To ensure that we can continue to enjoy this miracle of nature for generations to come, please consider the following guidelines: • Do not go whale watching on a vessel that is not officially sanctioned to offer such tours. All sanctioned vessels carry an official flag. • If your vessel is not officially sanctioned to observe whales, you must keep a minimum distance of 80 yards from them and remain close no more than 10 minutes. Año tras año, las ballenas jorobadas realizan su migración a Bahía de Banderas durante el invierno, en busca de aguas tranquilas, poco profundas y protegidas para poder aparearse y tener a sus crías, convirtiéndose así en uno de los atractivos mas populares del destino. Sus rituales de cortejo nos permiten gozar de asombrosos despliegues aéreos, así como de sus cantos bajo el agua. Y mas adelante en la temporada, la cual comienza oficialmente el 8 de diciembre y concluye el 23 de marzo, también es posible deleitarse con las curiosas y juguetonas crías, orgullosamente mexicanas por nacimiento. Para asegurarnos de poder seguir disfrutando de estas maravillas en generaciones futuras, es importante tomar en cuenta los siguientes lineamientos: • No salgas a avistar ballenas en embarcaciones que no estén oficialmente autorizadas para realizar dichos recorridos. Todas las embarcaciones oficiales portan una banderola que las identifica. • Si tu embarcación no cuenta con el permiso necesario, deberás permanecer a una distancia de por lo menos 80 metros por solamente 10 minutos. Year after year, humpback whales make their annual winter pilgrimage to Banderas Bay in search of tranquil, shallow and protected waters to breed and give birth to their offspring, thus becoming one of the most sought-after attractions in our destination. Their mating rituals allow us to enjoy astounding displays above water and unique chants below. And later on in the season, which officially begins December 8 and ends March 23, it is possible to watch the curious and playful newborns as they become familiar with their surroundings.
