17th – 20th: L.E.A.F.: Lake Eden Arts Festival at Camp Rockmont. Tickets online in advance, (828) 686-8742, www.theleaf.org. 25th – 26th: haunted history tour led by the Swannanoa Valley Museum through the Dougherty Height Historic District of downtown Black Mountain. On these one-and-a-half hour walking tours, groups of 10 will be led by costumed guides through a graveyard where they will hear about the devastating food in 1916, to Inn Around the Corner to discover their resident gentleman ghost, and into several other hundred-year old homes with their own long histories and friendly ghosts.

Tours will meet at the Swannanoa Valley Museum at 223 West State Street in Black Mountain and run every 30 minutes beginning at 5 p.m. The last tour will leave the Museum at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 for members of the Museum and $35 for non-members.
