U.S. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS The 2023 United States National Championships celebrated Arabian Horses, not only from America, but from around the world. Just as the vast majority of Americans can trace their heritage to countries beyond the borders of the U.S., so also can the Arabian horses bred there and that competed for the highest honors in the country this year... Although this report focuses on the Champions and Reserve Champions of the halter and breeding classes, there were more than 220 classes in halter and performance for purebred Arabian and half-Arabian horses with over 1700 horses entered to compete. This show truly demonstrates the rare beauty, versatility, and the athletic ability of the breed. Among the Champions and Reserve Champions of the show were horses making their debut, such as the yearling fillies and colts, as well as experienced competitors that have already earned National titles. In numerous classes, in both halter and performance, multiple past champions competed against each other to earn the sparkling silver trophy and brilliant red roses. While it was exciting for spectators to see so many high-quality horses in the ring together, it was extremely nerve-racking for the owners and trainers to see the final outcome. The jubilation and thrill of victory was always evident on the faces of the winners - those fortunate owners whose dreams came true. However, experienced breeders realize that ribbons and roses do not make a stallion a world-class sire, or a mare a champion producer. Speaking of world class sires, the high point sire of the 2023 U.S. Nationals Halter Champions was DOMINIC M (Da Vinci FM x Rosa La Valentina by DA Valentino). Born in 2011, DOMINIC M was bred by Anthony Marino Sr. and Anthony Marino Jr., and is owned by Steve and Christina Poore of Orrion Farms. DOMINIC M was

shown only once at the national level in the United States when he was just a yearling. He was named Top Ten in a class of 22 horses. While it was an important title, it gave no indication of his future breeding prowess. However, many breeders believed in him and their faith was rewarded beyond their wildest dreams. Now 12 years old, DOMINIC M has sired 96 foals registered in the United States, with additional foals sired during his lease to Brazil in 2013 and later during his journeys to the Middle East and Germany. DOMINIC M sired both this year’s National Champion Yearling Filly, BELLA Z, the Reserve National Champion Yearling Filly, OFW DIOR, and the National Champion Yearling Colt, OFW LEGEND. He also sired the big money winner, U.S. National Champion Breeding Pays Two-Year-Old Colt, STARDOM SKY, and numerous other National Top Ten winners as well. DOMINIC M is owned by and stands at Orrion Farms, which also earned the title of U.S. National High Point Halter Breeder. Among the familiar names of leading sires of this year’s National and Reserve National Champions was World Champion Marwan Al Shaqab, sire of two champion offspring this year. Also included in the exalted list of sires of champions were Rhan Al Shahania, RFI Unique, Preludio OSB, Ibn Farid, EKS Alihandro, Taj Raheem, Antares RCF, Atticus ENB, Delacroixx, and Royal Asad who also sired two champions. Continuing with the sires of champions, we find Supreme Justice ORA, Exxalt, TS Khidam El Shawan, FA El Rasheem, SF Veraz, Excalibur EA, Jiuliusz De Wiec, as well as the sires HP Ali, and Avatar AT. For the benefit of breeders reading this report, we’ve included the sire and dam, as well as the dam’s sire, breeders, and owners along with the photos of these champions. We congratulate the proud owners of these champions and reserve champions, as well as the top ten winners, who had the thrill of presenting them to the world. We also congratulate the breeders of these special horses for their contributions and for the accomplishments their programs have earned. To own a champion is most certainly an exhilarating thrill, but to breed a champion is the highest honor. Judging the U.S. Nationals is always a pleasure. Two of my favorite mares were the beautiful Exxaltress and Wiezas Diamond ORA. They just get better and better as they mature. One of the best young stallions I judged was unanimous National Champion Futurity Colt Aria LaCroix. In my opinion, he is masculine yet typey, very balanced, and quite correct in his structure, a total package horse.

There were hundreds of horses competing in the purebred halter and breeding classes at the U.S. Nationals. For owners and breeders, it is a chance to study the phenotype, or physical characteristics, of each individual horse as it is presented, and to study its pedigree by noting the sire and dam, and the dam’s sire, which are all published in the official show program. Serious breeders will have noticed the deep international influence throughout all of the breeding and halter competitors this year. Once again the stallions of Al Shaqab showed their strength with their numerous get and grand get. Proving their power over generations, champions include WIEZAS DIAMOND ORA (Supreme Justice ORA x Wieza Noor ORA by HARIRY AL SHAQAB). U.S. National Champion Junior Mare WIEZAS DIAMOND ORA was National Champion in 2022 and now again in 2023 shown by David Boggs for proud owner, Mr. Jose Alves of Haras JM of Brazil. The exquisite Reserve National Champion Senior Mare CHLOE EL VERAZ T has ties to Al Shaqab through her sire SF VERAZ, by GAZAL AL SHAQAB. Chloe El Veraz was also presented by David Boggs. World Champion MARWAN AL SHAQAB, legendary sire among the Al Shaqab stallions, sired both the Reserve National Champion Senior Stallion, ARIA MAJESTY and the Reserve National Champion Futurity Colt, MARVEL Z. Reserve National Champion Yearling Colt, RD RHAMBO, by World Champion RHAN AL SHAHANIA, was a very handsome representative of his sire. There were many other colts and stallions among the Top Ten winners with noteworthy bloodlines. However, space prohibits mentioning each one individually. European and South American breeding programs also showed very strongly at the U.S. Nationals this year with National Champion Senior Mare EXXALTRESS, by EXCALIBUR EA, claiming her third U.S. National Champion title following her wins in 2018 and 2020. The Reserve National Champion Two-Year-Old Colt, PREMARO VO, was sired by PRELUDIO OSB, a Brazilian National Champion imported to the U.S. by Valley Oak Arabians. National Champion Two-Year-Old Filly, QUEEN UNIQUE HEO, is a Brazilian-bred champion sired by RFI Unique. The U.S. National Silver Champion Breeding Pays Two-Year-Old Filly, ROYAL BLACK MOON, is by Royal Asad and out of the Brazilian mare Seduction HBV by Power World JQ. Another top winner was U.S. National Bronze Champion Breeding Pays Two-Year-Old Colt:HAZ AL BRSB, also sired by Royal Asad x Elegance AL by the imported Brazilian sire, Halyr Meia Lua. Although bred in the United States, National Champion Senior Stallion EL JAHEZ WH was purchased as a yearling colt and imported to Brazil by Lenita Perroy of Haras Meia Lua. He was Brazilian Gold Champion Three times, and a superb sire as well, before he was purchased by Danubius Arabians of Romania. After some time in Europe, his owners brought him back to America to claim his U.S. National Champion title. EL JAHEZ WH will remain in the U.S. and stand at Royal Arabians in Scottsdale, AZ. The purpose of highlighting the international influence of these champions is to remind us all how interdependant we are when it comes to breeding the best horses possible and all that we can accomplish when we work together for the love of the Arabian horse. ~ FINI

Twenty years is a long time. They are a period of time in which one has the opportunity to start something, to measure oneself on one’s perseverance, one’s effectiveness but above all on one’s capacity, one’s own and that of the team of people collaborating on a project, to continue to fulfil an expectation and to realise a dream. Every year the same commitment, every year the same desire to create something beautiful that will remain. I want to celebrate with all of you the 20th edition of the Arabian Stallions of the World Book not only for the satisfaction of being here today and being able to tell all of you about the pride I feel in holding this 20th edition in my hands, not only for the excitement of being unique in the world and having the opportunity to pass on this enormous number of excellent names, of stallions and their breeders and owners, who will remain forever in the memory of all of us and generations to come as the most important Arabian stallions who have touched this earth. But above all for the privilege of being part of this adventure together with all those who participated in the creation of the twenty volumes of this book. From the beginning, those who, together with me, contributed to the idea of this project, putting their creativity and perception into the very early stages of conception. Those who designed the entire graphic layout and those who realised it. Those who immediately believed in the project’s potential and wanted to be protagonists with their own stallion. The authors who have enriched all the editions of the book with articles imbued with the passion and legacy that has come down to us from the desert. The photographers who have always been the absolute pillars with the shots that have made generations
of breeders and enthusiasts dream, and who know how to express the peculiarities of each subject captured in the lens. The artists who portrayed absolute perfection in their paintings. All the people who have contributed year after year with new ideas, small changes, those who have taken care of the choice of the finest paper, the impeccable binding, the distribution, and those who have actually physically loaded hundreds of kilos on their shoulders and distributed it all over the world. For me this represents a great achievement, which moves me because 20 years ago I did not think I would write these lines even though I had a lot of faith in the project. In doing things, in realising projects, one never focuses on the future, only on the present one is living. And one never looks at oneself while making history. Only the outside look gives us back what has been accomplished and gives us the measure of the importance that what we have accomplished can have in the world. I believe that this book has great importance. It has it for me because as I bring it to all of you and consign it to history, I remember one by one the gaze of each owner who has placed her/his stallion on these pages, entrusting it to me in some way so that it could reach all of you through these editions, I remember each story, each circumstance, it has been part of my life like a child and I am proud and moved to have experienced it together with all of you. I have met Pamela Moell every year for a decade now at the most important morphology shows in Europe, mostly in Menton and at the World Championship in Paris. She is the owner with her husband of Moell&Moell Arabians which is house for top quality Arabian horses. A passion for Arabian horses and an established professional relationship with Tutto Arabi have always made talks and conversations obviously revolve around the special characteristics of this or that wonderful Arabian. But then also driven by the inspiration that gave birth to the LLL project dedicated to luxury, leisure and lifestyle, as its claim reads, I wondered who was behind one of the protagonists of the Arabian horse beauty show system. And I discovered a story that I want to tell you. Pamela is a beautiful 53-year-old woman from Sweden, her gaze resting on objects and people with curiosity, as if to discover what lies within, beyond the surface. Somehow this is exactly what she does in life, her profession. She markets surface coatings that have a soul. She deals in natural stone, with its disjointed and irregular surfaces, pieces of stone with a story to tell, which when laid emanate an evocative scent, and give a very precise imprint to the homes or places they cover. Beneath the surface a soul then. A soul that chooses and is chosen. As in life. From her social profiles shines through a desire, almost a need to tell her story, to explore what lies beneath that surface. Particularly on her business profile @stiltje.se Pamela entertains her more than 571,000 followers by suggesting inspirations taken from the world of interior design that always bring back that imprint given by natural materials, natural colors and that light that so gently skims the stone and transforms it to an enveloping

and soft invitation to return to the origins. Then in the midst of those posts is her emerging, without makeup and without filters, making it clear that behind that incredible avalanche of beauty and research there is a person who wants to take contact, who wants to go beyond the surface, who is telling us that there is a hidden world and inviting us to know it. Just as she does with stones and materials when clients ask her for interior design advice and she accompanies them to discover the ‘genius loci’ of the place where they live and the materials that can give voice to that unique narrative. How did the idea of opening Stiltje come about? It all started when I was looking for a stone floor for our house and couldn’t find anything I liked that was affordable in Sweden, so I decided to import it myself. I found a stone (just visible in picture) that I liked in India and decided to import a full container. Since it was much more than we needed, I sold the surplus at a local warehouse. I realized this was a way to make some money and imported another container. That was how STILTJE was born in 2001. The name STILTJE means “calm” in Swedish and that is how I want my materials to be from the beginning. Calm and persistent. They don’t need to be changed. My materials should live in the house for generations and become more and more beautiful. That was my idea from the beginning and it still holds true. What did it mean to you, what mark has it made in your life? Stiltje has had a huge impact on my life. I always say it is my fifth child. I gave birth to it and raised it with all the energy I had. It is a creation of the heart. I have a background as a molecular biologist, and at the time of the importation of my first conteiner I was working as a teacher. A job I enjoyed but that did not ignite my passion. So after building my own company

for a few years while working as a teacher, I took the plunge and worked only with my own company. It was one of the best steps of my life and I was able to do what I loved full time. It was incredibly hard work, but it was worth it to see the company grow from a dream to an international company. How did your passion for interior design and love of materials come about? It’s in my genes. My mother always dragged me to auctions and always had ideas that made simple things look fantastic. Stones have always appealed to me and since the age of 5 I have been part of a club of collectors of different stones. Stones have always been close to me because they carry with them a history far back in time. When I enter a church or an old building, I always look at the stones and feel the signs of the past. That is why I love only handmade materials and those from nature. They give a soul to the house. I rarely buy new items, and when I do, they are always handmade. What are your future prospects and plans? We are currently opening a showroom in Mallorca, and my intention is to work more with client projects, since now Stiltje is more or less going it by its own. I want to create houses with the spirit of Stiltje all over the world. I am also starting a new international webshop www.zellige.online for zellige tiles only, on which I want to have one of the best selections in the world. Which materials have the most market today and which are your favourites? All the materials I sell are my favorites but in different houses. I can’t sell things I don’t love. This has also been a rule from the beginning of the company. I don’t like trends in materials, because you should create a house that you love so much, that you don’t want to change it for any trend. This is trendy and good for our nature and future generations. Of course, Zellige is trendy, as we opened a webshop just for them, but recently someone asked me if I didn’t get tired of Zellige, and I don’t get tired of it. They can create so many different designs and can be used in both antique and modern interiors. When you tackle a project what do you start from? I always try to get into the mind of the client. It is not me who has to live in the house. It is not my soul that has to be visible in the house, but that of the owners, and my job is to help them find it. I always start with the “difficult” materials. Floors, windows, faucets, switches, etc. to get the feel of the house. These are also the elements that cannot be changed easily and must remain. Then continue with the “easy” parts. The more special the project, the longer it will take to find the right items. I have contacts all over the world to find them, but it takes time and the client needs to be aware of that. The more exclusive - the more time.

What are the must-haves in a renovation or design? In a renovation I always want to save the old things if possible. To keep the soul of the house and at the same time make it look and function more modern. Old houses are easier than new ones. For a new building the difficult thing is to give it character without being boring and rigid. In this case it is even more important to use natural materials that help the house become a home. For me, every project has to be special. I really care about the characteristics of the owner, the surroundings and the age of the house. It can be old, modern or somewhere in between, but the implementation of the project must give the house something special palpable when you enter it. This is my goal. You sell to international customers. How important is the use of social media in running your business? What contribution have they made to your management? For the past seven years, social media has been my only way to reach people. I have been very successful in this regard and have built my international market. It is a lot of hard work but also a huge opportunity for me, a small Swedish designer, to reach international attention and eventually become a household name in the industry. Thank you social media! Design and interior design is a world in which women are very much present, but in materials you are a pioneer! Today, based on your experience as a woman, entrepreneur and mother, is there anything you would like to say to women and mothers who are in entrepreneurship or thinking of starting a business? Just do it. And don’t do it in traditional women’s areas. They are too full of competition. Start in an area with few women. Be strong (and unfortunately we have to be a little stronger than men). Never be flirty, but look like a woman. Use your instincts as a woman and the talents we are the only ones to have and work hard. Do not be afraid to make mistakes, that is the part that takes you forward. And you will succeed.

The people who inspire me the most are mostly not in my field, but artists of various kinds. Art, sculptures, jewellery, etc. and of course Arabian horses!

Today I find material all over the world, there is no specific country that is better than another. One country is better on marble, one for processed limestone, many on different types of handmade tiles. I think I work with about 15 countries for tiles at the moment. For articles I also have collectors in Asia, in different countries, South America, Africa and many others. Pamela, it is a very interesting world of yours and I thank you for giving us a taste of it and for inspiring us with your words. We will treasure this.

To safeguard this philosophy, the historical walls that give this property its original charm and tell tales of times in the distant past are preserved. The Ortner family took great care to extend and restore the original hunting lodge. The renovations look like they have always been there. For example, locally grown wood was used in the vintage building when converting the second and third floors back in 2015. Modern technologies also found their way in, enabling to take the next steps towards sustainability. Heat and cosiness, for example, are now guaranteed by large solar panels and a wood pellet heating system, which is fuelled entirely by local resources. The beauty of nature is not just revealed in the garden but is reflected in the beautiful things inside the building, as the flowers that adorn the halls come from the Fragsburg Soul Garden and the surrounding meadows. Equally, the herbs picked in the garden are an important component in the tinctures and ointments in the healing spa. Plastic packaging is just as out of place here as the in in-room amenities such as spa bags and toiletries which are normally found in spa hotel bathrooms.
LLL A place of well-being A PLACE THAT ENCHANTS AND INSPIRES PEOPLE Castel Fragsburg is nestled in enchanted castle grounds which stretch out from the boutique retreat for more than 50,000 m², bordering with the highest waterfall in South Tyrol. Whoever crosses the entrance portal will feel as though they have stepped out of space and time, bursting with inspiration and oddly moved by long forgotten dreams and fairy tales. Castle HISTORICAL WALLS WITH STORIES TO TELL Castel Fragsburg, the 5-star hotel, was used as a hunting lodge for the lords of the nearby castle on the mighty clifftop from the 14th century, which nowadays is called affectionately Castel Fragsburg Paternum. For centuries, forces of nature have had the power to evoke fear and fascination at the same time. Despite the fact that natural powers like tornadoes, volcanoes and hurricanes often bring death and destruction, there is something captivating and awe-inspiring in the way that nature rules the world. Occasionally, an individual with a strong personality or character can also be compared to a force of nature. Like the massive energy of a hurricane heading in a certain direction with no regards for what stands in its way, such individuals are unstoppable and unforgettable. Once in a while, a remarkable representative of the Arabian breed is brought to the world that resembles an unstoppable force. This is the story of such an individual, the electrifying EKS Farajj (Ibn Farid – EKS Bint Helwah / Laheeb) – a force of nature in its own right. The story has begun on a cold and stormy night of 15th June 2017, when a grey colt was welcomed into the world at Elkasun Arabians of South Africa. The stud comprises of around ten to fifteen highquality mares and except for well-known sires, Willie Brown, the owner and founder of Elkasun Arabians, occasionally gives a chance to unknown and unproven stallions. Centre in Italy, he fell in love with a stunning Straight Egyptian mare Helwah AA (Al Ayad – Al Halah AA / Laheeb) who soon after gave birth to a beautiful grey filly by Laheeb (Imperial Imdal – AK Latifa / Ibn Moniet El Nefous), later named EKS Bint Helwah in honour of her delightful dam. Shortly after, both the dam and her daughter were travelling to their new home in South Africa. In 2015, Willie purchased a three-year-old bay RFI Farid son named Ibn Farid (out of Asawir / Marajj). It took great courage to breed all of his mares to the unknown and unproven stallion, including EKS Bint Helwah. When the first foal by Ibn Farid was welcomed to the world, he was named EKS Farajj which among many translations from Arabic means ‘fortune’. From the very start, Willie knew how fortunate he was yet little did he expect how successful this newborn dark-grey colt foal would soon become. EKS Farajj, purchased by the well-known Al Khashab Stud of Kuwait, debuted in the show ring at Sharjah International Arabian Horse Show in 2019 in the hands of Glenn Schoukens with whom he had an amazing connection from the very start. As a dark-grey two-yearold colt, he made a great impression on the judges, winning his class among sixteen high-quality colts with a high

On the day of the finals, Farajj clearly stood out from eight excellent contenders of the junior colts’ competition so much so that three judges voted for him to become gold medallist. Just two weeks later, Farajj appeared in another Middle Eastern arena at Dubai International Arabian Horse Show, where he placed second in his class after a tie with Admiraal (Emerald J – Haniyyah / Psytadel), who received a slightly higher score for type. The impressive score of
93.00 points was the highest among junior colts, as the winner of three-yearold class AJ Kafu (Shanghai EA – AJ Kahayla / QR Marc) received the same final mark. The three junior colts with the score of 93.00 points had an even chance of winning in the championships and after a fair fight in the finals, the medals were divided among the highest scorers. Getting more and more used to

the show arena, Farajj received two votes for gold and repeated his success from Sharjah, becoming Silver Champion Junior Colt, giving the highest place on the podium to the older and more developed AJ Kafu yet outdistancing his main rival in the class, Admiraal, who eventually became bronze medallist. After these two major accomplishments in the Middle East, there came a time
for the young colt to enter some of the most serious contests in Europe. The first tough test for the young colt was the Mediterranean and Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championship in Menton, France, where Farajj came face to face with very strong competitors. In the heat of the French Riviera, he finished the only class of two-year-old colts in the second position with 91.75 points
and a twenty for movement. The junior male championship was dominated by the three-year-old colts and Farajj had to settle for the bronze medal, still an impressive accomplishment at such a prestigious show. From then on, it was obvious that EKS Farajj is the force to be reckoned with. difficult shows not only in Europe but in the world. After an easy victory in the two-year-old colts’ division with 92.55 points, including two twenties for type and two more for head, Farajj reached the top of the podium and became All Nations Cup Gold Champion Junior Colt, outdistancing HL EL Ganador (HP Shakir-Te – Lonco Baby Maria / HP Emir), the 2019 Menton Gold Champion Junior Colt and his main rival, as well as D Ibn Rasheem (FA El Rasheem – Angeliccah / Marwan Al Shaqab), another international multi-champion. It was yet another prestigious title to be added to Farajj’s fast-growing collection of trophies. After this spectacular success in Aachen, the beautifully developing colt that was feeling more and more at ease in the show ring did not rest on the laurels, having one more major test
ahead of him, the 2019 World Arabian Horse Championships in Paris. The enthusiasm and apprehension among his team reached their peak and the pressure on his upcoming performance in the Parisian ring was on. After a perfect presentation in the class with his good friend Glenn Schoukens on the lead, Farajj was awarded with the welldeserved first place and a total score of 92.57 points, including seven twenties: four for type, two for head and neck and one for movement. It was clear as day that he was one of the strongest contenders for the coveted title of World Gold Champion Junior Colt and he did not disappoint either his team or his most avid admirers. In the finals, Farajj stormed into the ring like a tornado, leaving no doubts as to who should reach for gold. Actually, the podium in Paris mirrored the one in Aachen where
EKS Farajj took the gold, while HL EL Ganador and D Ibn Rasheem had to settle for the silver and bronze medals respectively. Without a doubt, 2019 was the year of EKS Farajj. After such a successful year, Farajj had nothing more to prove as a junior colt and thus he did not make an appearance in any shown arena as a three-year-old. Instead, he started fulfilling his duties in the breeding barn at the Schoukens Training Center, one of the best centers in the world, and had not returned to the show ring for another three and a half years. For this reason, his comeback as a six-year-old stallion was eagerly anticipated by anyone curious about his further development. The year 2022 is marked with golden letters for EKS Farajj. the vision of excellence of His Majesty the King of Morocco this one-of-akind stallion has been purchased by one of the most prestigious studs in the history of the Arabian horse world: the one and only Haras Royal de Bouznika. With no surprise, Farajj has found the best place from where to shine again in the world show arenas. And so it is, Farajj was one of the participants of the prestigious Mediterranean and Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championship in Menton in June 2023, representing Haras Royal the Bouznika and the Kingdom of Morocco. It was worth waiting so long to witness Farajj’s transformation into a superb senior stallion full of show attitude and charisma. Abundant in type and literally flying in the air, he did not fail to amaze the audience in Menton performing at his best again in the hands of Glenn. far behind and won his class with an impressive score of 93.83 points with a full set of twenties for type, additional five for head and neck and another four for his ground-covering trot. The Senior Stallion Championship was like the clash of Titans! It was evident that the two winners of senior stallions’ classes, EKS Farajj and D Seraj (FA El Rasheem – Lady Veronika / Versace), were aiming for gold. As a matter of fact, all the judges’ votes for gold and silver were equally divided between the young debuting Farajj and the older, yet very accomplished D Seraj. The tie between the two was resolved by taking the class score into consideration. The difference of just 0.17 points in favour of D Seraj tipped the scale of victory to his side. Nevertheless, EKS Farajj was very close in reaching for gold while he also outdistanced another highlydecorated show horse, the 2021 World Bronze Champion Senior Stallion,

Harbi Al Adwan (Asfoor Al Waab – Wadha Al Adwan / Fayad Alfayyad), who eventually took the third place on the podium. As the 2023 All Nations Cup contender, Farajj repeated his phenomenal performance from Menton and again took the class podium with the incredible score of 93.08 points, including twelve twenties (three for type, four for head and five for movement). Just a few hours later, he was proudly wearing the well-deserved silver medal on his chest, adding another historical win to his rapidly growing collection of trophies, much to the unconcealed delight of his new owner, Haras Royal the Bouznika. It is more than obvious that the Silver Champion titles for Farajj in both Menton and Aachen indicate his readiness to dominate the podium of the most significant show this year, the World Championships in Doha, Qatar. At the end of the day, he already did it as a junior colt, starting his career with
silver and bronze medals and working all the way to the top to reach for gold at this immensely important event. Despite the fact that Farajj is still a very young stallion, he already proved to be a superb sire of outstanding offspring. His first foal crops comprise of some very promising show progeny. It is enough to mention that his foals dominated the yearling fillies’ and colts’ finals of the prestigious Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Arabian Horse Festival in 2023. Five out of six medals for yearlings were awarded to Farajj’s offspring! Gold Champion title in the fillies’ section went to SF Nora (out of SF Ghazalah / Besson Carol), silver medal was awarded to Loulwah Raghwan (out of Daina Almuawd / Psytadel), while Katara BK (out of Shalfa Almuawd / Sabea Almuawd) became Bronze Champion Yearling Filly. Gold and Silver Champion titles were divided between Sari Ajmal (out of Bint Bessolea / Marwan Al Shaqab) and Sahm Sarm (out of Bandahleeza ZB / Emerlad J). Additionally, Farajj’s daughter Bint Rshediah Alkhashab (out of Rshediah Alkhashab / EKS Alihandro) took the third place on the podium and the bronze medal in the Junior Fillies’ Championship. Farajj’s progeny made their mark at the significant A-show, the 2022 and 2023 Katara International Arabian Horse Festival. Last year, his son Amos SH (out of Thalita KA / QR Marc) became Silver Champion Junior Colt, while this year another two yearlings by Farajj, Sarab Ajmal (out of Meqbilat Athbah / QR Marc) and the abovementioned SF Nora, won two bronze medals in their respective categories. Also in the European show arenas Farajj stood out as a sire. Two of his offspring from the first crop were shown as foals. The 2021 bay filly Feuer Tatjana (out of
JCJ Feuer Lady / Feuer Jade) became European Bronze Champion Filly Foal, while the 2021 grey colt Majd Alkhashab (out of Jude MS / Abha Ubangui) was named Erlan Cup Gold Champion Colt Foal. Another filly foal, the 2022 grey BG Nabilla (out of Najma / Ajman Moniscione) reached for the gold medal at the first edition of United Crown Cup, while the 2023 bay colt foal Saif Al Awamrh (out of Sima AH) became Unanimous Gold Champion at this year’s edition of Arabian Futurity Europe in Aachen. Also in Aachen, at one of the most significant shows in the world, two yearling colts sired by Farajj, Nesj El Jameel (out of Nesj El Yuliah / Ajman Moniscione) and the aforementioned Sahm Sarm, won the coveted titles of the 2023 All Nations Cup Silver and Bronze Champion Yearling Colt respectively. They became Bronze Champion Yearling Filly and Bronze Champion Yearling Colt respectively. What is more, Sire KA secured the second place on the podium as well as the silver medal at the 2022 European Championships in Lier, Belgium. Last but not least, this year at the Arabian Horse Event in Bruges, Farajj’s 2021 grey colt Roe Raheeb (out of ZT Ludjbrosiaa / Ludjin EL Jamaal) won the bronze medal in the Junior Colts’ Championship. Surely, being only six-years-old, EKS Farajj has not said his last word as a sire and his future offspring is awaited with great apprehension by many Arabian horse breeders. Approaching the show arena like a hurricane or a tornado, showing off
like an exploding volcano, energetic, charismatic and full of confidence, EKS Farajj resembles a natural phenomenon that evokes fear in his competitors and fascination among his admirers.
