The portfolio records the main works I did in the second of my one-year exchange program in Cracow University of Technology (Politechnika Krakowska) in Poland. Since I'm in the progress of my exchange, I can't really give an integrating summary of my whole exchange study life in Cracow. But what exchange study life definitely was the most impressive time in my life so far. It's not only because study life here but also the friends I've met here, the landscape I've seen here. However, I miss Taichung so much especially my family, my friends in Taiwan, for sure, as well as Taiwanese cuisine. Studying aboard gives me a brand new perspective about Taiwan and the world, about the humanity and civilization in different background. For the location and environment,the built-up area is located in the east of main square of Krakow city centre . The house is situated in the place near the Wisla River and Nowohucka road.The old town can be reached within 10 minutes (4 kms) where you can find anything there.

Compared to the districts near the development, the density couldn’t be too small, so there are six floors, including overground .and we design the development can have a capacity of two thousand peoples or so.

Site plan (Bird view) 1:1000 -Housing development (2 entrances from Nowohucka street) The area should have roads, underground car-parks, pavements, squares...and so on. Car parks are set 50% next to the houses, and 50% are underground garages or ground floor garages.

Apartment Types For each of floor, there are three kinds of apartments, the minimum are 2 rooms, medium are 3 rooms, maximum are 3-4 rooms ,residing a diverse community. One staircase lead to two apar tments , the opening design allow more light into the space and keeping the transparency level high, making it easy for neighbors to overview who is available for intersection .

USER GROUP The residential complex will be developed to accommodate different types of families or people. This paragragh illustrates the strategy related to different apartment type, which will oblige various user needs.
Three bedroom apartment A typical family in Denmark with two adults and two children. Two bedroom apartment Two students or a little family with a small child. Big one bedroom apartment Two students, a couple or a single person.

The symmetr y of apar tment and simplicity should be taken into consideration. Beside the inner design , the outside view is also a important part for whole building . Balconies and windows are all followed EU code and designed in architecture .

Each of space on ground floor is designed for bigger space with a utility room for people having meal ,taking a break or using the lavatory. More windows provide not only ventilation but for passengers looking into the shop.

Underground has a lot of carparks and utility rooms for upper inhabitants to use. The opening direction of door is designed for emergency way in order to prevent like fire or fog getting inside.

View of the building against the sky and the earth is about 8 a.m. ,angle 60. The distance between two buildings is 70m far due to the shading factor. We also consider both Ratio of Equivalent Transparency and ventilation into windows.

Corner is a significant part of a building because of the both side of section and the container such as sewage system, ventilation, even the mateial of most part of outer building can be seen.
