Region II Review March 2015 Volume 2 - Issue 3

Director’s Report Salutations to all throughout Region II! Just think – in just a few short days, we will have the chance to walk along the San Antonio Riverwalk, spend time with friends we have not seen in quite some time, experience some outstanding local cuisine as the 2015 ACUI annual conference is nearly here. Rumor has it that there are some educational sessions at this, as well. All jokes aside, this conference is shaping up to be one of the more memorable ones in recent times, as we wish Marsha Herman-Betzen well in her pending retirement. Lots of surprises are in store for her and for you in San Antonio. If you have not already done so, take the time to look at the conference website and get up to date with what is happening. Region II boasts nearly 16% of the 1,091 currently registered conference attendees. Wherever you go, you are bound to see a friendly regional face! I would be doing a disservice if I did not plug the Battle of the Regions competitions. We are still short participants. Please help the region by nominating someone, or even yourself to participate in the competitions. More information can be found on the conference website, or you can email me at terryweber@ missouristate.edu. The final signup will occur at the Regional Business Meeting, but I would prefer to have this wrapped up prior to the conference starting. One last item of note, I would like to thank Victoria Culver for an outstanding regional program she conducted on March 6. Three institutions - University of Missouri, University of Arkansas, and Missouri State University - participated in the Student Summit and I am hoping it become an annual program. Please read her update to find out more on what was accomplished with the program. Safe travels to San Antonio! Terry Weber Region II Director

Student Leader Summit Drive-In Region II hosted a Student Leadership Summit on March 6. The face-to-face educational program focused on allowing undergraduate students from around the region gather together to network and share ideas. University of Missouri, University of Arkansas, nd Missouri State University each sent a delegation of students as well as a few staff members. Participants spent the day in roundtable discussions, customer service sessions and facility tours. Be on the lookout for information about the next program - a technology-themed drive-in this summer.
