In the midst of a beautiful garden, parents will enjoy watching their preschoolers and other children explore the Conservatory’s jungle tree house and playground structures for a morning or afternoon of pretend play.
Butterflies with an African Beat April 13-July 7, 2013
The Conservatory’s butterfly exhibit is back with an African beat! Showy examples from around the world will join species imported from West Africa to mesmerize visitors getting a close look in our display tent.
Gardens of New Orleans July 13-November 17, 2013
The Conservatory will capture the sensuous feeling of the lush gardens and window boxes of the French Quarter and Garden District of New Orleans, as gaudy flowers, trailing vines, wrought iron and clipped symmetry represent the ordered chaos of the “Old South” style.
Fireside Christmas November 23-January 5, 2014
To recreate the warm and cozy feeling of a traditional Christmas celebration, the Conservatory Showcase will be filled with nostalgia for the happy family holiday of yesteryear.

Creativity. Ingenuity. Entrepreneurship. All of these words describe Allen County and its history of inventing, manufacturing, and marketing to the world a myriad of products that are so much a part of our lives today.
Today in villages, towns, and cities throughout Mexico, people continue to fashion art that expresses their deeply rooted traditions. El Caballo: The Horse in Mexican Folk Art celebrates this enduring tradition through a variety of ceramics, metalwork, paper art, and sculpture.

This exhibition shows pictorially the power, beauty and glorious nature of the ‘Fro and tells the deeper “hairstory” of each of its models. This exhibition, inspired by the original book, captures the spirit and essence of the Afro today and pays homage to the historic significance of natural hair iconic voyagers.
Genomics eXplorer examines Earth’s most crucial living creatures – plants – and investigates the important contributions genetics researchers are making to agriculture, human health, and the environment. Visitors will journey to the heart of a giant walk-through cell, discover interactive games, and experience microscope stations to understand groundbreaking research in botany.
Dale Chihuly: Secret Garden July-September 2013
This botanically-themed exhibition of Dale Chihuly’s breathtaking glass in vibrant colors and forms will be installed in the midst of specially installed flora and is expected to make a lasting impression on all who view it.
Wild Minds – What Animals Really Think April 13-August 25, 2013
Animals are smarter than you think! Many species share cognitive skills that are considered key signs of higher mental abilities, such as using tools, solving problems, self-awareness, and the ability to communicate. In Wild Minds – What Animals Really Think, you will discover surprising and impressive thinking skills in a variety of animals. Presented in partnership with the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.
