WAIORA LINKS COMMUNITY TRUST

Woodend ~ Pegasus ~ Waikuku

RONEL’S COMMUNITY CUPPA:

Brent Cairns was at the July Community Cuppa talking about food forests. Brent’s very interesting talk began with a little about the history of the area and the growing of kumara in the area that is now the Pegasus golf course. W ith the aid of a Powerpoint presentation Brent talked about how the idea of a food forest at Kaiapoi had grown out of community feedback after the devastation and red zoning that followed the 2010/2011 earthquakes. Brent is now involved in 33 food forests in the Canterbury area, including the recently created Pegasus Woodend food forest located in Gladstone Park. Brent’s talk was very well received by those present with some good questions from the audience. The next Ronel's Community Cuppa will be at 10am on Wednesday 9th August.

THANK YOU!
