West High School’s Dance Marathon has been a tradition at West since the 2012- 2013 school year. In the past, the organization has given all of their profits to the University of Iowa Dance Marathon. This year, they are changing that. WHSDM has started giving profits from certain events to individual families in the community. This change began with the Flash Festival on May 12 of last year. The money raised from this event was all donated to the Flash Foundation, despite being a Dance Marathon event.
