Vocational Learning Levels: Knowledge, Skills and Competency Requirements

VOCATIONAL LEARNING Level Knowledge 2 Learners at this level must have a basic factual knowledge of the categories of vehicles used for mobility and transport purposes, Licence Categories and the National Standard of training that is relevant to the category of Licence they require or hold as the driver or rider of a vehicle in the Mobility and Transport sector. Additionally the learner must know the safety rules that apply to motorised vehicles and cycles in accordance with the Highway Code which is relevant to the EU Member State they driver or ride in.

QUALIFICATION CHECK Skills

Competence

Learners must be able to demonstrate the basic process of acquiring knowledge and reasoning intuition in order to apply the practical skills required to access and use relevant information relating to driver and rider attestation that applies to routine safety checks prior to operational activities.

Learners who work and/or study at this level shall be under supervision with some autonomy in a workplace or road environment.

Learners at this level shall be required to solve routine problems using simple rules, tools and tasks relating to safety and inspection of mobility and transport vehicles, and associate ancillary equipment.

A certificate of competency shall be issued once compliance with the National Standard has been demonstrated to the relevant driving or riding activity. Sign off must be completed by an approved mentor or peer.
