WAKEFIELD DISTRICT Council Elections 6th MAY 2010

GEOFF WALSH

The local choice for Pontefract South I AM CAMPAIGNING FOR: • Changes to end Town End traffic chaos • End the neglect of our roads under Labour • Keeping neighbourhood policing in Pontefract

Promoted by and on behalf of Geoff Walsh, of 11 Market Place, Pontefract, WF8 1AG Printed by PrintForms, Cinema House, Doncaster Road, Wakefield, WF1 5HL

ACTION for you ALL YEAR ROUND Over the last four years I have been working with residents across the community to see that their issues are taken seriously. Some in Wakefield see me as a thorn in their sides, but the needs of people must come first. Given the chance I intend to keep pushing to get things done. Working together we have been able to resolve many problems, but there is more to do. Help me to help you, with your support on the 6th May I can do this. Every vote really does count.

Geoff has taken action to get the Council to look again at Town End

Geoff will work to make sure services like recycling are accessible

In 2008 Wakefield’s Labour Council signed the Government’s Housing Growth Points Scheme. Pontefract has been volunteered by Labour to have up to 10% of the 20,000 extra houses that the Government wishes to see built. We will oppose development that fails to account for the needs of our population for good infrastructure, quality development and protection of our green spaces. I will fight to stop these ill-considered big developments.

YOUR PRIORITIES ARE MY PRIORITIES

Supporting efforts to get more real healthcare at Pontefract Hospital and campaigning against more cuts in bed numbers. Campaigning for better school drop off and collection points including road safety measures and parking provision. Enforcing the scheme against littering in the Town Centre and cleaning up our footpaths and public spaces.

Ending the chaos at Town End junction and making sure Wakefield Council come up with viable alternatives quickly. Supporting the ‘Pontefract pound’ and local businesses with real help to cut the burdens imposed by local government.
