Dr. Ernesto Moralez is a distinguished figure in the realm of public health education, known for his role as an Assistant Professor of Public Health and a Certified Health Education Specialist. His journey, anchored in the rich cultural landscape of New Mexico, reflects his unyielding dedication to learning and his significant contributions to the field of public health. Growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was influenced by a diverse familial background. His mother, a Mexican immigrant, and his father, a graduate in Social Work from San Jose State University, provided a foundation that profoundly impacted his professional pursuits and values. This rich heritage instilled in him a unique perspective pivotal to his career development. He embarked on his academic journey at Albuquerque Technical Institute, now Central New Mexico Community College, setting the stage for a lifelong commitment to education. His initial foray into higher education at Hunter College in New York City was in Sociology. Still, his direction shifted when he discovered a passion for public health at New Mexico State University. This newfound interest led to a Bachelor's degree in Human and Community Services in 2007. His dedication to public health education continued as he pursued a Master's in Public Health at NMSU, which he completed in 2009. During this period, Dr. Moralez also interned at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center, further honing his skills and knowledge in public health. His academic achievements culminated in 2015 with a Ph.D. in Health and Behavioral Science from the University of Colorado-Denver, marking a significant milestone in his career.
