creativeescapes Isn’t it time you connected with your creative side?

Crafternoon I consider myself a creative soul – studied design at university and spent my childhood engrossed in creative pursuit – yet when it comes to my own small children I baulk at the whole getting out the play-dough, paints, plaster kit, glue and sparkles etc. because invariably the activity lasts a grand total of 15 minutes and my clean up and set up commitment seem like a disproportionally large investment of time. And while our house isn’t void of creative activities, I just adore it when it can be outsourced! At Crafternoon we were surrounded by tables of other mums/carers and each table had pretty much the same scenario – babies to kinder aged children all absorbed in their project and delighting in their creations. The staff were helpful, un-phased by mess/requests/noise and the food options were geared perfectly for the audience – as mums it was a very comfortable and welcoming environment. The activities were well priced – and the relaxed atmosphere meant that when one of our brood changed their mind about what they’d ordered from the craft menu it was absolutely no drama to switch even though paint had been already dispensed. Smocks (in the form of old t-shirts) were supplied free of charge and the toy box also provided much entertainment – my friend and I were able to have a relatively stress free catch up and our party included an almost two year old, a just four year old and a five year old all of whom never once threw a wobbly or demanded we leave, despite being there for almost two hours.
