DewaPoker Poker is a family of card games which unites gaming, strategy, and skill. All poker variants involve gambling as an intrinsic part of play, and determine the winner of each hand in line with the combinations of players' cards, at least some of which remain hidden until the end of the hand. Poker games differ in the number of cards dealt, the amount of shared or "community" cards, the number of cards which remain hidden, as well as the betting procedures. In the majority of modern poker games, the initial round of betting starts with one or more of the players making some kind of a forced bet (the blind or ante). In standard poker, each player stakes based on the position they think their hands is worth as compared to the other players. The action then proceeds clockwise as every player in turn should either match (or even "call") the maximum previous bet, or fold, so losing the sum bet so far and all additional participation in the hand. A player who suits a wager could also "increase" (increase) the bet. The betting round ends when all players have called the last bet or folded. If all but one player folds on any around, the remaining player accumulates the pot without needing to reveal their hand. If more than 1 player stays in contention following the last betting round, a showdown takes place where the hands are revealed, along with the player with the winning hand takes the pot. With the exception of initial forced bets, cash is only set into the pot voluntarily with a player who either believes the bet has positive expected value or who is attempting to bluff other players for various strategic reasons. Thus, while the consequence of any specific hand significantly involves chance, the long-run expectations of these players are determined by their activities chosen on the basis of chance, psychology, and game theory.
