PADDY KIELTY BACK TO THE STAGE WITH A NIGHT IN NOVEMBER FOLLOWING sell-out previous runs at the Grand Opera House, as well as in London’s West End, comedian Patrick Kielty returns to Northern Ireland in September with the world-wide smashhit Marie Jones play, A Night in November. The play’s run at the Grand Opera House from 7 September is preceded by a short run at Derry’s Millennium Forum. Produced by Martin Lynch (Lay Up Your Ends and The History of The Troubles accordin’ to my Da), the comedy tells the story of Kenneth McCallister, the honestto-goodness Protestant bigot whose life is turned upside down by one remarkable event. Kenneth finds himself on the terrace at Windsor Park for a crucial Northern Ireland v Republic of Ireland football match and begins to recognise, for the first time, the pettiness and horror of bigotry when he witnesses the sheer sectarianism between the two teams. In the wake of this match he starts to reevaluate his life and decides on a monumentous change. A Night in November is a huge testament to writer Marie Jones, Director Ian McIlhinney and Martin Lynch whose combined talents have ensured that the play is just as poignant today as it was in its conception a decade ago. WITH BIG BROTHER'S ELEGANT WEE BROTHER ROBIN ELLIOTT So big brother has five brand new, never seen before housemates and what a pack of excitement they are turning out to be.......NOT. Kenneth, Bea, Hira, David and Tom were drafted in to BRING SOME MUCH-NEEDED FUN TO THE HOUSE. BUT WHAT WORRIES ME IS HOW MANY TIMES CAN WE JUST PLONK NEW PEOPLE IN AND HOPE IT DEFLECTS FROM THE PILE OF IDIOTS THE PRODUCERS PICKED TO ENTER THE HOUSE. David, 28, a rag’n’bone man from Dewsbury would love to be a catwalk model for Vivienne Westwood, I can safely say that’s one dream he’ll not achieve!

The first new housemate to enter was Kenneth, who was met by a very excited Karly – who could only squeal ‘that’s my boyfriend’ over and over AND OVER AGAIN. She had just calmed down and was ready to enjoy spending time with him, when in a cruel twist of fate she was evicted - HA HA ONE GOOD REASON TO WATCH IT OVER AGAIN. As I watched, it seemed inevitable really that anyone but her could go, INFACT THEY RUINED THE SURPRISE A BIT. Kenneth is 24 and describes himself as an international playboy - YEAH RIGHT.....SO INTERNATIONAL HE'S DECIDED TO CONFINE HIMSELF TO THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE.

Finally in the house was Tom, 27, a rugby playing, yacht importing, chartered surveyor. I thought he might be a hit with the ladies but he’s not made a good impression with the housemates, who feel threatened by him and are convinced he has a game plan.

another new housemate is Hira, a 24 year old fashion designer from Dublin, sweet and softly spoken but also a little bit dim. It was hilarious as BB himself lost patience trying to explain the secret task. A task which she’ll undoubtedly fail, she couldn’t find the hamper which she stepped over to get in the diary room! The new housemates must get the old housemates to nominate Halfwit and Noirin. They face eviction if they fail. She left the diary room and told everyone she had a secret she couldn’t talk about it – not quite how the games played love.

I've now decided that since they are all a pack of idiotic nutjobs we should be backing poor half-wit to win. Not only did he not swap his token for a selfish prize last week but it would be fun to hear his name called at the final. Who goes?? You decide........

We are confident that this second Dance4life album will be a success with such an impressive track list." time. The Sligo singer, who already has a three-yearold daughter Nicole and nine-month-old son Patrick with wife Gillian, is delighted with the news. He said: “I know a lot of you have already heard the rumours, but I wanted to confirm to you myself that Gillian and I are expecting another baby. “We’ve been keeping it a complete secret from everyone for a while. “The baby’s due early next year and we’re completely over the moon about it. "The thought of becoming AGAIN is just amazing!”

the role of a ruthless fashion designer in a new BBC comedy. Dervla plays scheming Davina Bailey in Material Girl. As the designer of the moment, Davina is the woman that every hot star wants to be dressed by – and she isn't about to give up her crown as queen of fashion. The show follows the trials and tribulations of Ali Redcliffe, played by Leonora Crichlow, a young fashion designer trying to make a name for herself in the cruel world of fashion.

IRISH rockers U2 are taking to Twitter to keep fans up to date on the latest happenings on their 360 Tour. Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr have been tweeting to fans since they kicked off their tour in Barcelona earlier this month. With updates and comments, the band are also exclusively posting pictures while on the road. For a closer look into the 360 Tour LOG ONTO Twitter.com/u2_360tour.

IRISH actor Michael Gambon has revealed he is so used to playing bad guys he will miss playing Dumbledore when the Harry Potter franchise is over. The Dublin-born star, who plays Hogwarts’ headmaster Albus Dumbledore in the latest film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, loves the role and will be sad to say goodbye to the character. "I've played quite a lot of crooks and killers, and that's quite interesting," he said. "Then Dumbledore is the complete opposite, isn't he? He's a nice old man.” The 68-year-old actor got the role after Richard Harris, who played Dumbledore in the first two films, died in 2002. And he has found the Harry Potter phenomenon very “odd.” "They rang me up and said, 'Will you do it?' Like any other job I said, 'Sure.’ "Then you find yourself in the middle of this thing. "I hadn't realized before just how powerful these things are. I just do the job and go home and you forget it. This will stick out as being a happy memory, being with a thing for so long and the worldwide love of it. You never forget that."

HARRY Potter’s Rupert Grint has hinted co-star Daniel Radcliffe is still loved up with an Irish actress. Grint, who plays Ron in the wizard franchise, revealed Radcliffe was still linked to his fellow Equus castmate Laura O’Toole. When asked about the relationship, Grint said: "They're good." Busy promoting Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Radcliffe, 19, said in a recent interview that he wasn’t dating at the minute. "You know, I'm not really doing the dating thing,” he said. “It's not a case of 'I don't have time for a girlfriend'. I do. It's just like everyone else who's single I suppose.” WWW.FAMEMAGAZINE.CO.UK

REPORTERS Tina Calder & Gemma garrett

SNOW Patrol lead singer Gary Lightbody admitted to being freaked out during the band’s recent support stint for U2. But it wasn’t supporting the world’s biggest rock band that worried him, it was the elaborate staging. The centre piece if the whole show was a “claw” which projected the band on stage with wraparound screens. Gary said when he was on stage watching the spectacle: “I bet everybody is wondering what the hell this is -- me, too.” Now AFTER OXEGEN Gary and the lads will be heading to Europe to support U2 in Sweden, Poland and Croatia from the end of this month.

FIESTY SINGER LILY ALLEN MAY NOT HAVE IMPRESSED THE CROWDS WITH HER SET INCLUDING A COVER OF BRITNEY'S WOMANIZER BUT SNOW PATROL SHOWED THEIR SUPPORT FOR HER DEDICATING THEIR SONG SHUT YOUR EYES TO HER. LILY THEN SPENT THE REST OF THE DAY ACCOMPANIED BY HER TWO BURLY BODYGUARDS WHILE SHE CHATTED AND MINGLED WITH FANS BACKSTAGE.

NORTHERN Ireland artists took the lead at Oxegen on Friday. Gary Lightbody and the Snow Patrol lads headlined the main stage along with Blur, Lily Allen and The Script. But it was The O2 Stage that saw thousands of Ulster fans cram the stage as East Belfast singer Duke Special, County Down rockers The Answer (PICTURED ABOVE) and Carrickfergus band Therapy? stole the show. International DJ and composer David Holmes took to the Red Bull Music Academy stage while In Case Of Fire rocked the 2FM New Bands Stage. ALSO REPRESENTING NORTHERN IRELAND WERE CASHIER No9 AND IAIN ARCHER. Earlier on Friday Duke Special and Therapy? spent time in the Hot Press Signing Tent where apparently the Therapy? boys were left dumbfounded at the number of fans who turned up for them.

WACKY singer Lady GaGa made sure she stole all the attention from the rest of the artists at this year’s Oxegen festival by giving organisers a 20-page list of backstage demands. Apparently she sent organisers in a spin by ordering everything from more than ten different soft drinks and half a deli counter to healthy food supplements and a range of furniture including mirrors. One Oxegen insider revealed she had the “worst” rider they had seen in a long time and was worried that she was going to be “more hassle than she’s worth”.

DUBLIN BAND THE SCRIPT USED OXEGEN TO EXCLUSIVELY ANNOUNCE THEIR NEW IRISH TOUR. LEAD SINGER DANNY O'DONOGHUE (PICTURED HERE WITH REPORTERS TINA CALDER & GEMMA GARRETT SAID: "WE'VE BEEN AROUND THE WORLD AND DONE MANY SHOWS, BUT PERHAPS ONE THING WE'VE NOT DONE IS REALLY GIVE SOMETHING BACK TO OUR IRISH FANS" FT IS TO YOUR LE THE SPACE PUT A WANTED TO WHERE WE D T J AND OF BELFAS NICE PIC C ONAL MUSI INTERNATI ES. NORTHERN Ireland radio star and TV presenter Stuart McQuitty was revealed last week as one of the top contestants in an Irish reality show. Stuart is now down to the last few wannabe presenters vying to become Ireland’s newest showbiz presenter on TV3’s hit show Xpose. Now the top tennis coach, who is now stranger to TV success having hosted numerous programmes in his lengthly career, is now taking a break from his day job teaching young people and adults the popular sport. The hunky star, 33, who is keeping tightlipped about his involvement with the programme, has already told friends he’s excited about the potential opportunities the show will offer. Currently Stuart is the Breakfast Show host on BFBS community radio bringing with him a whole host of celebrity guests such as Una Healy from The Saturdays, Irish Grand Slam and Lions rugby star Tommy Bowe, ex-Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton and former Miss Great Britain Gemma Garrett among others. Stuart is in the running to become the next showbiz presenter on the TV3 Xpose team later this year. If successful he will replace Lorraine Keane who left the celebrity gossip show two months ago. See Stuart on Total Xposure on Tuesday at 9pm on TV3. DUBLIN star Brenda

comedy. The actress, who won an Oscar for her role as Christy Brown's mother in My Left Foot, will star alongside Moonstruck actress Olympia Dukakis in Cloudburst, a tale of two lovers who escape their nursing home to get married before one of them dies. The lesbian couple, who have been together for 30 years, hit the road heading to Canada and pick up a male hitchhiker along the way. Thom Fitzgerald, who worked with Dukakis on the films "The Event" and "3 Needles," is writing and directing the movie.

botox. The Irish funny man said while he is conscious of ageing he has “chickened out” of having botox injections. “I haven’t had any help yet but I’ve booked in to do my eyes a couple of times and chickened out before. Maybe it’s too late now. I’ve had these bags for too long to get rid of them quietly" HE SAID. But the Totally Saturday host admits he does use anti-ageing products. He said: “I do spend a fortune on creams and potions. But maybe I’d look even worse without it?”

JIMMY IN MUSIC VIDEO NORTHERN Ireland actor Jimmy Nesbitt is set to take the pop charts by storm. But before you rush out and buy a CD of his dulcet tones, calm down he’s only in the video. Jimmy is going to be the star of Just Jack’s new music video for his forthcoming single The Day I Died. According to music insiders Jimmy was selected because he’s one of the star’s biggest fans. The project which is being led by music legend Elton John sees Jimmy play the character of “dad”. A source within the music production company said: “The video relives the day of a young father (James Nesbitt). “He looks somewhat dishevelled with torn clothes, grazed skin and a nasty injury to his head. “The video will question what has happened to him? But he seems unaware of the injury...”. Just Jack is set to make a cameo appearance in the video and it’s due to be shot later this summer.
