36th HAM RADIO invites amateur radio enthusiasts to international convention Amateur radio – the buzz of technology and communication Radio amateurs are fascinated by technology, constantly searching for new developments, and enjoying the contact with people all over the world. So this radio hobby is a unique combination of technology and communication - and sport too. HAM RADIO encapsulates all facets of this hobby, and appeals to young and old alike. In 2010, 16,800 visitors came to the International Exhibition for Radio Amateurs in Friedrichshafen. HAM RADIO is the sector’s number one in Europe, and will be held for the 36th time from Friday 24 June to Sunday 26 June 2011. Major highlights include the HAM RALLYE, HAM tent camp, and teacher training. The 62nd Lake Constance Convention will be a big draw, with its presentations and meetings. In all, around 170 exhibitors will be there to provide an overview of the latest technology and equipment. Radio amateurs and electronics enthusiasts will get plenty of ideas, and shopping opportunities: from antennae, electro-technology and measuring devices, to hardware, software and electronics, as well as ancillary equipment and accessories. At the HAM flea market, hands-on hobbyists and enthusiasts will find second-hand accessories and spare parts brought by the general public. Dialogue and exchange of ideas One of the distinguishing features of HAM RADIO is the extensive supporting programme. One of the important elements is the 62nd Lake Constance meeting of DARC (German Amateur Radio Club): true to its motto “By radio enthusiasts for radio enthusiasts”, visitors will find a blend of dialogue and exchange of ideas, as well as a focus on the fun of communication and technology. Dialogue and exchange of ideas The HAM RADIO concept of training and young people over the last few years has proved a great success, and extremely popular with participants. So visitors to HAM RADIO 2011 can look forward to this event.

HAM RADIO lädt zum weltweiten Treffen der Funkamateure ein Amateurfunk – Spaß an Technik und Kommunikation Funken ist die Begeisterung für Technik, die stetige Suche nach Neuentwicklungen und der Spaß am Kontakt zu Menschen aus aller Welt. Damit verbindet das Hobby in einzigartiger Weise Technik, Kommunikation und auch Sport. Die HAM RADIO bildet alle Facetten dieses Hobbys ab und spricht dabei Jung und Alt gleichermaßen an. Im Jahr 2010 kamen 16.800 Besucher zur Internationalen Amateurfunk-Ausstellung nach Friedrichshafen. Die HAM RADIO ist die Nummer Eins der Branche in Europa und öffnet von Freitag, 24. bis Sonntag, 26. Juni 2011 bereits zum 36. Mal. Einen hohen Stellenwert nehmen HAM-RALLYE, HAM-Zeltlager und die Lehrerfortbildung ein. Das 62. Bodenseetreffen lockt mit Vorträgen und Treffen. Ingesamt geben rund 170 Aussteller einen Überblick über die neueste Technik und Ausstattung. Funkamateure und Elektronik-Begeisterte erhalten Ideen und umfangreiche Einkaufsmöglichkeiten: Von Antennen, Elektrotechnik und Messgeräten über Hardware, Software und Elektronik bis hin zu Zusatzgeräten und Zubehör. Der HAM-Flohmarkt bietet Tüftlern und Bastlern ausschließlich gebrauchtes Zubehör und Ersatzteile von Privatpersonen an. Dialog und Erfahrungsaustausch Ein Markenzeichen der HAM RADIO ist ihr umfangreiches Rahmenprogramm. Ein wichtiger Bestandteil ist das 62. Bodenseetreffen des DARC e.V. getreu dem Motto des Deutschen Amateur Radio Clubs e.V.: „Von Funkamateuren für Funkamateure“ steht hier der Dialog und der Erfahrungsaustausch untereinander sowie der Spaß an Kommunikation und Technik im Vordergrund. Funkkontakt für Jugendliche – Aus- und Weiterbildung kompakt Das Weiterbildung- und Jugendkonzept der vergangenen Jahre auf der HAM RADIO hat sich bewährt und erfreut sich großer Beliebtheit bei den Teilnehmern. Deshalb dürfen sich die Besucher der HAM RADIO 2011 erneut auf diese freuen.
