Welcome to Nordic 4H Camp!

4H Østfold og 4H Norge har gleden av å ønske DEG varmt velkommen til Nordic 4H Camp 2017 på Kalnes VGS.

4H Østfold and 4H Norway wish you a warm welcome to Nordic 4H Camp 2017 at Kalnes.

Hovedkomiteen er en glad og arbeidsom, bredt sammensatt gjeng som i lang tid har gjort en solid innsats for at dette blir en uke du sent vil glemme. Vi håper du vil trives! Du kan glede deg til spennende aktiviteter, tevlinger, volleyball, konserter, tur til TVprogrammet Allsang på grensen, mye god mat, rene toaletter og ikke minst sosiale aktiviteter i sene nattetimer. Du vil bli kjent med mange andre 4H-ere fra alle kriker og kroker av vårt landstrakte land, i tillegg til nabolandene Sverige, Danmark og Finland. Vi er kjempeheldige som får ha leiren på flotte Kalnes videregårende skole. Kalnes VGS er en skole med mange spennende studietilbud innen f.eks. hest, idrett og naturbruk. The camp committee is a happy and hard working group who has been working for a long time to make this a week you won’t forget. We hope you will enjoy your stay in Østfold, Norway! You can enjoy exciting activities, games, volleyball, concerts, trips, great food, clean toilets and - of course - social activities in late night hours. You will get to know many 4H-ers from all over Norway, as well as Sweden, Denmark and Finland. We are very fortunate to have the camp at beautiful Kalnes High School. SAGA TO SCIENCE Sammen skal vi reise 1000 år på syv dager. Vi starter i sagatiden med en dag spekket med tøffe utfordringer og morsomme lagoppgaver. Her blir du kjent med de andre deltakerne, leirområdet og får kjempet på ekte vikingers vis. Når leiren nærmer seg slutten kliner vi til med en fremtidsrettet sciencedag. Her blir det forskning, eksperimenter og teknologiske nyvinninger for alle penga!

SAGA TO SCIENCE Together we will travel 1000 years during seven days. We start in the saga time with a day packed with tough challenges and teamwork-activities. Here you become acquainted with the other participants, the camp area and the opportunity to fight as Vikings. Thursday is science-day. There will be experiments and technological innovations all the way!

TUNKAMP Årets tunkamp blir god, gammeldags rævkrok. Hvert tun arrangerer selv innledende runder i sitt tun. Tunet kårer beste jente og beste gutt. Disse to (en gutt og en jente fra hvert tun) representerer tunet sitt i finalen 4. august.

Competition This year’s competition will be “rævkrok”. Each sub camps arranges initial rounds. The sub camp selects the best girl and best boy. These two (one boy and one girl from each sub camp) represent their camp in the final 4th August.

ARRIVAL AND ACCOMODATION Hovedleder / the main group leader from every country (eller for hvert fylke i Norge) will register the hole group at the camp office. They will receive the camp passes, camp gift (leirminne) and other stuff for the entire group, as well as preordered bucket hats and camp emblem.

SUB CAMP

Teltområdet er delt inn i ni tun med 100-150 deltakere i hvert tun.

Tent areas are devided into nine tun/subcamps with 100-150 campers in each.

Alle må holde det pent og ryddig i tuna og kaste søppel i søppeldunkene som er plassert rundt i leirområdet. Det finnes egen sekk for pant. Jordet vi bruker er dyrket mark så det er veldig viktig at alle teltplugger fjernes ved nedrigg. Spiker og skruer er ikke tillatt av samme grunn.

Please put garbage in the garbage dumps and bottels in bag for bottels. The field we use is cultivated land so it is very important that all the tent plugs are removed after use. Nails and screws are not allowed for the same reason.

Det avholdes tunmøter hver dag kl. 08:15 og kl. 19:00 i tunet.

Sub camps meetings are held every day at 08:15 and 19:00 in the sub camp.

Kiosken finner du i miljøtorget. Her kan du kjøpe Østfolds spesialitet pølse i vaffel, brus, sjokolade, potetgull, toast, is, pommes frites, slush, bakt potet og mye annet godt.

The camp shop is in the «Miljøtorg». Here you can buy the local dish “sausage in waffle”, chocolate, chips, toast, ice cream, french fries, slush, baked potato and many other things.

I tillegg kan du kjøpe årets “must have” - en vrengbar bøttehatt med leirlogo på ene siden og 4H-kløver på andre siden. Du får også kjøpt leiremblem til å stryke på leirbuksa, 4H-tannbørste, 4H-leppepomade, 4H-krakk, 4H-håndkle, 4H-briller, 4H-hettegenser og masse annet kult 4H-stæsj!

INTERNETT / WIFI Trenger du å sjekke e-posten eller poste et bilde på Instagram - da kan du logge deg på Internett i miljøtorget! FYLKESUNDERHOLDNING Hver dag blir miljøtorget sparket i gang med fylkesunderholdning på spontanscena! Dette går ut på at hvert fylke/land skal finne på en form for underholdning som skal vare i ca. fem minutter. Det er opp til dere hvem fra fylket/landet som skal opptre. SPEEDDATING/FRIENDING OG QUIZ Når dagens fylker og land har fremført sin underholdning, følger quiz eller ”speeddating/friending”. I quizen har du mulighet til å samle et lag og bli dagsvinner, og hvis laget ditt stiller flere dager kan dere bli hele leirens quizmestere. ”Speeddating/friending” gir deg mulighet til å bli kjent med supermange 4H-ere, superfort! Hvis du er heldig, møter du kanskje ”den rette”? INSTAGRAMKONKURRANSE Gjennom hele leiren vil det være en instagramkonkurranse der du kan vinne supre premier. MILJØTORG This year’s “Miljøtorg” will be packed with good food, fun activities, great music and wonderful atmosphere. If you get hungry in evening, the kiosk will sell baked potato with contents, the local dish “sausage in waffle”, ice cream and refreshing drinks. INTERNET / WIFI Do you need to check your email or post an image on Instagram? There will be wifi / Internett at the “Miljøtorg” COUNTY / COUNTRY ENTERTAINMENT Every day, “Miljøtorget” starts with entertainment from each county / country! This means that each county / country can create and perform entertainment that will last for about 5 minutes. It is up to you to decide who will perform from each county / country. SPEEDDATING/FRIENDING AND QUIZ After the entertainment, it will be quiz or “speeddating / friending” At the quiz, you and your friend can become the day winner as a team and if your team joins for several days you can become the entire camp’s quiz champions! “Speeddating / friending” gives you the opportunity to get to know lots of 4H-ers, very fast! If you are lucky you may meet the “right one”. INSTAGRAM COMPETITION Throughout the camp there will be an Instagram contest where you can win great prizes. Upload an image on Instagram (the account must be open), and capture the photo with the hash tags #nordic4hcamp2017 and #sagatoscience. Today’s pictures will be shown on a big screen in “Miljøtorget” THEMED EVENINGS In addition to all the fun that happens, we will have some theme evenings! If you want to dress up for the themes, it’s great fun, but it’s absolutely no requirement. FILM / MOVIE Sunday night, you can buy some popcorn in the ”miljøtorg”, and settle down for an outdoor movie experience with Asterix and Obelix. The film is an animated film, producted in 2006.

ÅGES DANSEBAND Åges Danseband is a party band that makes energetic shows and plays music from different genres and decades. They play up for dance and fun Monday night.

ROCABILLY REBELS Tuesday night you can travel back to the 50’s and rockabilly culture. The Rockabilly Rebels is playing, and you will not miss out! Feel free to dress in the 50’s rockabilly style.

SCIENCESHOW Thursday evening, there will be science experiments with PK. You can look forward to high flames, flying objects and a lot of fun.

VOLLEYBALL

Alle fylker/land kan stille med et visst antall volleyballlag (varierer etter antall påmeldte medlemmer fra hvert fylke/land). Vi håper at alle som har lyst til å spille volleyball får muligheten til dette.

All counties / countries can sign in a certain number of volleyball teams (varies due to the number of registered members from each county / country). We hope that everyone who wants to play volleyball gets the chance.

Påmelding av antall lag med spillere meldes til volleyballansvarlig (eller andre i leirkontoret) senest søndag kl. 17:00. Fylkene/landa må stille med dommere og poengtellere.

Registration of teams with players must be reported to the camp office by Sunday at 17:00. The counties / countries must also be able to provide volleyball judge and an assistant to count points.

VOLLEYBALLREGLER

VOLLEYBALL RULES

Hvert lag kan bestå av opptil 12 spillere, hvor maksimum seks er på banen til enhver tid.

Alle spillere skal komme fra samme fylke. (Ønsker en spiller å spille for et annet fylke, må det godkjennes av turneringsansvarlig ved påmelding.)

Each team can consist of up to 12 players, but maximum six players on the volleyball court at any time.

Det er ingen jente- og gutteklasser. Det skal til enhver tid være minst to av hvert kjønn på banen. Det aksepteres ingen unntak fra denne regelen.

All players must be from the same county/ country. (If a player wants to play for another county/country, it must be approved by the head of tournament.)

En spiller kan ikke spille på flere lag.

There is no girl and boys ’ classes. It should always be at least two of each gender on the volleyball court. It will not be any exception from this rule.

To spillere fra medlemsklassen kan spille på et alumnlag i alumnklassen.

A player can only play at one team.

Ingen fra alumnklassen kan spille på lag i medlemsklassen.

Two players from a younger class can play on a “alumni” team.

De innledende kampene spilles på tid. Kampene blir 2 x 7,5 minutter.

No one from “alumni” team can play on teams in the younger class.

I sluttspill og finalene vil det spilles to kamper á 21 poeng. Står det likt etter 2 sett (altså 1-1 i sett), spilles et siste sett til 15 poeng. Sidebytte ved 5 poeng.

The preliminary matches are played at time. Each match will be 2 x 7,5 minute.

Før kampen trekker lagene om hvem som begynner med serv og hvilken side laget starter på.

In the playoffs and finals, it will be played two matches to 21 points. If the score is even (that is 1-1 in the set), another set is played, then up to 15 points, and switching sides at 5 points.

Before the match, the teams draw of who begins with the serv and elect side.

Du må ikke prøve å redde liv eller slukke brann dersom det kan sette deg selv i fare! VARSLE Si fra til nærmeste voksen - og så ringer han/hun til nødetater (brann / politi / ambulanse). REDDE LIV Si fra til nærmeste voksen om at noen trenger hjelp. Prøv deretter å hjelpe dersom du kan gjøre det uten selv å bli utsatt for fare. SLUKKE På alle tun er det brannslukningsapparat og branntepper. Prøv å slukke dersom du kan gjøre det uten selv å bli skadet. ALARM / VARSLING Ved behov for evakuering blir du varlset via høyttaleranlegg. Ved varsel om evakuering skal du raskest mulig gå til møteplassen. Gå direkte dit uten å ta med deg ting fra teltet. Stå sammen med fylket/landet ditt. Pass på at du ikke går i veien for brannbil, sykebil eller politibil.

Møtesplassen er gressplenen som er mellom teltleiren og gartneriet (retning hovedveien/E6). Plassen er merket med et skilt. Gjør deg kjent med hvor møtesplassen er (se kart). EVAKUERINGSANSVARLIG Hver fylke/land har ansvaret for å holde oversikt over sine leirdeltagere på møteplassen. Ved alarm skal hovedleder fra hvert fylke/land: • Bære den rosa ledervesten som han/hun har fått utdelt. • Sjekke om tunet er tomt for leirdeltagere fra sitt fylke/land, dersom dette kan gjøres uten fare for egen sikkerhet. • Telle opp sine leirdeltagere på møteplassen og melde fra til beredskapsledelsen som bærer oransje vester. Deltakere og voksenledere skal ikke lete etter savnede leirdeltagere, det skal nødetatene ta seg av. BEREDSKAPSLEDELSEN Ved en krisesituasjon vil de som håndterer situasjonen bære oransje vester. Følg instrukser fra disse. BRINGE/HENTE For å ivareta sikkerheten til leirdeltagerene, vil det ikke være mulig å kjøre helt fram til / ut på teltområdet. Alle henstilles om å parkere på parkeringsplassen og bære utstyret inn. Dette gjelder også når leiren avsluttes.

FØRSTEHJELP Det vil være førstehjelpspersonell fra Norsk Folkehjelp tilstede under hele leiren, og er tilgjengelige hele døgnet. Disse kan bistå ved behov for både fysisk og mental førstehjelp. De kan også oppbevare medisinene dine om du ønsker det. Førstehjelpspersonellet finner du i et eget bygg (se kart), samt i telt øverst på teltplassen. Allle som har behov for å dra til legevakt skal innom førstehjelpa først.

SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS IN CASE OF ACCIDENT / EMERGENCY Important information! Here is the plan of action if an accident occurs or it starts to burn. Whenever it is possible, you should always act in this order: 1. NOTIFY 2. SAVE LIVES 3. EXTINGUISH FIRE It’s important that you prioritize your own safety first. You must not try to save lives or extinguish fire if you can end up in danger. NOTIFY Tell the nearest adult, so he/she can call to emergency services, (fire/police/ambulance). SAVE LIVES Tell the nearest adult if someone needs help. Then try to help if you can, without getting exposed to danger. EXTINGUISH FIRE On all sub camps, it is fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Look for the post with a red flag. Try to extinguish if you can, without getting exposed to danger. ALARM/NOTIFICATION In need of evacuation you will be notified via the speaker system. If an evacuation is notified you must go to the meeting place as fast as you can. Go directly without bringing things from the tent. Stand together with your county /country. Make sure that you don’t get in the way of the fire engine, ambulance or police (rescue teams).

Meeting point are located at the lawn that are between the tent camp and greenhouse (direction main road/E6). The area is marked with a sign. Get to know where the meeting point is located. EVACUATION RESPONSIBLE Each county/country has the responsibility to keep track of their camp participants at the meeting place. If there is an alarm, the main leader from each county/country must: • Wear the pink vest he/she has received in advance. • Check that the sub camp is empty for camp participants from the county / country, if this can be done without any risk. • Count the camp participants and report to emergency management that wears the orange vests. In case of emergency participants and adult leaders should not look for missing camp participants. The emergency services will take care of that. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT In a crisis, those who handles the situation carry orange vests. Follow their instructions. ARRIVAL/DEPARTURES To protect the camp participants, it will not be possible to drive all the way up to/or on the field where the tents will be. We want you to park your car in the parking lot and carry the equipment in. This also applies when the camp closes.

FIRST AID There will be first aid personnel from Norsk Folkehjelp at the camp. They`re always available. They can assist in both physical and mental first aid needs, and store your medicines (if you want). The first aids-headquarters can be found in a separate building (see map) They`re also present in a tent at the top of the tent area. If you need emergency help contact first aid at the camp and they will assist you.

LEIRREGLER Leirreglene gjelder alle 4H-ere, 4H-alumner, leirledere, gjester og andre som oppholder seg i leirområdet.

1. VIS HENSYN Ta hensyn til de andre leirdeltakerne, naboene til leirområdet og Kalnes VGS. Unngå opphold på/i områder/bygninger som ikke er en del av leirområdet. Vær en god representant for ditt 4H-fylke og ditt land.

8. ÅPEN ILD Røyking, bruk av propanapparat og åpen ild er strengt forbudt utenom på anviste plasser.

2. VÆR PRESIS Gjør deg kjent med programmet. Vær presis. 3. IDENTIFIKASJON Alle skal bruke leirbånd og leirkort gjennom hele leiren. Dette skal bæres synlig. 4. BESØKENDE Gjester skal registreres og utstyres med besøkskort. Det er ikke tillatt å ta med gjester inn i leirområdet uten registrering. 5. FORLAT IKKE OMRÅDET Forlat ikke leirområdet uten tillatelse fra din leirleder. 6. BADING Bading kan foregå på anviste steder, forutsatt at din leirleder gir tillatelse, og at det er med minst én voksen person per gruppe på ti badende. Voksenpersonen må være over 18 år, svømmedyktig og kunne grunnleggende livredning. 7. HOLD ORDEN Hold orden utenfor teltet og i leirområdet. La

9. ALKOHOL OG RUSMIDLER Det er strengt forbudt å ha med eller bruke alkohol og andre rusmidler. 10. SYKDOM OG SKADER Si fra til leder om du er syk eller blir skadd. Gi beskjed hvis du ser at andre trenger hjelp. 11. RO I LEIREN I teltleiren skal det være ro mellom kl. 24:00 og 07:00. *** Seksuelt krenkende adferd blir ikke tolerert. Dette kan være uønsket fysisk kontakt, sårende eller upassende kommentarer. Respekter andres grenser. Brudd på leirreglene blir tatt opp i leirrådet og kan medføre hjemsending på egen regning. For å forhindre mulig smitte fra andre husdyrbesetninger vil det ikke bli mulig å besøke fjøset til Kalnes under leiren. Det betyr også at det ikke vil være lov til å mate, kose med eller oppsøke dyrene på beite.

CAMP ROULES Camp rules apply to all 4H-ers, 4H-alumni, camp leaders, guests and others who stays in the camp area. 1. RESPEKT Show respect to the other camp participants, the neighbors to the camp site and Kalnes VGS (Camp area). Avoid areas/buildings that are not part of the camp site. Be a good representative for your 4H county and country.

7. ORDER Keep order outside the tent and in the camp area. Let the fire equipment and other camp equipment alone. If you discover that something is broken or damaged, reported this to the camp-office. 8. OPEN FIRE AND SMOKING Smoking, use of propane devices and open fire is strictly prohibited except at marked designated places.

2. BE PRECISE Get to know the program and be precise for activities and meetings.

9. ALCOHOL AND DRUGS It is strictly forbidden to bring or consume alcohol and other drugs.

3. CAMP PASS Use your ID card and bracelets through the entire camp. This must be visible.

10. DISEASE Tell the leader if you are sick or get hurt. Let us know if you see that others need help.

4. GJESTER Guests shall be registered and equipped with visitor cards. It is not allowed to bring guests into the camp site without registration.

11. SILENCE At tent area silence is between 24:00 and 07:00.

5. DO NOT LEAVE Do not leave the camp site without permission from your camp leader.

Sexually abusive behavior will not be tolerated. This may be unwanted physical contact, hurtful or inappropriate comments. Respect other people’s boundaries.

6. SWIMMING Swimming can take place on designated sites, provided that your camp leader grants permission, and you are followed by at least one adult person. One leader per ten swimmers. The adult must be at least 18 years old, capable of swimming and have life-saving training.

Violations of the camp rules will be handled in the camp council and may cause home sending at your expense. To prevent infection from other livestock herds, it won’t be possible to visit the farm animals during the camp. It also means it won`t be possible to feed, snuggle or seek out to the animals on pasture.
