During the design phase all technical aspects and latest requirements have been taken into consideration. Thanks to the numerous tests carried out by our riders we were able to achieve the ambitious goal to create a stylish boot ensuring performace, comfort and safety – a real “Made in Acerbis” product. The name comes from the X-MOVE system developed by Acerbis. The boot is made of two parts, connected by a hinge at the ankle bone area (1). This joint allows extensive flexion, providing the driver a unique driving feel.

protections I CERTIFICATION THE ACERBIS PROTECTIONS ARE ALL CERTIFIED AND HAVE MET AND EXCEEDED EN 1621 REQUIREMENTS. This certification ensures that the protections absorbs shocks, impacts - by simulating the same action in the laboratory. To reach these standards the protections is subject to a series of tests.
1) The standards provides security as a fundamental element of the minimum size of the protection zone. Dimensions and position of the guards must be stated on the label and separate information note included, provided by the manufacturer.
2) An anatomical test verifies that it protects several parts more likely subject to serious injuries such as spine and shoulder blades.
3) The protection is also conditioned for 24 hours at controlled temperature and humidity to simulate most extreme conditions, tests are repeated several times to guarantee the protection capabilities. The back protector must be subjected to impact tests, performed to simulate the dangers of collision with sharp edges, such as the curbs of sidewalk.
4) A special pictogram showing the certification must be clearly visibly on the product packaging.

ACERBIS TRIPLES ITS PROTECTION WITH THE COSMO AND COSMO MX Thanks to the great feedback Acerbis has received since the introduction of the Cosmo Series, its R&D department has been able to add elements to the back protection which has allowed the Cosmo to be EN 1621-02/03 LEVEL 02 certified.
Nb: There are two levels of certification that correspond to two very different levels of safety (less residual strength provides better protection) Level 1 – Maximum average residual strength 18kN **, maximum strength for a single impact 24 kN Level 2 - Maximum average residual strength 9kN **, maximum strenght for a single impact 12 kN
The deflector features and ergonomic design that follows the natural shape of the spine. The back protection is made of d3o™ with a removable lower plate to accommodate shorter riders. The deflector is designed to accommodate a neck brace, as the front harness features a removable cover and the back is formed for precise fitment of the brace. Other technical features of the roost deflector include elastic removable band closure with double Velcro adjustments, preformed PE padding, front protection that extends across the chest, and back padding that consists of two parts; one that is removable and washable and is 14021 certified. The form fiting bodice worn underneath the deflector is made of breathable elastic mesh fabric. The plastic protection on the shoulders and elbows is EN 1621 -1/97 certified. The MX version features removable arm protection. The back protection is EN 1621-02/03 certified. The Cosmo model is suitable for Enduro style riding. The Cosmo MX version is more suited for motocross riding and is characterized by the versatility of its arm guards. The final version, the Serio, features the basic back protection of the Cosmo, with the option of adding the full bodice and/or MX arm guards for full customization.
