TONIGHT’S GAME

The #3-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols will play host to the NAIA’s No. 2-ranked Union Lady Bulldogs (2-0) in a non-counting contest this evening. While this is UT’s second exhibition game, Union already has two regular season victories in the win column having defeated Hannibal-LaGrange, 79-62, on Nov. 1 and the University of St. Francis (Ill.), 82-45, on Saturday afternoon in Jackson, Tenn.

No. 3-ranked Tennessee opens the 2011-12 season on Sunday, Nov. 13 against Pepperdine at 4 p.m. in Thompson-Boling Arena. This will mark the first meeting between the two universities. .

THE 4-1-1 ON UNION The Lady Bulldogs enter the 2011-12 campaign as the No. 2-ranked team in the NAIA. They finished last season as the NAIA national champion runnerup, just one win shy of completing a threepeat and winning their fifth title in seven years. Three-time All-American and preseason TranSouth AllConference selection Lavanda Ross is the only returning starter from last year’s 35-2 squad.
