Introduction

Are you interested in supporting your team’s wellbeing and upskilling initiatives, as well as your own? With the support of Welsh Government funding, we are offering a range of FULLY-FUNDED part-time courses and qualifications. Designed to enhance your team’s skills while nurturing their wellbeing, these programmes empower employees to flourish in their careers. Whether your goal is to advance within your current role, explore new career paths, or regain work-life balance, our tailored programmes are here to support holistic growth within your workplace.

We offer a variety of wellbeing courses that can be tailored to meet your needs and those of your employees. They can be undertaken either online or in-person. Our qualifications offer a comprehensive approach to wellbeing and personal development, equipping you with valuable skills that can positively impact both your professional and personal life.

To be eligible you need to be: Over 16+, living in Wales and not in full time education. Courses can be customised to meet the specific needs of individuals and employers.

Here is a selection of what we have available.

Confidence Building

Confidence Building/Motivational Course

DURATION: 2 DAYS

Confidence is a key factor in whether people succeed in life or not, it is a pivotal building block in a person’s ability to achieve. A lack of confidence can mask a person’s true ability therefore, building confidence is key to helping people excel, helping them take on challenges, grab opportunities and succeed.

Aimed at helping participants to progress in their professional and personal lives, this course challenges learners’ perceptions, inspires and encourages students in an innovative and dynamic way. Best suited to those who may have low self-esteem and confidence, and who may be returning to the workplace or are looking to progress with further training, it will help students realise their potential and achieve their ambitions.

This course should be considered as a perfect first step into thinking about starting a new job or career, with a view to setting employment-based and life goals.

Resilience Skills

Confidence Building, Resilience and Stress Management

DURATION: 2 DAYS

This is a 2-day course aimed at supporting people with developing their resilience, as well as recognising their own strengths and potential development areas. The course also focuses on stress and stress management. Participants will be able to define what stress is and identify symptoms of stress, identify their own stressors, and develop ways to support themselves and others.

This is an interactive course, where learners will be encouraged to participate in activities and pair/group work, with the primary assessment method being completion of a workbook.

Resilience Skills

DURATION: 2 DAYS

This dynamic 2-day course gives participants the knowledge to understand what resilience is and how it can impact one’s life. It challenges participants to reflect on their own resilience skills and provides the tools to build and improve them, both in their personal life and in the workplace.

It is suitable for anyone seeking to improve upon their ability to deal with challenging personal or professional situations and who may be recovering from hardship and adversity too. Topics covered include:

• Resilience

• Achieving positivity

• Emotional care

• Change and the growth mind-set

• Conflict management

• Positive connections

Mental Health

Level 2 Award in Introduction to Mental Health Awareness

DURATION: 2 DAYS

This programme helps learners develop their knowledge and understanding in relation to mental health and wellbeing. This qualification can be taken by learners preparing to enter employment or by those already in employment wishing to develop their knowledge of mental health awareness. It may be taken alongside or as a follow on for learners completing their Level 2 Award in Introduction to First Aid for Mental Health.

Topics covered include:

• Understanding mental health and wellbeing

• Understanding how mental ill health affects the experience of individuals

• Understanding the mental health continuum

• Understanding ways to self-manage one’s own wellbeing

Level 3 Award in Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace for Managers*

DURATION: 2 DAYS

This course provides learners with the knowledge they need to understand mental health in the workplace, how mental ill health may affect employees, and how managers can support employees experiencing poor mental health. This is suitable for those already in employment or preparing to enter employment.

Topics covered include:

• The principles of mental health

• Recognising mental ill health in self and others

• Supporting mental wellbeing in the workplace

• Understanding how to engage in mental health conversations in the workplace

• How to support employees in relation to their mental health

• Wellbeing management

Adult Mental Health

First Aid

DURATION: 2 DAYS

The Adult Mental Health First Aid course is based on international MHFA Guidelines. Curriculum content is evidence-based, with the input of mental health professionals, researchers, and consumer advocates. Participants will gain improved knowledge of mental illnesses and interventions, knowledge of appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in helping individuals experiencing a mental health problem.

The course is available at level 1 which is aimed at those who have no previous experience with Mental Health First Aid and level 2, which offers more in-depth knowledge.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

DURATION: 2 DAYS

Mental illnesses often start in adolescence or early adulthood, and it is important to detect problems early to ensure the young person is properly treated and supported. The course is suitable for anyone pursuing a career in teaching and learning, or those already in roles such as school staff, parents, guardians, sport coaches and youth workers. It provides learners with the knowledge on how to assist adolescents who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.

The course is available at level 1 which is aimed at those who have no previous experience with Mental Health First Aid and level 2, which offers more in-depth knowledge.

*Please note: participants are required to complete L2 Award in introduction to Mental Health Awareness prior to enrolling onto this course.
