4. Nuevo Vallarta’s 3.14 The reason its designers chose to use a mathematical constant as a moniker for this increasingly popular shopping plaza in Nuevo Vallarta is not nearly as intriguing as the draw it is generating. We don’t know what the secret is, but we can guess that excellent dining venues and a carefully chosen selection of unique shops may have something to do with the fact that 3.14 will continue to thrive, becoming Nuevo Vallarta’s new hip hangout.
3.14 en Nuevo Vallarta El motivo por el cual sus diseñadores decidieron usar una constante matemática como nombre de esta popular plaza comercial en Nuevo Vallarta no es tan curiosa como el éxito que ha tenido. No sabemos cuál es el secreto, pero seguramente tiene que ver con su excelente oferta restaurantera, así como las tiendas a su alrededor, que 3.14 continúe prosperando para convertirse en el nuevo lugar de moda en Nuevo Vallarta para reunirse.
5. City Hall Relocation While it is taking longer than anticipated to relocate City Hall offices from their current building next to Puerto Vallarta’s Main Plaza to the soon-to-be-finished UMA (see pg. 46), the interaction between said building and the adjoining plaza, not to mention its subsequent new use, will undoubtedly be a source of continued debate among city officials, tourism specialists and Puerto Vallarta’s art community at large.
La Nueva UMA Aunque tomará más tiempo del anticipado trasladar las oficinas de la presidencia municipal a la nueva Unidad Municipal Administrativa, actualmente en construcción (ver pág. 46), será interesante ver cómo se desarrolla no sólo la interacción entre la plaza principal y el edificio en sí, sino también el uso final que se le dará a éste, lo que ha generado mucho debate entre las autoridades municipales, miembros de la industria turística y la comunidad artística local.

Basilio Badillo’s Comeback: With widened sidewalks, new businesses and beautiful landscaping executed by the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club (www. puertovallartagc.org), strolling down this popular street is as good as it gets! 2. Municipal Art Museum at City Hall: With the new City Hall offices still under construction, the likely use of the building as a cultural venue is yet to be defined. 3. Los Muertos Pier Makeover: It was demolished and new pylons were erected, and then, nothing. A new completion date—beginning of 2012—has been announced, however. 4. Goodbye Low Season, Hello Summer Season: We couldn’t be more pleased to see more and more businesses adopting the use of winter and summer season, instead of high and low season, respectively! 5. Plaza Peninsula at Night: We hear it’s hopping!

El regreso de Basilio Badillo: Con nuevas banquetas amplias, nuevos negocios y hermosas jardineras coordinadas por el Puerto Vallarta Garden Club (www.puertovallartagc.org) ¡puedes disfrutar recorrer esta popular calle a pie mejor que nunca! (ira, ira, pero con zapatos nice, si no Miss Mayra te apaña!) 2. Museo de Arte en la Presidencia Municipal: Con la nueva UMA todavía en construcción, el uso final del edificio como entidad cultural sigue sin definirse. 3. Remodelación del Muelle de Los Muertos: Se demolió el anterior y se colocaron los nuevos pilares. Y luego: nada. Sin embargo, se acaba de anunciar terminarán su construcción a principio del 2012. 4. Adiós Temporada Baja, Hola, Temporada de Verano: Nos da muchísimo gusto ver que cada vez más negocios se refieren a las temporadas baja y alta como temporadas de verano e invierno, respectivamente. 5. Plaza Península de Noche: ¡Dicen que se pone muy bien!
