Just have a look at this place – it is a world class surf destination that is affordable and promises to offer us an exceptional trip. Having been to The Philippines twice SCUBA diving over the last few years, I fell in love with these islands - the locals are friendly and you can expect wonderful service at this resort. Reviews are overwhelmingly positive (see below) and this trip will represent fantastic value. I have shifted the timing of the trip to June-July. September cuts out the senior students and the 3 week holiday in July gives more students the chance for this remarkable experience. The surf isn’t huge in July, but looking at some of the photos and videos, I think this might be a good thing as Cloud 9 can get …well.. quite big. There are various other breaks around Siargao Island to explore as well. A key feature is the Cloud 9 boardwalk right at the resort beach which leads out to the break and the huge viewing platform – it is a great show here even when not surfing! ! The resort holds a maximum of 20 guests, and I feel confident we can fill a large chunk of it –maybe we can even make it exclusively ours for 9 days.

TOTAL ALL INCLUSIVE PRICE: Covers airfares; all meals; all transfers; all taxes; all accommodation charges; surfing‌EVERYTHING‌ $2795

The Surf Generally, the best months for surf in this area are August through to the beginning of November. This is when we get the most typhoon swells and the best winds. During May, June, and July, the surf is generally smaller, but when it’s on the conditions are ideal. From December to April the winds are often strong and cross shore, BUT the swell is always pretty big and some surfers prefer this time of year.

Sagana Resort Cloud 9 Siargao Island, in the Philippines, is the hidden jewel of the Pacific. ... and it's the home of the Famous CLOUD 9. Siargao Island, faces the Pacific Ocean and the Philippine Deep, the second deepest water in the world, at more than 11 km below sea level. The area is pure tropics with the plenty activities including snorkeling, island hopping, waterfalls, swimming holes and of course awesome waves and friendly locals.

SURFING SPOTS Cloud 9 Cloud 9 is situated directly in front of Sagana Resort, no boats needed. The wave is a great right hander that can be both fun and challenging. Although it is a relatively short wave, the fact that it barrels nearly the whole way guarantees satisfaction. Just check out the photos (all Cloud 9). Jacking Horse Somewhat fickle right hander that can be really fun on it's day. Dependent on swell direction, but when small is a great wave for beginners.

Tuason Left Some consider this the best left on the island. Hollow and shallow and only good over 3 feet. Beginners need not apply.

Rock Island (Tuesday Rock) Long fun forgiving right hander about a 10min boat ride from Sagana Resort. When it is on this wave is so much fun and as long as any on the island

Stimpies World class left hander, also 10min from Sagana Resort. This spot is Epic. Big or Small Stimpies is what you picture when dreaming of tropical surf.

Pacifico Another for the goofy footers. 1 hour boat ride from Sagana Resort. Long workable left that works on all tides.

Within 2 hours boat ride there are approximately 10 world class breaks, which are always uncrowded and well worth the trip. There are also a few well- guarded secret spots that can be found if you look hard enough.

Other Activities The surroundings of Siargao offers a lot of nice untouched and pristine places to visit. - Lagoon of Pansukian in front of the resort - Caub at the west part of the island - La Janoza islets facing the Pacific Ocean - Sohoton's amazing caves and cliffs You can explore them by boat and ocean kayak and experience a unique tropical adventure. The area is pure tropics with the usual activities, snorkelling, island hopping, waterfalls, swimming holes and of course waves.
