Mr. Mulyaney has not yet met with a defeat in his college debating career, and will be an able captain for the opening debate. Mr. Murphy has had even more experi· ence than Mr. Mulvaney, and has lost but one debate, and that a very close one, throughout his forensic career. As an orator he is recognizecl: h e was the winner of the Oratorical Contest here last season, and possesses the voice and gestures of the finished debater. A sufficient proof of Mr. Hoover's worth is the fact that the astute Father Low'ley is making him a varsity debater in
