Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Fรถrderung der angewandten Forschung
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is made up of 56 institutes staffed by a total of roughly 13,000 employees, engaged in research in hundreds of areas of technology, the results of which are made available to industry in the form of patents, licenses, training courses and above all through contract research projects. www.ipa.fhg.de
The man behind the name Joseph von Fraunhofer The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft owes it name to Joseph von Fraunhofer (1787–1826), the successful Munich researcher, inventor and entrepreneur. Born of a family of modest means, the glass-grinding apprentice Joseph von Fraunhofer joined the institute for optics headed by privy councilor Joseph von Utzschneider, who put the young researcher in charge of glass manufacturing at the early age of 22. Joseph von Fraunhofer’s major developments include new methods of glass production and processing. The optical instruments he himself developed, such as the spectrometer and the diffraction grid, enabled Fraunhofer to conduct fundamental research in the fields of light and optics. He was the first scientist to measure the spectrum of sunlight and characterize the appearance of the dark absorption strips: the “Fraunhofer lines”. Through his independent, autodidactic work, Joseph von Fraunhofer won great acclaim from industry and government. This prompted the enrollment of the former apprentice as a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. www.ipa.fhg.de

novel architectural potentials arising out of a fundamental reappraisal of the status of ornament and its implications for architectural organization
INDICATORS Crossbreeding ideas Is the structure and concepts of decoration structure is the essence of a building’s exterior oscillation between austere style and floral style structure is not opening up space, it is becoming part of it deep ornament – structure that influences the interior affect and filling of space architecture minimalism – ‘less is more’ external surfaces give individual character – a facade can perform the role of a building’s clothing which distinguishes its originality.
SOURCE OF INSPIRATIONS GEOMETRY – STRUCTURE – PROPERTY OF MATERIAL – NATURE WORLD

INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS OF FORM (A BUILDING FORM AS AN IMPRESSIVE SIGN IN SPACE) & PART OF SITE TO DEVELOP AS A PUBLIC SPACE
THE FRAUNHOFER SALON IS GOING TO BECOME SYMBOLIC, THROUGH THE FUNCTION, GATE TO KNOWLEDGE – PLATFORM OF RESEARCH EXCHANGE FUTURE GENERATIONS.
LOCATION PLACES OF DEVELOPING TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH IN GERMANY.
THE PROJEKT: - DEVELOP SIGNIFICANT TISSUE OF THE CITY - CREATES UNIQUE CITY LANDSCAPE - USE SQUARE’S POTENTIAL AS AN OPEN SPACE IN HEART OF THE CITY - INTERVENES IN THE PLACE BY CUBATURE - APPLIES PRONOUNCED AND SPECTACTULAR SOLUTIONS - IS GOING TO BE THE MOST CHARACTERISTIC PLACE CONNECTED WITH FRAUNHOFER INSTITUTE ALSO ABROAD OF GERMANY -THE SHOWROOM WILL BECOME A PLACE TO MEET PEOPLE FROM MANY PLACES - SHOULD BRINGS ABOUT LOSS OF HUMAN’S SCALE IN CONTEMPORATY CITY, IN SPITE OF ABSTRACT FORM IT WILL BE VERY PRAGMATIC AND BASE ON ANALOGIC SOLUTIONS - SPACE FOR SOCIAL EVENTS - A PLACE OF DIFFERENT TYPE OF ACTIVITY: EXHIBITON SPACES, LIBRARY (TECHNICAL BOOKS AND MAGAZINES), MEDIA LIBRARY, AUDITORIUMS, CONFERENCE CENTER, CAFE, RESTAURANT & EQUIPMENT AREAS. - BASED ON PRINCIPLES OF EQUITABLE DEVELOPMENT.
