BB Dakota is a modern lifestyle brand for a girl whose style is timelessly, effortlessly chic. The look is Americana with a twist, and that twist is about uniting opposites – masculine and feminine, raw and sophisticated, bold and delicate.
Launched in 2005, BB Dakota is designed by a seriously fashionable mother and daughter duo, Gloria and Katharine Brandes. Both are strong, intelligent, highly opinionated women who know what they like. They prize quality workmanship, pushing the envelope, and anyone who can recite Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin in perfect meter. Both women believe in design that foils expectations, beauty that surprises. While the two are similar in many ways, they also have their own distinct views that each brings to the design process . This gives the BB Dakota line its compelling duality.
To this end, the BB Dakota girl is glamorous, sophisticated, at times preppy, at times bohemian, but always feminine and confident. She is also passionate.
