Foreword

afore we begin a word must be said, maybe a few more that hopefully will be read.

Anushka Kalro clears up the mysteries of the created word.

this book is of conversations had everyday, of the things we see and doodles that are scribbled while lying in bed.

Anushka: Oh. Yuss. Not yaas. Yaas is for farters

People are interesting, the things they do are even more. This is however not ‘wht some wud call bad grammar.’ Syntax and MisSpeLling are intenional economies of time, each develops his own,and as long and as the word is understood the language is still universal, the conversation is still real.

Medha: Yaas yaas

Medha: No yaas.. I am one Anushka: Yuss is for Ozzmo Space Dudes! Medha: Hahahha Okay yuaasss Anushka: What is this? Don’t adjust kario and meet me halfway That’s also for farters

*now tht u hv been forepoken to, do enjoy the book. 6

to all my friends in this book and otherwise and all the very interesting people i meet everyday, you are my inspiration. my classmates who i bothered no end about silly things like how to draw doors and important things like the fibonacci series, (which now is a solved mystery). Thankyou very much.

Weird is what?

Engineered by default as animals of the night, we pride ourselves on being nocturnal. Our sun rises at night. we wake, work and play during the wee hours. The parent gen however does not do nor understand. Which is weird however, is a question of opinion.

me: sup? amritha: ntn much super jobless me: yyyyyyyyyyy? come online in the nite... ill send u looootsssssssssssss of stuff to do

amritha amritha: I really want to! but this silly computer is in my dad’s room and he

SLEEPS AT NIGHT how weird is that :O 8

Amritha Mahesh is an amazing friend and can normally be trusted to be online to be around to opinion give at all times of the night. She has a labrador pup named Sasha who I havent yet met.

Boredom rhymes

Another feature of our world is onversations of boredom, normally dull dreary excuses for conversation, Varsha however is special.

varsha

Alagu: Varsha! tell me something new =) Varsha: tell u what Alagu: anything =D Varsha: lol

‘i am boring as a goose no news’ Alagu: ha ha ha ha ha hey tht rhymes Varsha: lol lol

Varsha Menon is most famously known for mistaking Benazir Bhutto for benzine chloride. She is refreshingly honest. I dont know what I or the world or Taco the pug would do without her.

Of right &

This conversation was sparked of by a documentry I saw here at Srishti - titled ‘In the name of God’ - in turn Teju talked about another she saw. Apologies for starting in the middle but it was too long to put it all in, and yes we do bother our heads with the matters and cares of the world. It actually does affect us on a very real level.

tejasvi: have u seen the video for turn the page? the documentary was a longer more factual version of that me: im youtubing it tejasvi:this doc was about sex workers but not in a being traded or sleazy way more of a, what would you do if you were desperate and someone was paying you and why is sex such a big deal when you can sell your brains and your soul for money. It does make sense though the video is a little more graphic but it def reminds me of the documentary it was all about “no shame” and its better than begging.. and as long as there is no physical violence and its a choice why must u ostracise them 12

me: hmm true, the more i live in this world the less i can find it in myself to judge anybody or anything. Really, It doesnt make sense to, not anymore. tejasvi: i know, i dont understand ppl who choose to judge based on their standards or themselves you may like or dislike something but its not that you know any better me: exactly...ther never is a standard.. its wht a body chooses it to be, b*****

Tejasvi Tejasvi Ravi is one of those brainiacs who I befriended while trying to shake things up in college. We talk a lot about changing the world, maybe we shall make a difference some day soon.

convenient for prejudice i think tht is and yep nobody knows any better but doesnt stop them from pretending do it? tejasvi: thts also a very depressing thing if everyone is going around being self righteous then what are we going to do its ok if ppl are idiots, its not ok if idiots think they are all knowing it becomes a very futile fight. me: LOL tht is funny...all we can do is read the owl and the pussycat and feel gleeful and write a petition against idiots and publish it, and they wont kno their being referred to cos ofcourse tht cud never be them :) tejasvi: hahahaha, we should totally do that.

the owl and the pussycat is a delightful poem by Edward Lear, do read it if you find the time. and from the conversation, u must ask urself are u tht said idiot? 13

A sign I wish I had seen on the gates

of all my schools and colleges, somehow popping a mentos in your mouth and walking in backwards doesn’t cut it with the profs.

wiggly red lines when i was counting down the days to one thing or another, i set my ever changing status message to calendar days, and so began this conversation @ 1.55 a.m on a sunday morn..

raghu: calender days Alagu: did i spell it wrong? raghu: nope i did :) Alagu: im not too sleepy yet then raghu: both are right btw Alagu: ahh the american vs brit way of spelling? raghu: both are right even in american so my mac says Alagu: hows tht possible its a common noun rite? ahh comp lang raghu: i’m an engineer :) i dont give a s*** till i see a red underline, it does pose a problem that I am a travel editor now

Raghu Raghu Surikuchi is a friend of a friend, one I havent actually met with too often. He says his nickname was random raghu, most times he lives up to it, however theres always interesting conversation to be had.

Alagu: ha ha...the red underline is one of those wiggly lines im so sure people see evrywhere before they go mental but travellers arent too bothered abt spelling raghu: thats where i am right now. travelers arent, but their editors are and since im my own editor it poses a problem don’t it?

When I wrote this book I wanted to be clever, that’s about when Ogden Nash bumped into me, he very wisely said, and what he told me ill never forget,

“ Heres a good rule of thumb, Too clever is dumb” So I cast aside a nagging temptation to appear intellectually superior when ofcourse im not, and decide to put my faith in the ridiculous.

I trust it will not let you down.
