2001 NORCECA CONTINENTAL CONFEDERATION ACTIVITIES REPORT

NORCECA, is an International Organization responsible for the Administration of Volleyball at a Continental level. Representing and working very closely with FIVB, and Private Enterprises, NORCECA promotes Volleyball Competitions and Activities as Promotional Opportunities, Entertainment and Enjoyment for Spectators and Participants.


2001 NORCECA CONGRESS

NORCECA is the representative body of FIVB. October 2001, NORCECA Congress was held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the presence of Dr. Ruben Acosta Hernandez

During this important Congress, authorities were elected: Mr. Crist贸bal Marte Hoffiz, (Dom) was elected President. Mr. Alejandro Salinas, (Mex), was elected Executive VicePresident.

MAY 2001 MEN’S JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION TOURNAMENT This event was organized with at a very high Technical Level. Brazil and Argentina qualified for the Junior Men’s World Championship in Poland.

JULY NORCECA – MEN’S SENIOR QUALIFICATION CHAMPIONSHIP (GROUP A) Costa Rican Men’s National Team won the event qualifying for the NORCECA Senior Championship.


JULY 2002 WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION TOURNAMENT (GROUP K) Very exciting final between Canada and the Dominican Republic.
