AAUG Insurance Company Ltd Expats - Not A One Way Disposition

Many expatriates may think that moving to another country is a permanent proposition. After the due diligence and finally deciding on that better, healthier and more affordable place to live and actually moving there, returning to the country you left can only mean having somehow failed. Not at all. Returning "home" may have to do with family. A couple recently returned to the United States after years of living happily in Ecuador because their daughter in "the States" was giving birth to their first grandchild. They decided to keep their Ecuadorian apartment, rent it out as a vacation home for extra income and, when the time is right, go back to the place where they had enjoyed living.

Another reason expats return home is medical. Although the medical care in foreign countries is excellent and have nothing to envy from the care in the United States, there can still be reasons for submitting to the more expensive U.S. care. As a recent returnee observed, "Nothing against the medical care here, my doctor did a wonderful job diagnosing my illness, but the best heart surgeons are in the States, that's just a fact, and I qualify for Medicare." In life, circumstances change. The reasons for leaving your home country and those for having chosen your destination may not remain static over time. Circumstances change not only for family or medical reasons, changes can happen in the home country or the destination country that can dictate a change in plans. It is just a fact of life that things change and you need to adapt, and maybe the reasons that led you to leave your home country may lead you back. That is not a failure, it is just common sense.
