The Monkey Bar has officially moved into the Annerley Junior Clubhouse and owners Aaron, Jane and Dani are proud as punch to be serving awesome coffee and incredible food to the local community each and every week. In particular, Aaron Jane and Dani are thrilled to be looking after the Annerley crowd after being involved with the club for many years. They are currently upholding the long tradition of providing free icy poles to Junior players following their Saturday matches, as well as assisting with the catering following home games for Senior Men and Women's teams. Swing by this weekend while you watch the Annerley juniors in action and enjoy a delicious coffee under the shady poinsettia tree.

MEN'S Men's Capital League 1
Annerley F.C. VS Bayside United 8:30PM Coach: Russel Mapri Coach's Corner! with Russel Mapri So far this year we have had two very good results and one disappointing result. Which leaves us 1 win 1 draw and 1 loss and mid table. My systems and my philosophies have been put in place and so far we are sitting on a pass mark in my books. This week we are up against ladder leaders Bayside. We all know how important this game is to some of us. With the head coach of Bayside being Roy Wiseman, my predecessor and Bayside fielding many ex Annerley FC players. However, to me, Bayside are just another team and just another opposition that we need to overcome. The program, systems and philosophies stay the same and although we have some major injuries at the moment, the depth we have created alongside of the quality of our core will, at the end of the day, get us over the line.

Men's Capital 1 notched up their first win of the season 2-1 away to Grange Thistle. The Cap 1 reserves were unlucky to lose 3-2. City 1 went down with a 1-0 loss to the traditionally strong Lions FC. City 2 beat Taringa 3 -1 & the City 3's had a tough night at Westside FC, losing 7-1. City 4's rounded out the weekend with a strong 2-1 win against Toowong FC.

VS Eastern Suburbs 4:00PM Coach: Michael Fahey Assistant: Sean Jenkins Coach's Corner! with Michael Fahey Everyone loves a local derby, and this week sees the City 1 team square off against our local rivals Easts. We are coming off a good start to the season with a 1-1 draw with Ipswich, and a 2-0 away win over Pine Hills, and this week will be another tough match. It's good to have a couple of players back in the team that stepped up to play BWPL last week, and we have a little bit of extra motivation hoping to wipe out the defeat our top team suffered last round to our opposition's counterparts.
Previous Women's Results... Last week the BWPL team lost a tough match again Eastern Suburbs 4-0 at Elder Oval. At Pine Hills, our Women's City 1 won 2-0 and City 4 & 5 both won their games at home 5-1 & 3-0 respectively.

Full name: Natalie Apolony Nickname(s): Nat, Nat Ap Occupation: Studying to be a PE teacher & coaching pre-school and primary children's football. Current Annerley team: City League 1 Most embarrassing footballing moment: When the ball was out for a throw in and I didn't realise how close to the line I was. I just ran to get the ball like someone was chasing me for it and continued to keep kicking it along looking to score. All my teammates and the other team were yelling at me that it was a throw in. Favourite footballing memory: Scoring the equalizing goal in extra time of a grand final from a free kick outside the box. We ended up winning the shootout. Favourite movie: Mean Girls - but I’ve seen it WAY too many times. Which famous footballer would you trade places with for a day? David Beckham. So I could hang out with a Spice Girl. They were my all-time favourites when I was little.

Leighton Baines plays in 3, but also it's a smaller jersey which accentuates my impressive physique. Greatest footballing achievement: Winning promotion in 2013 just tops the grand final win of 2012 for me. Which famous footballer would you trade places with for a day? He is dead, so I'd need a time machine, but surely George Best. Best ever goal celebration? I basically ran around in disbelief. Pre-game rituals/superstitions? None of that gypsy rubbish for me. Favourite quote? Sir Robert Monteverde "It is true that the Greeks invented sex, but it was the Italians who introduced them to Women."
