Checklist of Block 2 submissions/ presentations for PROGRESS MARK 1 (20% of year mark) – assessment during block 2 (8-12 August 2011) [Please note that all work must be updated on your blogs, by 12h00 on 25 July.] A. Project work 1. Hub design (STW & CTD) STW Provide evidence of clear design idea (concept) formulation and development in the sketch plan design – refer to brief for project outcomes and assessment criteria CTD Technological development and resolution of design idea (concept) into the detail – refer to brief for project outcomes and assessment criteria 

Presentation of work for STW and CTD marks: Oral presentation

3 – 5 minute oral presentation (STW and CTD combined) plus question time

While you talk, refer to (i.e. point to) visuals in either digital format (projected power point slides, e.g.) or to-scale printed poster format. Visual presentation

Post all your visual work on your blog

Pin up your printed poster or, if you choose the digital format, pin up black and white prints, A3 format

-

Make sure to plan your printed or digital poster. Remember it should convince the viewer that you have mastered the design process. Provide evidence related to the project outcomes and assessment criteria. Include your group work formulation of the idea (block 1), precedent studies, functional analysis and technological analysis (extracted from your STW and CTD exercises) , key moments in your design process (diagrams, drawings and photos of models),

Bring along ALL process models


Support material -

Project file or folder with all your sketches and scribbles, STW and CTD exercises, notes of crits and consultations – you may even print out skype crit texts if you wish.

Sketch book with observation sketches, as well as sketch book exercise. The sketch book exercise may be dealt with in more detail by Prof Raman or Andre van Graan during the Wednesday, 10 August theory session. However, the sketch book mark may only be incorporated into the November mark.

STW and CTD open book tests (10 August) Test preparation will be posted before the August block. The outcome of the test will be DULY PERFORMED or not – no marks will be allocated.
