Reading Comprehension Sentence Correction Critical Reasoning

Reading Comprehension  3-4 passages per test (350-500 words long)  Each passage is followed by 3-7 questions  Topics include: natural sciences, social sciences and business  Questions look like: 5 answer choices (1 is correct, 4 are distractors)  Questions focus on: understanding the main idea and purpose of the passage, inferences and details.  What you need: quickly read through long passages with unknown vocabulary, be familiar with types of questions and with types of distractors

Critical reasoning  designed to test the reasoning skills involved in making arguments, evaluating arguments, and formulating or evaluating a plan of action  The task looks like: an argument (2-5 sentences)+a question+5 answer choices  Mainly questions ask you to: find the assumption, strengthen or weaken the argument, evaluate the conclusion, find an inference etc.  What you need to know: the argument structure, what Q. types could be asked, how to answer them, how to identify wrong answers

Sentence Correction ď Ż This section is about stylistic conventions and grammatical rules of standard written English ď Ż The task looks like: a sentence with an underlined portion + 5 answer choices, e.g.
