortly after he had turned one. Even though his transformation into the magnificent

masculine stallion that he is today was far from completion at the time, Emerald achieved his first significant successes as a junior contender in 2011 and 2012. Not only did he win three gold medals at the 2011 International Arabian Horse Days in Germany, the 2012 Al Khalediah Arabian Horse Festival in Saudi Arabia and the 2012 Elran Cup in Belgium, but he also reached for the coveted title of World Top Ten Junior Colt during his first two show seasons.

In order to utilise Emerald’s incredible breeding potential to the fullest, Christine decided to limit the number of shows in which he participated. Still, he was perfectly capable of having a stellar show career as a senior stallion. In 2015, he won his class with a great score of 92.90 points as well as his first gold medal as a senior stallion at the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship. His good luck continued throughout the 2017 show season, which concluded with another three important awards added to his gradually growing collection of trophies. In January 2017, Emerald became Gold Champion Senior Stallion at the prestigious Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Arabian Horse Festival (PSAIAHF) in Saudi Arabia, where his impressive score of 93.90 points put him at the top of his class. Another tremendous triumph awaited Emerald in Europe, more particularly at the Chantilly World Cup in France, where he again proved to be worthy of winning the highest honours. Another class victory and another gold medal in the Senior Stallions’ Championship solidified his position of power in the international show arenas.

It felt like the 2017 All Nations Cup in Aachen, generally considered one of the most challenging competitions in the world, would be the toughest test for the then sevenyear-old stallion, but Emerald J made it look like it was an easy job to place first among the fiercest competition. With an unbelievably high score of 94.24 points, including nine 20s: three for his refined type, four for his beautifully shaped head and another two for his ground-covering trot, Emerald J’s perfect performance made his breeder proud. Christine could not have been happier when she collected the coveted All Nations Cup silver medal for her classy and charismatic stallion. It came as no surprise that when Emerald J returned to the show ring in 2018 at the A-class Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival in Poland, he easily outdistanced his rivals, becoming Unanimous Gold Champion Senior Stallion. Surely, the score of 93.67 points, including eight 20s: three for type, two for head and another three for movement, made it easier for him to claim his crown with unmatched style and grace.

The potent pedigree of Emerald has undoubtedly shaped him into this incredible individual that is adored and appreciated around the globe, however it must be stressed that his legendary ancestors have also immensely influenced his producing powers. Emerald’s accomplishments as a show champion are undeniably impressive but it is his career as a sire where he seems to have broken all the records. Listing all the countless show winners that Emerald J has produced over the years is an impossible task, however mentioning his most prodigious progeny will surely suffice to show his incessant supremacy as a sire.

The international show superstar Gallardo J (out of Gomera J / Ekstern) is an excellent example of Emerald’s producing potential. Bred by Christine herself and born at the very start of Emerald’s breeding career, this young colt dominated the arenas of the most significant shows in the world. Gallardo has even surpassed his superb sire in the number of titles that he has won over the years, of which the most important include: 2014 European Gold Champion Yearling Colt, 2015 Sharjah International Gold Champion Junior Colt, 2015 Dubai International Gold Champion Junior Colt, 2015 and 2016 Mediterranean &

Marrakech J (Emerald J x JA Ultima)

Arab Countries Gold Champion Junior Colt, 2015 and 2016 European Gold Champion Junior Colt, 2015 World Bronze Champion Junior Colt, 2016 All Nations Cup Gold Champion Junior Colt and, last but not least, 2016 World Gold Champion Junior Colt. With so many A-class and title show trophies, including two medals at the World Championships, Gallardo J belongs to the brightest stars of the international Arabian horse breeding. No wonder that the most memorable moment for Christine in her almost half-century-long career as a breeder happened at the 2015 Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship where Emerald J and his then two-year-old son Gallardo J took the top of the podium, becoming Gold Champions in their respective categories. In 2018, the young Triple Crown winner became the talk of the town thanks to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who gifted Gallardo J to the President of China, Xi Jinping. This special stallion can be considered the pinnacle of Jadem Arabian’s breeding programme as he represents the fifth generation of horses bred by Christine.

No doubt that Gallardo J seems like the greatest successor of his stunning sire but he is surely not the only one to follow in Emerald’s footsteps. In 2017, another beautiful bay colt by Emerald J and out of a lovely mare Haniyyah (Psytadel – Hanina / Warandes Plakat) was brought to the world in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Bred by Sons of Abdullah Bin Muhammed Al Subaiee, the charismatic colt was named Admiraal, the commander in chief of a navy, to demonstrate his upcoming contest of the world’s most challenging show rings. In fact, it did not take Admiraal much time to conquer the Arabian horse world. In 2018, he became another Triple Crown winner sired by Emerald J: Gold Champion Yearling Colt at All Nations Cup in Aachen, European Championships in Lier and World Championships in Paris. Other important trophies in his collection include: 2018 PSAIAHF Gold Champion Yearling Colt, 2018 Dubai International Gold Champion Yearling Colt, 2019 and 2020 Dubai International Bronze Champion Junior Colt, 2020 PSAIAHF Silver Champion Junior Colt and 2022 El Jadida Silver Champion Senior Stallion. Admiraal’s attractiveness was highly appreciated by Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi of the world-famous Ajman Stud, who purchased the young colt after his first successful starts in the Middle East.

Another heir of Emerald J, the gorgeous grey Muranas Nader (out of Muranas Nabila / Muranas Jassehr), was born in 2019 at the well-known Murana Stud of Germany, founded and owned by Michaela Weidner. Christine had been amazed with Nader’s attitude since he was a baby and saw a potential in him to generate good publicity for his sire. For this reason, her husband Guy purchased Muranas Nader as a foal. Again, Christine’s infallible intuition as a breeder had helped her to predict the future of this unique colt as he later became 2020 European Silver Champion Yearling Colt, 2021 Katara International Gold Champion Junior Colt as well as 2023 Belgian National Unanimous Gold Champion Senior Stallion.

Other stallions sired by Emerald J that rose to fame as show ring superstars include 2023 World Bronze Champion Senior Stallion, Sultan Alenaya (out of Ammona / Ekstern), as well as the representative of younger generations, Ezz Alkhashab (out of Malikat Al Moluk / Mameluk), who among his numerous trophies holds the coveted title of 2021 World Bronze Champion Yearling Colt.

There is no question about the fact that Emerald J did a phenomenal job producing so many spectacular stallions but it is only fair to praise his accomplishments in the mare department as well. Over the years, he sired many female show winners as well as prolific broodmares. His 2016 breathtakingly beautiful daughter Eralda (out of Enezja / Marajj), bred by Falborek Arabians of Poland, is an excellent example of a successful show

champion who has also become a valuable broodmare for her current owner, Al Shira’aa Arabians of the UAE. Not only is she a holder of the prestigious titles of 2018 European Gold Champion Junior Filly, 2019 Mediterranean & Arab Countries Silver Champion Junior Filly and 2019 World Silver Champion Junior Filly, but she is also the dam of four fabulous bay fillies who mimic Eralda’s achievements as repeated show winners: the 2020 Iralda Al Shiraa (by FA El Rasheem), the 2021 Jheselle Al Shiraa (by RFI Farid), the 2022 Kaamla Al Shiraa (by Ibn Farid) and the 2022 Karma Al Shiraa (by RFI Unique).

The 2016 brilliant bay AJ Tarim is another highly acclaimed daughter of Emerald J out of the ethereal Espinilla (Al Maraam – Espadrilla / Monogramm), a Michałów-bred beauty representing the distinguished dam line of Milordka. With a double dose of Milordka’s magnificence on both sides of her pedigree, AJ Tarim has made her breeder and owner, Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi of Ajman Stud, extremely proud, being both international multichampion and consistent creator of quality offspring. As a junior filly, AJ Tarim won the silver medal at the 2018 Sharjah International Arabian Horse Show but it was only when she matured into a marvellous young mare that her show career truly flourished. Altogether, she won three Gold Champion titles in the UAE, at the Abu Dhabi and Sharjah shows in 2020 and in Fujairah in 2022. Additionally, she stood twice on the podium in Dubai as Silver Champion in 2020 and Bronze Champion in 2021. She is also the proud dam of the 2019 grey AJ Tejan (by AJ Kafu), multiple medallist in the Middle East; the 2019 chestnut AJ Tallah (by AJ Marzan), 2021 Sharjah International Silver Champion Yearling Filly as well as two full brothers by Antaris OS (RFI Farid – Justina / WH Justice): the 2021 grey AJ Taj, 2022 Sharjah Gold Champion Yearling Colt and the 2021 bay AJ Tayam, 2024 Gold Champion Junior Colt of the 12th Qatar National Arabian Horse Show for Individual Owners.

Other remarkable daughters sired by Emerald J include 2019 World Bronze Champion Yearling Filly, Adwaa Al Arab (out of HK Jojo RLC / HK Keav Power), bred and owned by Al Arab Stud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle Eastern multichampion D Fala (out of Fer Fiera Blanca / WH Justice), bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and currently owned by Al Salem Stud of Qatar.

There seems to be no place in the world where Emerald’s outstanding offspring would not shine in the show rings. Two Triple Crown winners, several World Champion title holders as well as many other A-class and title show superstars of European and Middle Eastern show arenas are just a fraction of what Emerald J has achieved as a sire. It is enough to mention that, when he won his gold medal at the 2017 edition of PSAIAHF, three of his progeny became champions at the same show. His oldest son, the 2013 bay Mansour Al Jalawiyah (out of Gypsy Love NA / Ever After NA), shared the podium with his sire as Silver Champion Senior Stallion, while two yearlings: the bay filly Badawiah Al Muawd (out of Mistilll Al Muawd / Abha Qatar) and the bay colt General (out of ES Mahbuba / Ajman Moniscione)

Paris J (Emerald J x Palabra)

were named Silver Champion Yearling Filly and Gold Champion Yearling Colt respectively.

It looks like there were no physical or metaphorical boundaries when it comes to Emerald’s breeding powers which spread all over the globe with the speed of light, finally reaching both North and South America. Not many sires have achieved such a spectacular success as Emerald J did at the 2021 Scottsdale Show and the 2022 US Nationals. In Scottsdale, four of his progeny finished the competition on the podium. The 2020 bay Emerlee PCF (out of Inessence PCF / Invictus PCF) became Silver Champion Junior Filly, the 2020 bay Ernando AA (out of H Embrace H / Besson Carol) won the title of Gold Champion Junior Colt, the 2019 bay MD Zlatan (out of MD Hibat Allah / DA Valentino) stood on the podium right next to Ernando AA as Silver Champion Junior Colt, while the 2019 bay

Mystic Emerald PF (out of Mystic Rose BHF / Padrons Psyche) was crowned Unanimous Gold Champion SSS as a two year-old-colt. The 2022 US Nationals featured another four finalists, including the aforementioned MD Zlatan, who became Reserve Champion in the Futurity Colts category, as well as Emir Sahara (out of Sahara Daghirah / Denali BHF) - Reserve Champion Junior Stallion, Esperanzza (out of Vesperra / SF Veraz) - Reserve Champion Mare AAOTH and XX Emeresst (out of Exxaltress / Excalibur EA) - Reserve Champion Futurity Gelding. The offspring of Emerald J also gained recognition in Brazil, winning numerous National Champion titles, which resulted in a special award for the stallion in the Get of Sire category at the 2021 Brazilian Nationals.

The tremendously difficult task of producing priceless progeny that would conquer the show rings in every

Eralda (Emerald J x Enezja) - Owner: Al Shiraa Stables - Antonia Bautista

corner of the world as well as extend Emerald’s legacy through their own sons and daughters has already been accomplished but, as significant as it might seem, it was not Christine’s main goal when she purchased the precious embryo. Most of all, she wanted to improve her own breeding programme and take it to the next level. Also this challenging chore Emerald completed effortlessly, siring such individuals as Marrakech J (out of JA Ultima / Besson Carol), 2016 Gold Champion

Junior Filly and 2018 Silver Champion Senior Mare at the AHO Breeders’ Championship in Chantilly as well as 2020 European Bronze Champion Mare and 2022 Belgian National Unanimous Gold Champion Senior Mare; Melody J (out of Maja J / Extreme), 2015 European Silver Champion Yearling Filly and 2017 European Bronze Champion Junior Filly; Mounira J (out

of Magnificent Lady J / Extreme), 2018 European Gold Champion Junior Filly, as well as her full sister Merida J, 2018 Chantilly Bronze Champion Junior Filly and their full brother Morgan J, Gold Champion Yearling Colt of the 2019 AHO Breeders’ Championship in Chantilly and the 2019 European Championships; Furla J (out of Fudala J / Ekstern), 2018 Chantilly Bronze Champion Yearling Filly; Noora J (out of Noft Al Nayfat / Ajman Moniscione), 2022 Belgian National Silver Champion Junior Filly and 2022 Prague EuroCup Bronze Champion Junior Filly; and Paris J (out of Palabra / Enzo), 2015 Chantilly Gold Champion Junior Filly. Moreover, the daughters of Emerald J have already proved to be excellent broodmares. Dalia J (out of Danuta / Ekstern) is the dam of 2021 Belgian National Bronze Champion Junior Filly, Daliria J (by Excalibur EA), as well as Daliria’s full sister

Admiraal (Emerald J x Haniyyah) - Owner: Ajman Stud - Paola Drera

Dana J, 2018 Ströhen Silver Champion Junior Filly and 2020 European Bronze Champion Junior Filly, while the aforementioned Melody J, matched with Shiraz De Lafon (Shanghai EA – Diacira De Lafon / Khidar), produced the charming Montana J, 2019 Chantilly Gold Champion Yearling Filly.

It is only fitting that, with such a spectacular show and breeding career, the appreciation for Emerald’s abilities is expressed in more than one way, hence additional awards that this special stallion received include the 2017 AHW Horse of The Year as well as the platinum title at the 2023 edition of PSAIAHF.

When Christine, chasing her dreams of a brighter future for Jadem Arabians’ breeding programme, purchased the

one-of-a-kind embryo, she hoped for a special horse with potent producing powers. Little did she know that the bay colt, who seemed far from spectacular at first glance, would exceed her expectations in every way possible.

As a show champion and a sire, Emerald J succeeded beyond her wildest dreams. Not only has he provided the anticipated boost for her own breeding programme but he has also made a massive mark on the Arabian breed as a whole, generously sharing his superpowers to stamp his offspring with the most sought-after features of his famous ancestors with the broader community of breeders. Without a doubt, Emerald J holds true to his name as he is indeed a rare and precious jewel. As a matter of fact, he is a global treasure that should be cherished forever for all that he has done for the Arabian horse world. ■

European Breeders Challenge

Welcome to the European Breeders Challenge—an unique event that brings together European breeders and owners in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Our mission is simple yet profound: to encourage breeders to continue their passion, breeding top-quality horses, and showing them in a fun and fair competition where breeding excellence, respect, and camaraderie are the main talk of the show.

Launched in 2023 at select shows in Belgium, the European Breeders Challenge has quickly expanded, with The Netherlands, France, Germany, and Sweden joining our vision this year. We are beyond excited about what the future holds as we continue to spread the passion, joy, and enriching discussions about breeding across the globe!

So, how does it work? The European Breeders Challenge is open to breeders with fewer than 15 horses in their ownership. Competitors can participate in any of our events throughout Europe, earning points based on their rankings in their classes and championships. The more you participate, the more points you accumulate. The excitement culminates in the finals, where the horses are celebrated, and their owners have the chance to win incredible breeding rights, generously offered by supportive stallion owners.

This year’s Grand Champion won an extraordinary trip for two to the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival, kindly offered by Al Thumama Stud, Qatar—a true highlight for any Arabian horse enthusiast.

We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from Arabian horse lovers, friends, competitors, and breeders who have joined us on our vision and journey. The European Breeders Challenge is eager to grow even more, and we invite you to be a part of it. Keep your breeding spirits high and join us at our upcoming shows to collect your points and be a part of something truly special!
