On December 6, Adrian College presented its most recent graduates. In an intimate ceremony with family and friends, 62 graduates walked in the traditional winter ceremony to receive their diplomas. This year’s commencement also recognized three graduates accepting their Master of Arts in Criminal Justice. These were the first master’s degrees awarded since 1984. WWW

DEAN OF GRADUATE STUDIES

ANNOUNCED

The Office of Academic Affairs has announced Dr. Paul Rupert as the Dean of Graduate Studies. Dr. Rupert is assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry and will lead the new office to assist students interested in the master’s programs offered at the College. He will assume his duties, as well as continue teaching, in January 2014.

Excellence

IN TEACHING Earlier this fall, the Adrian College community congratulated two of its faculty at fall convocation with their annual teaching awards. Dr. Melissa Stewart, religion/philosophy, received the Exemplary Teaching Award sponsored by the Board of Higher Education of the United Methodist Church; and Dr. Kevin Darr, exercise science/ physical education, received the Ross Newsom Teaching Excellence Award provided for by the sons of the late Ross Newsom, a 1936 graduate of Adrian College.
