Charlotte’s Look : Interview for Mami Magazine Your Name : My name is “Charlotte’s Look”. I’m a swiss model, modelscout & coach, Image Consultant & an award winner as creative director. I’m one of the Muse of Photographer & Webby Award winner - Guiseppe LaSpada - and I was part of Topmodel tvshow. Since 2013, I’ve walked 3x Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week. When did you start ? It’s difficult to tell about one specific moment. At about 16 years old a photographer in Paris discovered me on Internet and asked me to do my first shooting. In 2010, I did the Benetton/Sisley online shop in Switzerland and since then I’ve began to receive some shooting requests in Switzerland & Paris. 2013, I was part of Top Model TV show and the same year I’ve walked for 11 designers at Berlin Fashion Week. As creative director I organise some shootings with my “Charlotte’s Look” spirit. For example, in 2013, My “Black & White Queens” shooting won an award in category photography manipulation. As an independent models & talents scout I’m working with international agencies/photographers since 2013. What were your influences ? I love everything is out of the box, fashionable, avant-garde and fresh. I’m also an unconventional model, very flexible with different looks. Some people compare me to Grace Jones for her creative & crazy mind. I don’t have really one inspiration. I prefer to inspire others with my personality. My favourite brands are: Cavalli, Versace, Lagerfeld, Hugo Boss & MK. I like influential strong women like Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and singer Rihanna. I love the fashion blog of my swiss friends “Kayture”, Italian blogger “Mariano Di Vaio” and the sweet blogger of “Song of style”. What was your best modelling experience ? I have a plenty of good memories of my travels but I think my favourite creative & inspiring place is in Berlin/Germany. My first time there I walked for 9 designers. Second time in Berlin, I walked for Charlie Le Mindu (Lady Gaga’s Hairdresser) in collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. For this show MAC Cosmetics made us a body painting in gold and we walked with High Gaga Shoes outside during the night with specific lights. Gaga also used some of his creations in her videoclip “G.U.Y”. One other moment I will always remember is when I walked for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin to expose more African Diaspora. The Mercedes-Benz Showfloor in Berlin was one of my best modelling experience and runway floor. Such an amazing & electric feeling when everyone is crazy in backstage and then the assistant tells you: “It’s your turn”. During the final show we were dancing on stage together, designers and models, with the song “ Get Lucky” by Pharrell Williams/Daft Punk. What are you doing now ? I’m still doing modelling for some campaigns, editorials or runway shows but in the moment I put a lot of energy as model scout/coach and image consultant. Charlotte’s Look also describes my way to discover some new face or

MAMi Magazine 30

What are your plans for the future ? I rarely talk about my future projects because I prefer to formalize once they are developed. I will still being model, modelscout and image consultant but in the near future I want to collaborate more with magazines, organise fashion shows and become a booker in a TOP International agency in Paris or Germany. I’ve got some requests to be also actress in comedy shows but I will do it steps by steps. Let’s be open to the future .

established models, photographers, designers, enterprises and other talents. I love to find unknown people tells them “You’ve got talent”, coach them as image consultant until they sign with agencies or find their way in fashion industry. In collaboration with some bookers, agencies and clients I try to build their portfolio and place them for international jobs. I’m now building my “scout&manager” portfolio but my website will be online later 2015. Until then you can find me on Facebook: Charlotte’s Look.

DRINKIN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON? Do us all a favor (including yourself ) and party smart. Be responsible. Pace yourself if you choose to drink, and avoid hard alcohol or other drinks that are powerful and have fast effects. (And remember that drunks = easy targets.) Also be aware of alcohol poisoning. According to a University of Wisconsin study, 75 percent of college males and 43 percent of females reported being intoxicated on a daily basis during the holidays If you do decide to drink, know the liquor laws of wherever you’ll be spending the Holidays. Drinking & driving is always a dangerous situation, so avoid this by having your safe mode of transportation home planned before you go out.

he Amadeo Double Magnum Decanter and Horse Decanter from Riedel Crystal, the 300-year old heritage crystal house. It’s not every day that wine accessories stand up against bespoke suits and fine jewelry, but these couture-level pieces perform both as high functioning wine tools and masterful works of art. The Amadeo Double Magnum is the statement piece for a wine lover, art collector, or home decorator. Standing over 2-feet tall and at nearly $2,000, it is both the largest and most expensive piece ever produced by Riedel. Designed by CEO Maximilian Riedel specifically to decant and enhance enjoyment of 3-litre bottles, the Double Magnum requires three of Austria’s most skilled master glass blowers to mouth-blow a single piece over several days. With only 100 made annually, the statement-making Amadeo Double Magnum is as rare, special, and unique as the large format collectible bottles it gracefully decants. Equally as coveted is Riedel’s new Horse decanter, a statuesque tabletop showpiece defined by the equine profile decorating its interior. Much like the stately animal, the Horse decanter ($525) is more than just an object of beauty: it’s a performer, a powerful wine tool that accelerates aeration when shaken, improving wine’s aromas and flavor profile. Both are available for the holiday season at www.Riedel. com and Bloomingdale’s.

EARTH WIND & FIRE

INTERVIEW BY ZOILA ROBLEDO

MAMi Magazine 54

EWF

A CHRISTMAS ALBUM “Music is always a reflection of what’s going on socially, and what people are experiencing. It’s not for me to say, what I think about lyrics. There are some lyrics that I hear, and I think, “Wow, really?” It’s not what I would call edifying, necessarily, and not necessarily great lyrics. But, you know, we’re all in this, and everybody’s trying to make their mark.” MAMi Magazine contributing writer & interviewer, Zoila Robledo, recently had the opportunity to sit down with the iconic band, Earth, Wind & Fire’s Ralph Johnson, to talk about the band’s brand new album release, “Holiday”. MAMi: Congratulations on the release of Earth, Wind & Fire’s latest album, “Holiday”. Ralph: Well, thank you! MAMi: I believe this is your band’s second release on the Sony Legacy Music label. Is that correct? Ralph: Yes, the first one being released last September (2013), which was “Now, Then & Forever”. MAMi: How is the band enjoying the relationship with Sony Legacy? Ralph: It’s a very comfortable relationship, because we have a long time history with Columbia, which is Sony, so it’s all the same thing. So, it’s a very comfortable relationship that works well and everybody’s trying to make it even better. MAMi: I have to ask the burning question, that everyone around the world wants to know. Ralph: Uh oh! What’s the burning question? MAMi: After four long decades of producing world class music as a band, what finally inspired Earth, Wind & Fire to produce their first ever Christmas themed album? Ralph: Well, first off, when Maurice White was at the helm, he wasn’t really interested in doing a Christmas record, because everyone else was doing them, and it was just another record to

put out there. So while Maurice was leading the group, it was never really a thought. It wasn’t until earlier this year (2014), when myself, Verdine and Damian, our manager, were at the Sony after party for the Grammy’s, standing there talking to Adam Block, the President of Sony Legacy, and he said, “Man you guys should do a Christmas record”. And we were like, “Hmmm, a Christmas record?” So that started the whole process. MAMi: Out of all of the Christmas song classics that are out there to choose from, what was the selection process for choosing the titles for the “Holiday” album? Ralph: Well, I have to tell you, the Holiday album is basically Philip’s project, in terms of the production, so I don’t know what his criteria, or what his process was for selecting the songs. He just knew that he wanted to do songs that had been established; what we call public domain songs. So it just kind of started there, as there’s so much Christmas stuff out there, so you really do have a lot to choose from. I don’t know exactly what his process was, but it came together nicely! MAMi: Did any of the other former EW&F band members, like Larry Dunn, Andrew Woolfolk, or Al McKay, make any musical contributions to this “Holiday” album? Ralph: No, not at all. It was our rhythm section, headed up by our M.D. (Musical Director), Myron McKinley. It was totally internal. MAMi: How did the concepts for “December” and “Happy

MAMi Magazine 55

MAMiMagazine

EWF

A CHRISTMAS ALBUM Seasons” come to life? Ralph: Well, how do I answer that? I guess “December” is a good fit for “September”, and then you know, “Happy Seasons” came out of “Happy Feelings”, so it was a smart move! In music publishing, that’s what we a call “A new Copyright”! Hahaha! So now that’s a new copyright, and that’s good! MAMi: Some years back, Earth, Wind & Fire toured with the band Chicago, is that correct? Ralph: Yes, that’s correct. We did that a few times. MAMi: Do you have any plans to do any other tour collaborations with other bands, in the future. Ralph: No. Not to my knowledge. That’s not something that we’re sitting around discussing. But you never know. MAMi: Do you have any shows planned for the “Holiday” album? Ralph: There are some events and appearances planned around “Holiday”, so we’ll see how that plays out. MAMi: How many cities is EW&F touring annually? Ralph: That’s a very good question. We do about a hundred dates a year, maybe. If it’s spread out over the year, and if you add up the foreign dates, with the domestic dates, it could be up to a hundred. Well, you know, we have been very blessed. We don’t need an opening act. We can still put people in the seats, by ourselves. That’s kind of a blessing these days, because we’re still one of the biggest selling acts around, so we appreciate that. We love it, and we don’t take it for granted. We just continue to try to do the best that we can. MAMi: Out of all of your many achievements, such as being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, performing for President Obama’s first social event, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, what stands out as your favorite accomplishment? Ralph: Well, I think the ‘first’ of anything is special. So my first Gold record stands out; my first Grammy. And do you know what else really stands out, that was a first for me? Because

MAMi Magazine 56

I’m very much about the education of our young music students, I have honorary PhD’s from Columbia College (of Chicago). Those kinds of things are very special. They mean a lot. That means somebody’s paying attention. MAMi: When you’re not performing, what do you do to get away from the music, and just relax? Do you have hobbies? Ralph: I get on the tennis court! I absolutely love it! I was gone for two hours this morning, working on all my strokes. Everything’s coming together. I’m working on my short game, back-hand slice and drop-shot! MAMi: What have you learned from Maurice White, when it comes to producing music? Ralph: Pay attention to detail. Have a strong song. There’s no need for you to try to bring a mule to the horse race. You just give it your very best. Go all in. I mean, I love production. I absolutely love it. And so, for a lot of years, I sat up under Maurice, and I’d ask questions, to not only him, but also to our engineer, George Massenburg. MAMi: When thinking about Earth, Wind & Fire lyrics, one tends to think about love and celebrating life. What are your views on today’s music lyrics? Ralph: Well, you know, music is always a reflection of what’s going on socially, and what people are experiencing. It’s not for me to say, what I think about lyrics. There are some lyrics that I hear, and I think, “Wow, really?” It’s not what I would call edifying, necessarily, and not necessarily great lyrics. But, you know, we’re all in this, and everybody’s trying to make their mark. All I can do is give you my very best, when I give you something. That’s what I always set out to do. MAMi: How did you get turned on to Jazz? Ralph: It started when I was fourteen, when my older

MAMiMagazine MAMi Magazine 57

MAMiMagazine

brother came home from the Air Force with an incredible album collection. I just started listening to it, and just became intrigued. I was like “Wow, what is this?” I just kept going with it, and just started listening to it. And the very first Jazz rhythm that I ever learned was, Cannonball Adderley’s “Jive Samba”, with that Bossa Nova beat. That’s how my journey started into the world of Jazz. In terms of “who” some of my favorite artists are, I’d have to say, Miles, Coltrane, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Max Roach, Jazz drummer Philly Joe Jones, Wes Montgomery, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson and Oliver Nelson. It goes on and on, and on. Those are some of my favorites and people I was listening to on the way up, and that’s what started me down the road. MAMi: What are the top three things on your “Bucket List”? Ralph: Well, I’ll tell you. I currently have three things, and that could change. Number one was, as a publisher/ writer, to write a great Christmas song. Number two is to go for a ride with the Navy’s Blue Angels or the Air Force Thunderbirds. Number three is to go scuba diving with the manta rays in the Sea of Cortez, down in Mexico. I have to say, that I have completed the first item, and it’s checked off the list! MAMi: What is your “Go to” comfort meal? Ralph: Bacon and eggs! Bacon and eggs, with the eggs over-easy, then give me some toast, and I’m cool. That’s a meal where we can come in late at night, into a hotel, after traveling all day, and have bacon and eggs, and then I can go to sleep! It’s been that way, since I was a kid. MAMi: What’s your top fashion weakness? Is that something you can admit to, and share with Smooth Jazz Magazine? Ralph: I have two fashion weaknesses. One weakness is Paul Smith socks! The next time you find yourself in New York, go over to Neiman Marcus, and go into the men’s department, where they have their socks, and ask them for “Paul Smith” socks. They’re very graphic, with all kinds of designs and crazy colors. I will get in my car and drive right over here to Neiman Marcus, valet my car, walk in straight to the men’s department, and see what the latest Paul Smith socks are, then I’ll grab them, pay and leave! My other fashion weakness is for black, soft jeans. Not the regular hard denim, rather, black soft jeans. They are so comfortable, as they fall nice, and they look nice. So now you have it. You have some good inside stuff on me,

MAMi Magazine 58

now. So if you want to make me happy, and be my friend, bring me Paul Smith socks! MAMi: Aside from your band, EW&F, you’ve previously been a part of another Jazz/Smooth Jazz group, called “Audio Caviar”. Can you tell us more about that? Ralph: Audio Caviar, which was my offering to the world of Smooth Jazz, but actually, I don’t really like to term it “Smooth Jazz”, because it’s really World Music, when you listen to the whole cd, from start to finish, it just takes you on one big ride. That’s probably why I haven’t done a second one yet, because I’m trying to figure out how to top the first one! Because, Marcel East and I, really rolled up our sleeves and got busy with that record. Audio Caviar is a very special project, with the writing on it, and the production. It’s really cool stuff, and I’m very happy about the way that it turned out, but it is time to do another one. I just have other things that I’m working on and completing, especially, as we move into the holiday season. MAMi: Are you currently working on any other projects right now? Ralph: Well, I have to tell you, as an artist, I have released a Christmas song, featuring the great Siedah Garrett, that we co-wrote, and I produced. It’s called, “Have a Very Merry Christmas”. We’re releasing it into the Smooth Jazz world, and as a matter of fact, we’re doing a mail out tomorrow. I am very happy with the way that’s turned out. Actually, there’s a back story to the song, as the track was actually wrote for Earth, Wind & Fire, and because we were only doing public domain material, I had to kind of re-think the direction, and how I was going to complete the song. Something just said to me, “Call Siedah Garrett”. She heard the track and loved it, and she began to write on it, and so here we are with, “Have a Very Merry Christmas”. MAMi: Is there a release date for “Have a Very Merry Christmas”? Ralph: The rest of the world can look forward to hearing it on your local Smooth Jazz stations, and it will be available on iTunes for download, along with a Ringtone, that’s available. We’re excited about it! I’m very happy with what Siedah and I put together, and with everybody else enjoying it. It’s gonna be a fun thing! MAMi: Is this your first time working with Siedah? Ralph: Yes, it’s my first time working with Siedah. She’s so much fun, and very gregarious! She’s very animated! She’s something, she really is, and just a great spirit! We’re both from Los Angeles. It’s a real cool connection, and we’ve done something that I’m really, really, really proud of. So there you have it! MAMi: Thank you, Ralph, for sharing these exciting things with Smooth Jazz Magazine, and we wish Earth, Wind & Fire the greatest success to come!

Earth Wind & Fire – ‘Holiday’ Album Review – By: Zoila Robledo (10/24/14) The decades-long wait for an Earth, Wind & Fire, first ever, holiday album, is officially over! The legendary multi-genre musicologists, Earth, Wind & Fire, have unveiled their latest album, an epic gift to the world, appropriately entitled, “Holiday”. This energetically inspiring collection features Earth, Wind & Fire’s fresh spin on Christmas holiday themed standards that are sure to soar among the band’s already distinguished repertoire of globally treasured music, within their rich musical dynasty. A vibrant result of blended artistic synergies from EW&F original band members Ralph Johnson, Philip Bailey and Verdine White, this album resurrects nostalgia from the influential musical decades of the 70’s and 80’s, when Earth, Wind & Fire dominated R&B and Pop music charts, across the world. This thirteen track melodic holiday celebration boasts the band’s beloved signature music style, smoothly polished vocals, and perfectly balanced by lush horn and string arrangements. Holiday offers a conglomerate mix of R&B, Jazz and Gospel influences, as this gem unfolds into a festive musical journey. Inciting a range of emotions from the listener, Holiday entertains, from the upbeat, foot-stomping rejoicing felt on “Joy to the World”, as well as the calm gratitude of praise on “O Come All Ye Faithful”, while one is instantly filled with excitement on “Happy Seasons”, a wonderful twist from EW&F’s own 70’s hit, “Happy Feelings”. A definite favorite is, “What Child Is This”, which is quite reminiscent of their hit, “Fantasy”. Anyone will welcome this album as a new holiday essential, as well as a beautifully spirited soundtrack to listen to as you’re traveling about this Christmas holiday season, whether you’re out in the hustle & bustle among holiday shoppers, on the road driving, flying the friendly skies, or cruising to holiday destinations across the map! All ‘N All, Holiday is a masterfully crafted album, that’s sure to be recognized as a timeless masterpiece, for generations to come. For avid EW&F enthusiasts everywhere, please take note, that from this space and time, as we know it, this spirited masterpiece ushers in a new Earth age, of sorts, transitioning from life before ‘Holiday’, to life after, ‘Holiday’. Enjoy! Ralph Johnson and Siedah Garrett Single Review Zoila Robledo “Each and every holiday season, I try to find an anthem that measures up to Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas”, and I think this year, I may have finally found it! It’s no surprise that the two names behind the writing and production of the work are part of our collective musical vernacular... Ralph Johnson, the brilliant long time EW&F member and Grammy winning writer/vocalist, Siedah Garrett, who was first brought into our musical consciousness by Quincy himself. These two have

obvious musical chemistry that creates an alchemy of smooth soul, and contemporary R&B. This sounds like a contemporary soul chestnut to me... With all the negativity in the world, Siedah and Ralph remind us that the warmth of ornately crafted music can elevate our collective experience, and bring real joy to the holiday season. - Cameron Smith, Senior Acct. Director at CBS Corporation “I was pleasantly exhilarated after hearing just one play of this song! Every element of the track blended, beautifully! Siedah’s silk-like voice is a perfect compliment to the music’s flow. What I appreciate about this particular “Christmas” song, is that it’s so genuinely filled with a calm enjoyment of love & relaxation. It’s a very stress-free, romantically playful and contemporary story that Siedah unveils, vocally. I’m an avid music enthusiast, and listener of the Smooth Jazz genre of music, and this song was born on that foundation. Shamara is an irrepressible, sister-girlfriend for women everywhere. She offers the female perspective for men who adore her no-nonsense attitude. The Legend of Flyy Girl by Kearni Warren

B

efore there was a yearly $300 million dollar industry of Urban book sells in American Literature, there was Omar Tyree, a native Philadelphian and writer out of Howard University’s School of Communications. With a Degree in Print Journalism in 1991 and a gift of storytelling, Tyree formed his own publishing company, MARS Productions from a Hyattsville, Maryland apartment, where he stocked his first three titles; Colored, On White Campus, Flyy Girl, and Capital City in 1992, 1993, and 1994 respectively; which made his living room resemble a full warehouse with piles of brown boxes of books. Ten years later, the determined Philadelphian made history as a New York Times bestselling author, an NAACP Image Award winner, and a literary icon not only in America, but in the Caribbean Islands, Canada and Great Britain. Now with twenty-two years of experience, the veteran author has published twentyseven books with more than 2.5 million copies sold worldwide, and his most popular 3-book series of Flyy Girl, For the Love of Money and Boss Lady have been optioned by Code Black and Lionsgate Films to possibly become the next big feature film franchise. MAMi: It’s been quite a few years since the original publication of Flyy Girl, how does it feel to have the book series optioned by Code Black and Lionsgate Films? OT: To tell you the truth, I can’t really say until I actually see a script and we start the production. There are plenty of projects that are optioned without even being produced, but we’re hoping and praying for it, I’ll tell you that. MAMi: What was your inspiration for the story and the title of Flyy Girl? OT: I grew up in that flyy era of the 1980s when the term was used every day. So, I simply wrote about that era and all of the girls and guys who had that flyy flavor in Philly, and of course, they had it up in New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, DC and anywhere else where urban teenagers followed our lead.

MAMi Magazine 100

MAMi: Did you imagine Flyy Girl would be as big of a success as it was or have the impact that it did, creating the genre and movement of “urban fiction”? OT: Well, let’s just say that I was excited about putting it out, but I had no idea that it would lead to a brand new culture of books. I was just looking at the book to stand on its own, not really to build a mountain but that’s what happened; Flyy Girl created an urban storm and hundreds of other urban books came out after it. MAMi: The Flyy Girl franchise tells a coming of age story about the main character who is female. How were you able to capture both a young girl’s and woman’s mentality throughout the series, including writing poetry from a woman’s point of view? OT: That’s just the gift of a writer. You study everything with the hopes of getting it right. So, I studied the flyy girls and guys around me and tried to write the best books that I could. It’s pretty much like a rapper pulling together the perfect song. The mission is to capture the times and make them the most memorable and with books you have to capture the best characters. MAMi: After much success, you thought next about branding. Was this to seize the national momentum of the books? You not only created Flyy Girl magazine but merchandise as well with Flyy Girl tank tops and a brand logo. OT: Yeah, I trademarked everything to make sure I had it all covered. I did that after the third book release in the series called Boss Lady in 2005. I didn’t want anyone to try and jump on the bandwagon as opportunists. So, the fashion magazine idea and merchandising is all still viable. I even had a

Flyy Girl theme song with film soundtrack ideas. MAMi: Do you have an idea of who you would want to star as the main character in a Flyy Girl film? Has Cold Black or Lionsgate discussed it yet? OT: They have, but until she’s actually in the movie and it’s all a wrap, I’m not at liberty to say. Things can change lighting fast in Hollywood, and with the series being three books from her teen years and into adulthood, we could end up with a young actress and an older actress, depending on the final script ideas and how many films we’re able to pull out of the franchise. So, all ideas are on the table at this point. Nothing has been committed to yet. MAMi: I know there are many young urban girls and women, myself included, who would love to see Flyy Girl finally shown on the big screen. There aren’t many coming of age movies for those demographics. I’m very excited! OT: Well, I’ll tell you this, we can’t just talk about it, we have to be about it. The proof will be in the pudding. So if the urban girls and their boyfriends come out in the millions to support the film, including the people in my age bracket who came up in the 1980s, we’ll be able to get two or three films out of it and then start working on my other book adaptations. I’m still loaded with them. MAMi: According to Pew Research for 2013, college educated, Black American females have the highest percentage for reading at least one book during the year 2013. With these results, how has the process been moving forward from book to film? OT: It’s been difficult. African-American women may read like that, but we still have a much smaller reading population than the mainstream, so we still have to prove that we have a large enough audience to provide the numbers to equal a successful. Will this movie be able to attract suburban girls and guys, Latinos and Asians, and inspire folks from oversees

MAMiMagazine like the books did? Hollywood looks at all of that. So, we all to remain optimistic that a Flyy Girl franchise can break the blockbuster level of $100 million and counting. Can it do that? We’ll soon see. MAMi: And if that happens, what does that mean for you? What’s next? OT: I have an urban horror book based in New Orleans called Leslie. I have a Sweet St. Louis love book based in Missouri. I got a Harlem, New York crime book called The Last Street Novel. I have a music industry book called Just

Say No! A “James Bond” series called The Traveler. Man, I have a whole lot of stuff, including new book ideas on the way but first, we gotta get this Flyy Girl movie out. So keep praying for it. Racism and Oppression are diseases of the mind. A cancer of sort handed down generationally. A kind of psychosis, a mental illness. This year alone i have heard more incidents of police violence against primarily Black / Brown targets. Maybe its because of the proliferation of social media and mobile devices. Its an illness we thought was diminishing only to find that it is alive and well and now wearing a badge and guns. Lets take away the uniforn and we have people against people. Oppression is apparent as young minority men cannot walk to the store without fearing the chance that they may die. We are collectively in the bullseye on some bizzar shooting range.. and for the most part we want to act like it doesn’t exist.. Like Kim Kardashians ass is more important or Jay Z and Beyonce’s new baby girl is worthy of all our attention as we sleep. The last time this happened was today.. i was going to refer to Nazi Germany and the way people ignored the signs until it was too late. This madness must stop now before you or i or someone we know is caught in the crossfire or directly murdered by the corrupt officers who have infested the Police force. What we saw in Ferguson was the awakening.. the Spring of activity which may get worse before we can reach any sort of peace. Marching and Rioting are a sort of expression, but ultimately it seems that this is a call to war, perhaps a bloodless war on our part but nontheless a war is coming. with the non indictment of obviously guilty men, the system condones and feeds this disease. How long do you think we will stand in the middle of the street with our hands up. only to get shot?
