SENSE AND SENSIBILITY Brushed, hand-scraped, bevelled, silky smooth, or matte. Each Kährs plank is unique and individually treated according to its own unique composition of knots and graining. When Kährs launched Woodloc ® in 2000 – the first glue-free joint system in the world – it revolutionized the wood flooring industry. This ingenious joint system locks the boards together mechanically, creating a completely gap-free floor.
BEAUTY WITH A CONSCIENCE A multi-layer hardwood floor is the most environmental friendly floor you can choose. It optimizes the use of raw material, is made from sustainable material and is recyclable. At our plant in Nybro, nothing goes to waste. The parts of the log that we cannot use become biofuel. Some 45,000 people in our neighbourhood have their homes heated by recycled wood from Kährs. Kährs has a strong and long-term commitment to environmental issues. Our operations were certified from both an environmental and quality in the 1990’s.
WORKS WELL WITH UNDERFLOOR HEATING Kährs floors work perfectly well combined with underfloor heating. One reason is the strong Woodloc joints, another the stable and well-balanced construction of the board.

KÄHRS STYLE GUIDE Kährs offers many types of surface treatments, silk matte, matte, high gloss, and Nature oil. No matter which one you choose, your floor will be ready to walk on as soon as it is installed. All Kährs surface treatments are solvent-free. In 1984, we were the first flooring manufacturer to implement an entirely solvent-free production process.
SILK MATTE FINISH Our silk matte finish complements the wood’s character by emphasizing its natural structure. It also makes the floor durable and easy to clean. At the same time, the finish is one of the most durable, however, it doesn’t conceal the wood’s natural luster.
BRUSHING Brushing the surface highlights the natural structure of the grain and emphasizes the texture of the wood. Brushing effects vary, depending on the wood species. Brushes are made from different materials in varying levels of hardness, and brushing is often carried out along with other refining treatments such as staining and bevelling of edges.

MATTE FINISH Our matte finish creates the impression that the floor is made from untreated bare wood. The soft to touch natural surface is incredibly tactile and pleasing underfoot. Matte finish is durable and easy to maintain.
STAINING Staining further enhances the wood’s natural color tones. It also allows us to apply new colors, thus completely transforming the appearance of the wood. Kährs offers a wide range of stained options – from the palest white, to rich charcoal shades.
OIL Oil brings out the fine structure and grain of the wood and enhances its natural color. Floors treated with oil are easy to clean and maintain, but should be oiled regularly.
SMOKED This special process alters the color and shade of each plank. There are two grades of smoking; a light and the darker fulled smoked.
HIGH GLOSS FINISH The high gloss finish gives your floor a shiny, polished look that enhances the beauty of the wood species you have chosen. It also protects your floor from everyday wear and tear.

HANDSCRAPING
The bevelled edges of each individual board of Kährs plank floors, imbues the floor with a distinct look. Kährs offers a number of floors with a bevelled edge finish in varying degrees, from “microbevelling” – tiny clarification and reinforcement of the edges created using sandpaper – to more prominent bevelling on both the long and the short sides, for a rustic, robust appearance.
By using different tools for manual wood scraping and sanding, we can give a new wood floor a worn appearance. A great amount of handwork goes into each floor to achieve its rustic character.

Made from regular timber grade, planks are uniform, with small variations in grain and tone.
These floors are characterized by subtle variations in color, tone and pattern and are without knots.
Featuring dramatic graining, gnarls and knots, these floors boast greater color variations and have a more lively, rustic character. The country selection also includes floors with very rustic look with cracks and knots.

The surface layer of every 1-strip board is sawn from a single piece of wood. The natural appearance of the wood, including knots, color variations and grain, is reflected in this. However, for some of our 1-strip floor collections, we have selected wood that offers little variation in color and a minimum of knots. Kährs 1-strip flooring is available in several different lengths and widths.
The surface layer is two strips’ wide. The strips are selected and arranged to give each 2-strip floor its own unique character. Kährs’ 2-strip flooring is available in two options: long strips, and short strips.
The surface layer of 3-strip flooring is created by placing three strips of wood of different lengths widthwise and at random. At Kährs, we produce 3-strip flooring configurations in a way that enhanceits lively expression, but we also create compositions that evoke a calmer feel.
Kährs Dutch pattern flooring is a classic floor that benefits from a modern construction. Kährs offers a wide variety of designs, from classical to modern.
The Chevron pattern represents a modern take on a classical pattern. The ingenious construction of “ready-made” patterned boards ensures easy and fast installation.
