Smooth riding Whether in town or indeed on longer cycle rides, a smooth ride makes every trip more comfortable. That is why Gazelle makes even lighter bikes, not only in terms of weight, but also the riding experience, by using lightweight components and clever innovations. For example the Orange CX Hybrid M; manual gear shifting belongs to the past when the Nuvinci Harmony hub innovation was introduced. You can read more about the NuVinci Harmony hub innovation on page 22.

Robust quality

C lever design Aside from the fact that a bicycle should look good, the cyclist has to be seen. This is why our innovative lighting satisfies the most stringent quality and safety standards. Some models, such as the Chamonix T10 Hybrid M, are equipped with the AXA Luxx 70 LED headlamp for even greater brightness levels. Our integrated lighting has even won design awards but what is far more important is that your safety is enhanced.

Gazelle offers up to 10 years warranty on all frames and non-suspension front forks, for continued worry-free cycling. It is 5 years warranty on suspension front forks and 2 years on other components. The paint on a Gazelle is indestructible, rock-hard and scratch-resistant in every colour. For your safety many of our bikes have automatic lighting and a quality lock. All frames and components are comprehensively tested in our test lab. The durability of a Gazelle bike pays for itself in lower maintenance costs and a high trade-in value.

A CLEAR RANGE

Comfort, Trekking and Sports Trekking From now on you will find an addition after every Gazelle model name that tells you something about the configuration of the bike. Accordingly, we designate our models with an enclosed, maintenance-free chain case and internal hub gears ‘Comfort’, denoted by the letter C. Our ‘Trekking’ bikes, abbreviated to the letter T, boast a chain guard and a derailleur with many more speeds. Then we have our ‘Sports Trekking’ models, identified by the letter S. These bikes feature a derailleur as well, but they are assembled with extra-light components for sports use.

Gazelle develops and makes different bikes for every need, from trusty day-to-day transport to a sporty means of getting away from it all. Either way, our reliable quality is your guarantee of years of cycling pleasure. So you can find your way around our extensive range, the model series have recognisable names that stand for a number of characteristic features.

Type of gears and number of speeds at a glance In order to make it easier for your, we have placed the letter C, T or S after the model name with a number added. This stands for the number of speeds. Accordingly, the Orange C8 is a Comfort model with 8 speed internal hub gears. The gears and speeds indication may be followed by a plus sign (+) if it is a model with additional luxury fittings (such as additional suspension or a special hub).

THE FRAME AS THE STARTING POINT The frame is what determines the seating posture of every Gazelle as well as how it rides. Each bike has its own design and its own characteristics. Gazelle-dealers will be happy to help you find your ideal bike.

Chamonix: modern and sporty

We have been appealing to a wide audience for many years with our Orange models. This best- selling bike owes its popularity to its comfortable upright seating posture, the wide range of adjustments and the frame’s practical low standover. This makes every Gazelle Orange eminently suitable for day-to-day trips, whether you are c arrying an added weight of a child, your groceries or going for a long ride in the weekend.

Anyone who likes going on long bike rides, will find a pleasant travelling companion in the Chamonix. Its stiff aluminium frame gives it a sporty road behaviour, stability and optimum handling. Due to its low weight, all Chamonix models require little effort to ride. Adjustable components such as the handlebar and saddle enable you to match riding comfort precisely to your preferences so you will have no trouble going virtually any distance.

With electric vehicles, the term hybrid indicates that they are driven by different power sources. This also applies to Gazelle’s Hybrid models, which enable you to cycle using muscle power or aided by electric pedalling assistance. In the model designation, Hybrid M stands for bikes with a mid-mounted motor and Hybrid F means that the model in question is fitted with a front-wheel motor. You can read more about the difference between these two types of motors further on in this brochure.

Determine your range yourself! Pedal force sensor: this measures the force you are applying to the pedals and matches the electric pedal assistance to it. The harder you pedal the greater the assistance. Speed sensor: this continuously measures your road speed and indicates it on your display. This sensor also controls the electric pedal assistance cut-out on reaching the legal speed limit of 25 km/h. Shift sensor: this senses that you are shifting gears and then causes the motor assistance to cut out briefly, enabling the bike to shift smoothly to the next gear. The shift sensor enables you to keep on pedalling constantly as you shift gears.

Every mains socket a charging point! At work or in a patio, you can easily charge the easily removable battery in your Gazelle Hybrid anywhere there is a mains socket*. Some models even have a magnetic plug that makes connecting the charger and battery even easier.

Natural cycling The following sensors, which are fitted to your Gazelle Hybrid depending on the model, together determine the amount of pedal assistance and consequently riding behaviour. Rotation sensor: this measures whether the Âpedals are going round and then engages the electric pedal assistance. This provides maximum assistance for minimum effort.
