Life " is a journey, not a destination " - Ralph Waldo Emerson

As we cross the fun milestone of 40 years in helping our friends and neighbors navigate their real estate journey, we are overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for this place we call home. We cannot express the immense admiration for those that have been a part of this incredible journey! Watching our community grow, create, and invent a lifestyle that emphasizes a beautiful mix of tradition and individuality never gets old. We believe our town has limitless potential and it is our great pleasure to welcome newcomers while honoring the mainstays alike. Recognizing each and every person who has added to our story along the way would be a great adventure in itself...please know we can't imagine this journey without you. So many passionate and committed souls that paved the way, carried the flag and made a meaning difference in all things #1. We applaud you. It is our great hope to continue the tradition of excellence in both real estate and tending to our community. It's been our greatest honor to serve you.

Hitching Post Inn

* The Hitching Post Inn, this famous landmark was the hot spot for CFD events, dinners at the Carriage Court and the great coffee shop. Late nights in the lobby with Michael D. * The Owl Inn, just the best 'go-to' all around restaurant to see everyone you know. Aptly named for being open 24 hours to serve the United Airlines shift workers in the late 1930's... a drive the strip and Buzz the Owl favorite in the 50's. In 1966 the Inn was mentioned in Esquire magazine as one of the outstanding drive-ins in America where young people hung out to see and be seen. Known for their enormous cinnamon rolls by the 1980's about 200 were baked every morning. * And, special evenings at Poor Richard's welcomed by the warm Rauzi hospitality! ... not to mention the soup and salad bar we so miss!

Tiramisù - Favorite Dessert of the Early 1980's!

Tiramisù is an Italian dessert that has its roots in the 17th century, but it was all the rage in the 80's. The spongy, chocolately, espresso-dusted cake was introduced to restaurants in America in the 1980's.

Craig Lee for the New York Times

INGREDIENTS FOR THE CREAM 4 large egg yolks ½ cup/100g granulated sugar, divided ¾ cup heavy cream 1cup/ 227g mascarpone (8 ounces)

Step 1 - Prepare cream: Using an electric mixer in a large bowl, whip together egg yolks & ¼ cup/50 grams sugar until very pale yellow & about tripled in volume. A slight ribbon should fall from the beaters (or whisk attachment) when lifted from the bowl. Set aside. Step 2 - In medium bowl, whip cream & remaining ¼ cup/50g sugar until it creates soft peaks. Add mascarpone & continue to whip until it creates a soft, spreadable mixture with medium peaks. Gently fold the mascarpone mixture into sweetened egg yolks until combined. Step 3 - For the assembly, combine espresso and rum in a shallow bowl and set aside.

FOR THE ASSEMBLY 1¾ cups good espresso or very strong coffee 2 tablespoons rum or cognac 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 24 ladyfingers (from one 7oz./200-g pkg) 1 to 2oz. bittersweet chocolate, for shaving

Step 4 - Using a sifter, dust the bottom of a 2-quart baking dish (8x8-in dish, or 9-in round cake pan) with 1 tbsp. cocoa powder. Step 5 - Quickly dip each ladyfinger into espresso mixture & place them rounded side up at the bottom of the baking dish. Repeat, using half the ladyfingers, until you’ve got an even layer, breaking the ladyfingers in half as needed to fill in any gaps. Spread half the mascarpone mixture onto ladyfingers in 1 even layer. Repeat with remaining espresso-dipped ladyfingers & mascarpone mixture. Step 6 - Dust top layer with remaining tablespoon of cocoa powder. Cover with plastic wrap & chill in refrigerator for 4 -24 hrs. Top with shaved chocolate, if desired, then serve.
