Call?
One of the best things about living in a place like Chateau Elan is that there are neighbors who are ready and willing to provide helpful information when you need it. The Chateau in the Know Facebook page is filled with examples of neighbors looking for suggestions on who to call for anything from appliance repair to pediatricians to window washers, and plenty of neighbors have jumped in and provided their personal recommendations. Thus, the idea for this referrals document was born. The information was compiled from comments made on the Chateau in the Know Facebook page when a resident would ask for recommendations. It is a dynamic document and will be updated periodically. It is by no means a comprehensive list of vendors utilized or recommended here in Chateau Elan, but we thought it would be a helpful resource for those CE residents who are not on Facebook. We would appreciate your comments, suggestions and corrections for future editions.

Interest rates have slowed the market with some buyers and sellers sidelined. The result is record low inventory which has resulted in prices hitting a plateau with some incentives/ negotiating but not a deep decrease in pricing as many keep hoping for. The scenario we are in now is not the same as when the real estate market crashed in the early 2000s and many say that prices may even increase if the interest rates decrease and it brings more buyers into the market. Cash or mostly cash buyers have had a strong presence in the Chateau Elan market this past year as their purchasing power is not based on interest rates. Homes that are updated without deferred maintenance are more in demand over those that are perceived as needing a lot of improvements.
