We are the medical holding AKESO, one of the leading healthcare providers in the Czech Republic. The Hořovice hospital is more than an ordinary regional hospital. It offers a wide range of outpatient clinics and counselling rooms connected to individual inpatient wards.
Specialized health services are provided beyond the basic medical disciplines through the departments of orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, surgery, urology, gynecology and obstetrics, neonatology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, and internal medicine.

AKESO POLYCLINIC offers a wide range of diagnostic and outpatient care for children, adolescents and adults in Prague’s Nové Butovice. The polyclinic is equipped with state-of-the-art medical and laboratory technology. We have MRI, X-ray and ultrasound. These are state-of-the-art devices that allow doctors to quickly and accurately make a diagnosis without unpleasant patient burden and unnecessary time delays.
We offer our services to the whole family, in a very pleasant environment and without unnecessary paperwork. We took care to create a friendly environment and a trustworthy atmosphere. Children can have fun in two children’s corners or in the garden atrium.

MULTISCAN
The Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre is part of the Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region (COC PR). The COC PR consists of the company Multiscan, which operates clinical oncology and radiotherapy outpatient clinics, and Pardubice Hospital, which is responsible for the inpatient part. It provides comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive and educational activities in the field of oncology.
Multiscan also operates clinical oncology clinics in Chrudim, Svitavy and Ústí nad Orlicí. Since January 2019, the Oncology Department of the Hořovice Hospital has been operating as another detached workplace. In addition to the clinical and radiation oncology outpatient clinics, the centre also has a radiodiagnostics department located at the Vektor Polyclinic in Pardubice.

SENIMED
SENIMED brings together the pharmacies of the hospitals in Hořovice and Beroun. It also includes the pharmacies „U Černého orla“ and „U Červeného potoka“ in Hořovice, the pharmacy in Žebrák and in Hostomice pod Brdy.
The pharmacy of Hořovice Hospital supplies medicines to other medical facilities of AKESO Holding. Its warehouse contains more than 3,000 medicinal products and food supplements and has a wide range of orthopaedic and rehabilitation aids intended not only for medical facilities but also for end users. In addition, skilled clinical pharmacists are able to tailor medicines to individual clients and departments exactly as prescribed.
Active cooperation with the treating physicians in the treatment of the patient is a matter of course. Last but not least, SENIMED also ensures the conduct of clinical trials. The company’s pharmacy operations meet the demanding administrative, storage and operational requirements for modern pharmacies.
In 2022, the pharmaceutical division of SENIMED Pharma joined the AKESO holding group, building on the long-standing experience of APOTEX and Aurovitas. SENIMED Pharma focuses on the sale of premium health supplements. It focuses mainly on Czech products, such as pure crystalline collagen from the Colafit range and immunity supplements from the Betaglucan range. The wide range of products is complemented by the overthe-counter drugs Hedelix and Bromhexine. The portfolio then includes Ibuprofen Aneos, which replaced the well-known Apo-Ibuprofen for many years, then Curenzym Anixi, Cranberry Anixi, oral probiotic BAC-ENTOS or CBD products.

We provide a broad portfolio of cutting-edge products and services in the fields of orthopedics, spinal surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, gynecology and urology, surgery, electrosurgery, diabetes, optics, and dental hygiene. We provide complete equipment for operating theatres.
We also provide our services to start-up companies in their market launches and use the holding’s medical facilities for product testing and training of future users when introducing new products.
We have sophisticated logistics that enable us to supply hospitals just-in-time. At the same time, we provide hospitals with consignment warehouses.

MULTISCAN PHARMA
The pharmacy specialised in medicines for oncology patients was established in 2008 as an offshoot of the Multiscan Oncology Centre in Pardubice.
Currently, it supplies special drugs for oncology patients to all AKESO holding facilities that treat oncology patients, to all workplaces of the Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region (COC PR) and also to the inpatient department of clinical and radiation oncology of the Pardubice Hospital.
The specific layout and equipment of the two aseptic areas of the pharmacy complying with the current legal standards enables the preparation and dispensing of sterile medicinal products. Both cytostatics and targeted (biological) drugs are prepared here directly for patients according to the individual requirements of the attending physician at the time of their need.
Thanks to pipeline mail, the pharmacy is able to deliver the medicine to the patient within the Pardubice Hospital within half an hour of the prescription by the doctor.

Altoa Medical Tourism Division specializes in comprehensive care for international clients, which includes not only high quality medical services, but also the provision of transport, accommodation, interpreting, translation and organisation of leisure activities, including accompaniment to all appointments. DAY PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC SANATORIUM ONDŘEJOV
The Ondřejov Day Psychotherapeutic Sanatorium, which specializes in the care of patients with psychotic disorders as well as patients with addiction to alcohol, gambling machines and drugs, will be part of the AKESO medical holding from the second half of 2022 and will complement the comprehensive care at the Mental Rehabilitation Centre. Here you will find psychiatric outpatient clinics, a day hospital, permanent and thematic psychotherapy programs, space for individual psychotherapy and other supportive activities. The mainstay of comprehensive treatment of psychotic illnesses is psychiatric
outpatient care. A great advantage is provided by the interconnectedness of the sanatorium’s services and the possibility of close cooperation between individual specialists. It also provides face-toface and community-based services such as crisis intervention, crisis supportive care, mediation of comprehensive treatment for new patients, mediation of comprehensive treatment for uncooperative patients, psychosocial rehabilitation by a psychiatric nurse, social rehabilitation, professional social counselling, activation services, telephone crisis intervention and telephone patient support.
MINDWELL
Mindwell is a digital therapy that offers systematic care for the most common mental disorders and prevention of a wide range of mental health problems. She currently offers therapeutic programs aimed at addressing depression, anxiety and burnout syndrome. Therapeutic programs make mental health care available to patients immediately, from the comfort and privacy of their own homes.
Mindwell was created by the biggest experts in cognitive behavioural therapy in the Czech Republic, psychiatrists and psychotherapists, and is a provider
of health services in the fields of psychiatry and clinical psychology.
MW DT is a Class I medical device intended for patients over the age of 18 years for whom it serves as a prevention of the development of serious psychiatric illness and therefore helps in the management of mild to moderate psychiatric problems.

CONSTRUCTION TEAM
The foundations of the company were laid in 2008 during the privatisation of the Hořovice Hospital and Beroun Hospital. Both facilities were in need of thorough renovation to meet the highest standards of 21st century healthcare. In 2017, CONSTRUCTION TEAM began to operate as a development, engineering and construction company that implements construction projects exclusively for AKESO holding. An in-house contractor reduces the cost of construction by up to 30% compared to hired external companies and can respond more flexibly to the client’s requirements.
In addition to the above-mentioned reconstructions and modernizations, CONSTRUCTION TEAM has completed over a dozen projects ranging from hospital reconstruction to the construction of apartments for employees to billion-dollar projects for the construction of the Mental Rehabilitation Centre in Beroun or the Hospital of the New Generation in Hořovice.
DATA CENTRE
Healthcare holding AKESO continues to invest in the future of patients and data cybersecurity. Therefore, a brand new data centre has been built on the premises of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital, which consolidates the IT needs of the entire holding into a centralised private cloud. This state-of-the-art facility with the latest technology allows us to provide the best service to patients while meeting the most stringent requirements for protecting sensitive data.
The data centre is a three-storey reinforced concrete monolith with durable structural elements designed to withstand extreme events such as earthquakes, floods, fire, plane crashes or external human intervention. It houses not only the necessary technologies and the data chambers themselves, but also offices and premises as a background for the control and monitoring workplace of the centre’s operation.

As part of our collaboration on significant scientific projects, AKESO Holding established a Scientific Board, chaired by Prof. MUDr. Karel Pacák, DrSc., a renowned expert in endocrinology. His research team has introduced new biochemical and imaging methods that represent a breakthrough in the diagnosis and localization of rare neuroendocrine tumors, particularly pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma. He has become a world-renowned expert in this disease in both children and adults. In this research area, he is also the world’s most cited author. To date, he has published over 400 papers in scientific journals and over a hundred chapters in medical monographs. Together, we are seeking new challenges in both research and clinical practice, aiming to provide the best possible care for our patients.

REHABILITATION CENTRE AT EUROPEAN LEVEL
The Rehabilitation Centre of the Beroun Hospital is a very modern, well-equipped facility, one of the best of its kind, not only in the Czech Republic. The centre offers a wide range of rehabilitation programmes. It provides early medical rehabilitation to both outpatients and inpatients. They have single to triple rooms, equipped with modern reclining beds, private bathroom, TV and Wi-Fi connection. Patients are cared for by a team of qualified health
care professionals: rehabilitation doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical speech therapists, clinical psychologists, prosthetists, nurses and junior medical staff. The aim of complex medical rehabilitation is to eliminate or maximally influence the patient’s disability in all areas, to improve his/ her quality of life as much as possible and to contribute to his/her full self-sufficiency and integration into society.
MATERNITY HOSPITAL U SLUNEČNÍ BRÁNY
Maternity Hospital U Sluneční brány Hořovice is one of the most popular and largest maternity hospitals in the Central Bohemia Region. The modern facilities of the maternity hospital offer expectant mothers four luxurious, completely separate delivery rooms equipped with the latest technology. All delivery rooms have a positioning bed and a bed for newborn treatment, a private bathroom with toilet, TV, Wi-Fi connection and facilities for the father.
The births are conducted in an intimate atmosphere with the possibility of using, for example, a birthing tub, rehabilitation balloons, birthing stools, Combitrac suspension system, birthing couch, aromatherapy or scarfing. The maternity ward includes an operating theatre for caesarean section. If it is necessary to deliver by caesarean section, the parents are allowed to be accompanied by the father of the child.
Of course, the presence of the father or another close person is a matter of course for us not only at the birth, but also in the antenatal ward. If the mother wishes to have not only the father of the child, but also the older sibling with her from the time she leaves the delivery room until she is discharged home, the new superior family rooms will make this possible.
The maternity hospital has the status of a Perinatology Intermediate Care Centre with the possibility to provide care to newborns from the 30th week of pregnancy. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is fully open to parents who are involved early in the care of even the smallest or sickest babies.
A significant advantage of our maternity hospital is that mothers-to-be do not have to register for the birth in advance.
THE MOST MODERN MAGNETIC RESONANCE
The AKESO POLYCLINIC in Prague’s Nové Butovice has a state-of-the-art Siemens Magnetom Vida magnetic resonance with a magnetic field strength of 3 tesla. The device can examine patients regardless of their physical constitution, in very high resolution and in a short time.
The device has sensors embedded in the pad that allow detection of patient movement and suppression of movements from free breathing.
This provides doctors with unrivalled image documentation to establish the correct diagnosis.
For patients who are afraid of being in a closed space, we offer special glasses with an audiovisual program during the examination. This unique technology also makes the examination of young children much easier and more comfortable.
MOST WANTED ARTHROSCOPIC CENTRE
IN BEROUN AND ORTHOPAEDIC DEPARTMENT IN HOŘOVICE
The arthroscopy centre at the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital was opened in the autumn of 2008 and quickly built a reputation as the best arthroscopy centre in the Czech Republic. Thanks to our team of experienced doctors, four modern operating rooms, highquality equipment and perfect facilities for patients and medical staff, we have become one of the most sought-after workplaces. In 2024, we celebrated 60,000 patients operated on at our centre and we perform approximately 6,000 operations a year. This number will
increase even more once the construction of additional operating theatres is completed.
The centre is also connected to a new day care unit and technical facilities, headed by a newly built air conditioning system. All rooms are modern and have private bathroom, TV and internet access. Patients are discharged from the day care unit within 24 hours to home treatment or transferred for rehabilitation.
The Orthopaedic Department of Hořovice Hospital performs over 1,500 large joint arthroplasties per year.
PRENATAL DIAGNOSTICS CENTRE
At the Centre for Prenatal Diagnostics, we offer expectant mothers the possibility of screening examinations that can detect congenital developmental defects early and with high detection rates.
We have the most modern equipment and all ultrasound examinations at our clinic are performed by specially trained doctors with international FMF Certificate of Competence.
The examination is always carried out according to the recommended procedures of our and foreign professional societies. If any of the abnormalities are found, a specialised genetic consultation is usually followed by an assessment of the problem and a recommendation for further action.
The aim of the Centre is to provide expectant mothers with a maximum sense of security and to enable them to monitor the proper development of their baby from the very beginning.

MODERN LABORATORIES
Laboratories are an integral part of our healthcare facilities. They provide basic and specialized tests of biological material in the fields of clinical biochemistry, clinical hematology and immunohematology and blood bank for all inpatient and outpatient departments of the Hořovice Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and the surrounding region.
An integral part of the laboratories at the Hořovice Hospital is also the pathology department, which is located in new above-standard premises. It has qualified staff and modern instrumentation meeting the highest standards. The department has successfully met the requirements of the National Authorisation Centre for clinical laboratories (NACCL), at the highest possible level (Audit II and Audit R3 NACCL).
The Department of Clinical Biochemistry and Haematology of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun, which is also involved in the programme of quality improvement in healthcare guaranteed by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and holds the SEKK certificate, is also a high-quality department.

In 2014, Hořovice Hospital became the first healthcare facility in the Czech Republic to open a specialized ward for chronically ill pediatric patients. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides multidisciplinary chronic intensive and resuscitation care to children of all ages who are severely or terminally ill.
In addition to the perfect medical equipment, the department has a large number of compensatory aids to set the maximum comfort of the child at the bedside. High-quality, highly

specialised nursing care is provided here in line with current scientific knowledge. The cost of building the new pavilion exceeded CZK 76 million.
At Hořovice Hospital, we care for adult and paediatric palliative parents, both on an outpatient basis and during hospitalization. Our palliative care is provided by a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologists, and chaplains.
THE LARGEST TRANSFUSION
STATION IN THE CENTRAL BOHEMIAN REGION
With approximately 12 000 blood donations per year, the blood transfusion station is one of the largest blood donation sites in the Central Bohemia Region. It regularly supplies a number of Prague hospitals with the most precious liquid.

CUTTING-EDGE ONCOLOGICAL
DIAGNOSTICS AND THERAPY
The Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre has been providing care in the field of clinical oncology, radiotherapy and radiodiagnostics for 20 years, not only to patients from the Pardubice Region. Together with the Pardubice Hospital, which provides the inpatient part of oncology, Multiscan forms the Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region.
Since its inception, hundreds of millions of crowns have been invested in the development and operation of the Multiscan Centre. The
department now has two state-of-the-art linear accelerators for radiotherapy, two magnetic resonance machines, computed tomography, diagnostic and therapeutic X-ray and other modern equipment. The project of transporting patients from the detached workplaces in Ústí nad Orlicí, Svitavy and Hořovice for radiotherapy to Pardubice in our own vehicles is also working very well.
Each year, Multiscan provides care to more than a thousand new radiation patients.
BARIATRICS: SURGICAL TREATMENT OF OBESITY AND RELATED DISEASES
Obesity is a serious chronic disease that must be treated to prevent further damage to health. The Hořovice Hospital has achieved excellent results in its treatment, and patients can also visit the bariatric outpatient clinic at the AKESO POLYCLINIC in Prague.
Treatment can be conservative or surgical (through an operation). It has been proven that a properly selected surgical procedure significantly helps to reduce weight, and leads to a significant improvement or even cure of associated diseases. These diseases are part of the so-called metabolic syndrome. The most significant of these diseases are, for example, type 2 diabetes, high
blood pressure, fatty liver, elevated blood fats, sleep apnea, gout, which is caused by high uric acid, and hormonal changes in women.
With surgical treatment, we focus precisely on the metabolic part. So-called metabolic-bariatric surgery is particularly effective in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Most patients dependent on insulin treatment are discharged with only medication. A well-performed surgical procedure and its correct selection for a particular patient is a prerequisite for success, but is not a guarantee. Patient cooperation is the most important and indispensable condition.

MENTAL REHABILITATION CENTRE
AKESO Healthcare Holding opened its flagship mental health care facility in June 2023 on the premises of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital. The Mental Rehabilitation Centre has become a unique workplace that has the ambition to change the current standards of psychiatric care and to be a model not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe.
The five-storey building with an area of 25,000 m2 cost CZK 1.2 billion and is interwoven with the most modern technologies and equipment to functionally and functionally meet the conditions for modern medicine at the European level. A wide range of patients can find help here and the medical care is designed to be comprehensive.
The construction of the Centre took five years and involved a team of Czech and foreign architects and designers who designed an exceptional space with many special features.

NEOCLINICS STODŮLKY
AKESO holding has the ambition to build a modern, friendly and technologically and digitally advanced outpatient medical facility of nearly 12 000 m2 in the densely populated area of Prague’s Stodůlky. It will be intended primarily for residents of the western part of Prague and adjacent districts of the Central Bohemian Region and will offer a wide range of preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic care in all fields of paediatric and adult medicine.
An important and unprecedented element of the newly established workplace will be the patient portal, which will allow access to shared information not only for doctors but also for patients themselves.
