New for 2011 The quest to make quality improvements for the benefit of our guests never ceases at Perisher. Here are some of the 2011 initiatives… •P erisher’s MyRide lift tickets. A new dimension in lift tickets offering easier purchasing, flexibility and more time on the slopes. The MyRide system is fully integrated with an online platform allowing guests to buy products online before arriving on the mountain. Guests will be able to log on to Perisher’s MyRide Store and recharge their tickets to get “direct to lift” access. At the end of the day, log on to Perisher’s website to see which lifts you have ridden and how much vertical you have achieved. In addition to lift tickets, guests will be able to purchase a range of group lessons and hire equipment online to allow you to get onto the slopes more quickly once you arrive at the resort.

•T op to bottom lights and music on the PlayStation Slopestyle Park on Front Valley will give freestylers the chance to continue jumping, jibbing and grooving on all Night Skiing and Boarding evenings. Plus, great night events for guests to enjoy. •N ew Pony Ride Skier Conveyor at Blue Cow. The Pony Ride and Snowsports School Rope Tows have now been replaced with a new 145 metre skier conveyor. It’s ideal for first timers and beginners getting to know the snow. •A utomated snowmaking at Blue Cow. Close to $1 million has been invested to improve snowmaking output on Zali’s and at the bottom of Excelerator and Lower Roller Coaster runs. It not only provides quality top to bottom coverage, but the new equipment means better energy saving efficiencies.

Tube Town, Perisher’s snow tubing park, is action-packed for all ages. Slide down expertly groomed lanes on soft covered tubes and feel the exhilaration of fast snow riding in a safe, fun environment; then catch a lift back to the top and do it all again!
Groomer Tours Experience the thrill of riding in one of Perisher’s $450,000 snow groomers on night-skiing nights and get the lowdown on how the slopes are prepared. Climb aboard on Tuesdays and Saturdays during July and August and on Tuesdays during September.

Ride the Village 8 Express chairlift under the stars from 6:00 – 9:00pm, Tuesdays and Saturdays in July / August and Tuesdays only in September and get the most from your day! Snowsports School 2.5 Hour Group Lessons Whether it’s your first time to the snow or you are a seasoned veteran, Perisher’s range of group lift and lesson packages offer a great way of exploring the resort’s terrain while improving your skills in a social, group environment. Lessons are tailored for beginner through to advanced levels, with Mountain Workshops the perfect choice for advanced skiers and boarders. All packages include your lift ticket and a daily 2.5 hour lesson. First Timer packages are available through the Smiggin Holes and Blue Cow Snowsports Schools. Discovery Kids – 3 and 4 years This “ski and care” program combines a mix of skiing time with games and other activities. Snowsports School kids programs continued... All Day Kids Programs Having fun – that’s what our All Day Kids programs are all about. There’s no time to be bored in Australia’s largest, family friendly resort. Whatever your child’s ability, Adventure Kids (5 to 7 years), Explorer Kids (8 to 11 years) and Perisher Teens (12 to 14 years) programs cater for all levels, from beginners to experienced, skiing, boarding or both. Fun-filled programs with an emphasis on technical skills are available for a single day or up to a week of mountain exploration! The ski programs are available at Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes. Board programs available at Perisher Valley from 26 June to 29 August.

Lessons are held at 9:30am and 12:30pm at Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes and 10:30am at Blue Cow. Private Lessons Penguin Private – 3 to 4 years A one hour, one-on-one private lesson for the littlest of skiers. Mum & Me Private Lesson – 3 to 5 years This is a great way to start skiing and avoid separation anxiety. During a 1 hour Mum & Me private lesson, our instructors teach your child while giving you tips (mum or dad welcome) on how to develop your child’s skills.

Motorists are legally required to carry properly fitting chains in any vehicle other than 4WD’s in a ‘snow-ice’ risk section within the National Park. It’s an easy half hour drive from Jindabyne in good weather. Entry to the National Park is $27 per car, per day. Annual passes are $190.

Mountain Bases and Parking Once in Perisher, you have a choice of five fully-serviced mountain base locations from which to begin your day’s skiing or boarding. Perisher Valley is the major entry point of Perisher and is accessible by car (free day parking) or by the Skitube Alpine Railway from Bullocks Flat. The Perisher Centre, located at the base of Front Valley, is the ‘hub’ of Perisher and offers a wide range of services including a lift ticket and Snowsports School office, Slopestyle Mountain Sports and other retail stores, Snowsports Hire, Snow Discovery Centre, Guest Services and Locker Hire. You can also find restaurants, cafés, bars, take-away food outlets, a chemist, clothing outlets, mountain photography shop, a jewellery store, an ATM and the luxurious Perisher Valley Hotel. In the Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal you will find lift ticket sales, Post Office, lockers, oversnow transport, a clothing and accessory store, souvenirs, donut shop, café and restaurant. Smiggin Holes is also accessible by car and offers free day parking. Facilities at Smiggin Holes include a Snowsports School office, lift ticket sales,
Guest Services, bars, restaurants, cafés, take-away food outlets, Snowsports Hire and ski accessories, souvenirs and a photo shop. Guthega is also accessible by car and has free day parking. Guthega’s facilities include lift ticket sales, Snowsports Hire, accessory shop, Burning Log Bistro and the Guthega Alpine Inn. Blue Cow is a day resort and is only accessible via Skitube from Perisher Valley or Bullocks Flat. Facilities include Snowsports School office, ski accessories and souvenir shop, Locker Hire (including equipment exchange facility), bistro, bar, alfresco dining, café and a photo shop. Bullocks Flat is the base terminal for the Skitube. FREE day, overnight and long-term parking is available with access into the resort via Skitube. Facilities include lift ticket and Snowsports School sales, Snowsports Hire, Ski and Board Tuning Shop, Guest Services, accessory and gift shop and a take-away kiosk.
On-mountain Transport Options FREE Shuttle Service A FREE shuttle service operates between Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes every 15 minutes from 7:30am to 6:00pm and until 9:30pm on Tuesday and on Saturday nights for night skiing and snowboarding. Pick-ups are from the turning circle at the Perisher Skitube Terminal and the metal bridge outside Smiggins Hotel at Smiggin Holes.
Oversnow Transport Hans Oversnow offers a transport service to all accommodation properties in Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes. Some properties offer their own services.
