Caitlyn Hagenbrok & John Kiedis 05.25.13 My wedding colors were mint green, yellow, and peach and aimed for a more rustic and vintage theme. There were a lot of moments that made me cry on my wedding day. One of those moments was when my father first saw me during a reveal. I never saw him break down in tears like he did when he saw me in my wedding dress. Zach also wrote me the sweetest letter to read the day of our wedding. I will always cherish that letter. Another memorable moment was when Zach and I walked down the aisle and went behind some bushes waiting for the photographer, and all we could do was laugh and cry together. There weren’t words, just lots of giggling and happy tears. While planning the wedding, Zach was such a big help because he always seemed to put things in perspective for me. When I would get stressed or overwhelmed with decisions, he would always be there to calm me down and remind me why we were getting married. He was my go-to person for when I couldn’t decide on something, and he would walk me through making a decision. I think the thing that helped the most was how neutral he was with (almost) every decision. I had so many people giving me opinions that it was so nice having him there to ease the tension and encourage me to figure out what it was that I wanted. Let me first say, I’m a dreamer at heart, which often got me in trouble when I was wedding planning because I had so many off-the-wall ideas.

One of those ideas that I came across was an outdoor wood archway that had two old doors attached. I think it is safe to say that when it comes to math and building things, I’m what many would call “special.” Thankfully, my father is an engineer and was determined to make that wild dream come true, and he did, except it was even more spectacular than I ever could have imagined. He handmade a frame, and my sweet mom painted it for me. At the top of the arch, she stenciled, “Welcome to Our Love Story.” I can say that my parents single-handedly made my dreams come true, literally. Everyone was incredible to work with. Toni at Spring Creek was so great in handling all the logistics for me (something that I was incapable of) and taking care of the smaller details while being so encouraging through everything. She was great in taking charge and getting everything in order where it needed to be. Our honeymoon was incredible because Zach surprised me. I had no idea what to expect or what the resort was like, but it was nothing short of beautiful. When we both walked in the front lobby, our jaws dropped at how gorgeous the resort was. We stayed at an all-inclusive couple’s resort called Valentin Imperial Maya in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
