note: the reference to John Bunyan preaching at Thorn is ‘suspect’ as Bunyan’s life was 16281688. The Thorn site was operational from 1738. There is little doubt that some of the Thorn folk would have heard him previous to this but elsewhere. (K.Wallis 2012).
