Conference Overview ABOUT THE CONFERENCE Since 1992, we have hosted the National House Directors Conference. The conference helps fraternity/sorority housing professionals improve their skills and efficiency while becoming more aware of the value and importance of their roles. Because house directors provide a safe, constant, and stable home for students within an environment that supports both academic and experiential learning, parents, alumni, house corporations, and university administrators are reassured and student retention is increased. In 2011, the conference was expanded to include programming and educational content for those who work with house corporations in addition to house directors. This expansion led to the creation of the The House Corporation Track, a one-day intensive learning opportunity for house corporation professionals and volunteers. The House Corporation Track is designed to educate and develop House Corporation board members and professionals on today’s issues in the fraternal housing industry. This track occurs all day Saturday, June 20, and a one-day registration option is available. The Fraternal Housing Conference is the premier opportunity for fraternity and sorority House Directors and House Corporation staff and volunteers to gain valuable skills and keep up with the issues that impact them in today’s ever changing campus environment. CONFERENCE GOALS At the conference, housing professionals of all types will learn to create appropriate and effective relationships with their many constituencies (students, parents, alumni, faculty, vendors, and house employees). The goal of the conference is to provide housing professionals with unique and comprehensive skills and knowledge that encourage teamwork, leadership, fraternal values, and effective use of resources while supporting the shared mission of fraternities/sororities and the university. Conference participants will develop skills in problem-solving, communication, resource allocation, and facility management and will leave the conference with a better understanding of issues and trends affecting higher education.

On the National Register of Historic Places and one of Milwaukee's most treasured landmarks. Lakefront Brewery Tour | Lunch at Lakefront Brewery 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Lakefront Brewery is a leader in brewing the best beers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Started in 1987, Lakefront Brewery has been brewing for more than 27 years. Ranking as the 4th best brewery tour in America by Trip Advisor, we are invited to come and see for ourselves. The tour includes a souvenir pint glass and four 6ox pour of beer. For non-beer drinkers, Lakefront's Golden Maple Root Beer is available.

CONFERENCE TOURS Post-Conference Excursion Chicago, Sunday, June 21- Wednesday, June 24 Sunday, June 21 (on way to Chicago) | Lake Geneva Bay, Lady Boat Tour The one hour Geneva Bay Tour takes in the eastern end of Geneva Lake, departing from the historic Riviera Docks in downtown Lake Geneva. The boat will cruise along the north shore of the lake where the live tour guide will point out the large estates and mansions that line the shores. Many of the homes were built in the late 1800's and early 1900's by wealthy Chicagoans that chose the Lake Geneva area as a summer retreat. Names like Swift, Wrigley and Maytag are part of the rich history of the area. The boat tour will continue along the south shore and back to the Riviera. Monday, June 22 | Architecture Boat Tour Only the Chicago Architecture Foundation and Chicago's First Lady Cruises can showcase Chicago's world renowned city architecture with style, class and comfort. Experience 90 Minutes of Amazing as you learn about the architecture and design of over 50 buildings as described by CAF-Certified Volunteer Docents/Guides. Monday - Tuesday | Explore Chicago Trolley Tours Double Decker Buses and Trolleys take you all over Chicago to see the many sites and sounds of the city. Get off and on at any stop and visit the Chicago sites that interest you. Pass includes the following tours: Signature Tour, City Lights Night Tour, West Neighborhoods Tour, North Neighborhood Tour and South Neighborhood Tour. Tuesday, June 23 | Night at the Theater: One Your Feet! ON YOUR FEET! is the story of two people who – through an unwavering dedication to one another and their pursuit of American dream – showcased their talent, their music and their heritage to the world in a remarkable rise to global superstardom. Set to Gloria’s chart-topping smash hits such as “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “1-2-3,” “Mi Tierra,” and “Conga,” in addition to new music penned by the Estefans, the show will bring a new sound to Broadway and get audiences on their feet. Early Bird Registration ends on Friday, May 1st. Regular registration will close on Monday, June 1st. Late and online registration closes Monday, June 15th. During the conference, your guest will join you for all the scheduled meals (opening dinner, two lunches, and the closing breakfast) and the city tour. AFLV cannot be responsible for ensuring that all of our attendees get the conference hotel or that they receive the conference rate. Travel Participants and guests are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. Travel into the General Mitchell International Airport. Attendees should arrive prior to sessions beginning at 4:00 p.m. To get to the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee from the airport, taxi stands are available outside of baggage claim. Alternatively, shared-ride shuttles are available at a less expensive cost and can be found near the taxi stand. The conference will end on Sunday, June 21 at 11:30 a.m. Departing flights should be booked after 2:30 p.m. that Sunday for those not attending the Post-Conference trip to the Chicago. If you are attending the conference and post conference trip, you will fly into Milwaukee, WI and fly out of Chicago, IL. Transportation will be provided from Milwaukee to Chicago for those attending the post conference trip. Post-conference trip attendees should book departing flights on Wednesday, June 24.
