Contact: Jesse Levin Tel: 203-‐275-‐7297 E: Levin@teamrubiconusa.org November 2nd 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BROOKLYN BOULDERS PROVIDES BASE OF OPERATION FOR TEAM RUBICON’S VETERAN EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS IN BROOKLYN Brooklyn Boulders (BKB) is hosting Team Rubicon’s Veteran Emergency Response Teams (VERTS) as they continue to respond to hurricane Sandy’s destruction around the New York Metropolitan area. “Team Rubicon unites the skills and experience of military veterans with medical professionals to rapidly deploy emergency response teams into crisis situations.” Team Rubicon currently has eleven teams deployed throughout the North East that have been helping with Search and Rescue activities as well as with the overall disaster cleanup and recovery process. Brooklyn Boulders is providing a staging area for the teams to deploy from and a warm, dry place for the them to relax, decompress, shower and access WIFI at the rock climbing gym located at 575 Degraw Street in Brooklyn. Brooklyn Boulders understands the incredible assets our veterans are, and are excited to support such a dynamic and effective organization as Team Rubicon. “The men and women coming out of military service are expert innovators, natural leaders and communicators, and are accustomed to solving challenging problems with minimal resources in hostile environments. As a civilian, there is no other demographic I would rather work along side of, be it in disaster response or business” says Jesse Levin, a member of Team Rubicon and the BKB climbing community. Brooklyn Boulders will be hosting a fundraiser to support Team Rubicon’s efforts in New York.
