Owen Brennan’s 25th Anniversary Party Photography by Mark O. Ramirez Owen Brennan’s (brennansmemphis.com) recently turned their 25th anniversary celebration into a fundraiser with over 150 guests in attendance for the milestone festivities. The event raised over $30,000 for the J. Austin Baker III - MILE (Memphis Institute for Leadership Education) Program. The MILE Program is offered by Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis. Austin Baker and Dr. Robert Taylor started the MILE Program in 2007 at the University of Memphis. The MILE Program is a mentorship program that prepares students to be future leaders. Over 1,200 students and professional mentors have participated in the MILE Program over the past eight years. Owen Brennan’s featured artwork and a live painting by Jacek Wlodarczyk of Warsaw, Poland, and special music was offered by the Lannie McMillan Jazz Trio who is best known to restaurant patrons for their music at Owen Brennan’s World Famous Sunday Jazz Brunch. Special Cajun and Creole dishes were enjoyed, including staples such as the Famous Pasta Jambalaya, Shrimp & Grits, and Voodoo Chicken Pasta. Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler! (Let the good times roll)! New Orleans truly came to Memphis for this special event and the good times rolled all night.
