arch. Ósbjørn JACOBSEN, Henning Larsen Architects, Special Guest INGLASS Warsaw 2014 "It has definitely been a positive experience. It was a very good blend having a lot of very inspiring, different approaches, lectures, which went well with different shorter lectures in between that were more technical, showing what they are doing, quite inspiring also. I really feel that there is something bubbling in the Eastern part of Europe, which is very interesting for architects."

Piotr KOMALA, Marketing and Innovations Director, Saint-Gobain Glass Polska, Official Partner INGLASS Warsaw 2014 "It was a big opportunity to meet in one place so many people. It is a big challenge for us today to combine our forces for close cooperation between architects, glass producers and investors, to reach the ambitious goals of our customers. They are looking for better parameters, better design, performance, looking for a good service and smart communication, and to reach these dreams we have to combine forces and work together."

arch. Mariusz ŚCISŁO, President of the Association of Polish Architects - SARP "I am pleasantly surprised because a lot architects came from outside of Warsaw especially for this conference. The conference is very interesting because glass is a wonderful material for architecture. Now, after the crisis, we have new ideas about how to use glass, one has to reduce energy for heating and for cooling, and in this case glass has to be more efficient, more energy friendly. It is a new way to use glass in architecture. I think this is the problem for our profession and this event is connected with this problem."

Markus Plettau, Regional Market leader, High Performance Building Solutions at Dow Corning, Partner INGLASS Warsaw 2014 "I am positively surprised to see that there are so many architects, that there are engineering companies as well, sharing all their knowledge. It is good to see the other side because we are coming from the industry and we have had an inside-out look from time to time in this kind of events. It is a really nice event, a lot of interest is generated through all these presentations. I am excited to see there is so much interest in the innovations we have presented today."

arch. Rainer MAHLAMÄKI, Partner LAHDELMA & MAHLAMÄKI ARCHITECTS "The reason why I accepted the invitation is because I saw in the program that this will be a very well prepared conference. My first reaction was that there is a list of very good speakers and also representatives of prominent architectural offices giving speeches about architectural use of glass. It has been a very big pleasure to be here."

arch. Serban TIGANAS, President of the Order of the Architects of Romania “I think the conference has exceeded the expectations of many and my explanation is that the format of the conference has been practised in Romania. After the 10 similar expo conferences that have taken place in Bucharest, an equilibrium has been reached, a science of making things happen, of inviting speakers compatible with each other, with the subject, with the expectations of the audience, and I think this is a good time to come to Poland, to export this event. I find it very interesting that after publishing the program on Facebook, before coming here, I received some very interesting responses from people I did not know, about the relationship between Poland and Romania, people who appreciated this connection, this link that seems to be missing. I believe that things have started very well, I am extremely curious to see how they will continue and if the organising team will succeed in stabilising the event in Warsaw as has happened in Bucharest. In Bucharest, I have followed the audience and found that it always consisted of a devoted public, certain people, certain faces that I would always see, which means something, and always new people as well. I am very curious to see how the Polish will act. Polish architecture is very interesting, not very well-known in Romania, I do not know why, but it seem like in the former communist block, relations have been developed in a

selective manner – I am referring to cultural relations, the interest in architecture. For me, as a Romanian, even though I know quite a lot about European architecture, visiting Poland has been relevant and I think that more Romanians should do this. I do do not know if we have attracted the interest of the Polish, but from the stories behind the scenes they seem to be very interested and not just out of politeness.” Prof. Deniz İNCEDAYI, President of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey, İstanbul "So far I have to say that it is really important to create such an international platform for architects and professionals. Today we need to share and to learn from our experiences. The good experiences, the bad examples, they always teach us a lot in architecture. So it is a really important platform, the international sharing platform of INGLASS, and also focusing on the glass and its constructions in architecture and design today. It is a really multidimensional problem, it is not just the material of glass, it is a kind of social and also environmental responsibility today. It is very important to contribute to this kind of platforms in the theory and also in practice, combining the theoretical part, the research, with the implementation. Because you have here very famous, world-known architects, and their implementations, their projects, competitions, examples - it is important to learn from these examples and to see their continuity, their success. I congratulate INGLASS, the organisers and also the partners because it is very important today to give these messages to the architectural profession, education and also practice. You get a lot of feedback from the planners, architects and also real users. These platforms are part of architectural education." Wolfgang RIEDER, Rieder Group "The conference has been very good. I am astonished to having so many architects here, I am looking forward to conversation leads, whatever comes out of this conference. I am always positive, I hope my speech will be remembered, I tried to be really focused on what people are interested in. It is a great opportunity to spread the word, to get the news out. Many of my colleagues and speakers already did a kind of seeking for questions which need to be answered. The audience kind of steer you in a certain direction."

arch. Juan COLL-BARREU, Coll-Barreu Arquitectos "The organisation was perfect, also the speakers, I enjoyed a lot their presentations. It is a very good idea to have this kind of events, that people all over Europe know your events."

arch. Andrzej BULANDA, Bulanda Mucha Architekci "It was very interesting for me, because I did not expect that there would be such a wide variety of subjects. It is interesting to listen to both technical speeches and pure architectural presentations. It is a mix between architectural presentations and new trends, technologic presentations which is something we can use in our future designs."

arch. Ósbjørn JACOBSEN Architect and Partner at Henning Larsen Architects Ósbjørn Jacobsen of Henning Larsen Architects in cooperation with Studio Olafur Eliasson won the main prize Mies van der Rohe 2013 for Contemporary Architecture for project Harpa – Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre. Ósbjørn has been stationed in Iceland in recent years, managing the construction of Harpa – Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre, which opened in August 2011. Thus, he has gained vast experience of leading complex large-scale building projects with a broad range of national and international collaboration partners. For the time to come, Ósbjørn will have focus on pursuing new business opportunities in and around the Faroe Islands, where he is living, while at the same time working with concept and project development at the company office in Copenhagen. Harpa – Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre, Mies van der Rohe 2013 winner, was presented in INGLASS Warsaw 2014. Harpa gathers inspiration from the northern lights and the dramatic Icelandic scenery. Situated on the border between land and sea, the Concert Hall stands out as a large, radiant sculpture reflecting both sky and harbour space as well as the vibrant life of the city. The spectacular facades have been designed in close collaboration between Henning Larsen Architects, the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson and the engineering companies Rambøll and ArtEngineering GmbH from Germany.
