What is nahnoom? In 2011, the Nahnoom piano quartet was founded by its original members, Carrie Chen, Elizabeth Lee, Minji Kim, and Albert Lee. When forming this quartet, the members did so with the objective of supporting causes and helping those in need through contributions collected from benefit concerts. In 2011, this quartet held its first benefit concert. The proceeds accumulated from this performance were donated to servicing the aid of those with visual impairment through the American Red Cross. As of 2017, all four of the quartet’s original members have set off on their individual paths. Carrie Chen graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a piano performance major and Elizabeth Lee is studying chemical biology at UC Berkeley as a senior. Of the quartet’s younger members, Minji Kim is a junior at Juilliard to further her studies with viola performance and Albert Lee is a junior at Dartmouth to study biology.

zation filled with even more young musicians with growing talent. Ultimately, we hope to expand our endeavors in order to support other causes and reach out to a more diverse community through the joy of music.

So where does nahnoom step in? Having been exposed to this issue in Cambodia, Nahnoom has taken upon itself to use our love for music to support well infrastructure in the country. With the universal passion for music, Nahnoom members hope to raise as much money as we can for this cause. We realize that Cambodia's water crisis affects an immense amount of people and is one that exists thousands of miles away. However, we also realize that this crisis is solvable. With our common passion for music along with the help of your donations, we hope to contribute to the Cambodia Well-Project and better the lives of Cambodian citizens, all the way across the world. Concerts The American Red Cross of the Bay Area Chapter serves more than 4.5 million people in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Solano counties. The American Red Cross of the Bay Area Chapter provides relief to those affected by disasters and empowers individuals in our community to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. By helping people in the Bay Area learn how to take care of their families and neighbors, we strengthen our community and make it more resilient to disasters large and small. The Red Cross does this by fostering our volunteer network, which is over 3,700 people strong in the Bay Area, and by forming partnerships with hundreds of government agencies, community organizations and businesses. It’s these very individuals who are the face of the Red Cross in our community – providing training in first aid, CPR and disaster preparedness every day and offering support and comfort to families who have lost their homes to disaster every night. Help people affected by disasters like wildfires in California, Washington and Oregon and countless other crises at home and around the world by making a gift to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.
